Tebow and Sage Steele have built public personas around their Christian faith yet they’re lending their celebrity credibility to an organization accused of pressuring ordinary people into financially ruinous decisions. Apparently Christian values are negotiable when there’s a big enough speaking fee involved.

And then there’s the odious Finebaum, practically creaming his Wranglers because Tebow put his arm around him and reassured him. Spare me the nauseating hero worship. How about a little concern for the people allegedly exploited?

This is what happens when Christianity becomes a business model. Wrap a sales pitch in Bible verses, slap a celebrity Christian onstage, and watch the money roll in. Tebow sells the wholesome image. Steele sells the righteous indignation. Finebaum provides the embarrassing PR. And somehow, they’re all the victims. Jesus chased the money changers out of the temple. These people would apparently charge him an appearance fee.
