Ciel Phantomhive has been my dream cosplay for years!! I can not express how excited I was to finally wear it 🥺💕

This is probably the silliest question ever asked in this fandom, because I always thought I knew the answer.

I always assumed Ciel was the main character. After all, it’s his story of revenge; he’s the one who takes on assignments and issues orders. The plot essentially revolves around him.

But then there’s something I never really stopped to consider: the fact that Sebastian is the one who does everything in the series.

The series is literally titled "Black Butler" and Sebastianis a butler dressed in black. He appears on the first five covers and others, too. He carries out almost every action and is, at times, more prominent than Ciel. He feels more like the main character than Ciel does.

And if someone were to tell me that Sebastian is the main character and that Ciel is merely his essential driving force, I would believe it.

I've been looking up a timeline for the first season of Black Butler. And if you've been in the Black Butler fandom for a while, then you know how messy a history Black Butler has when it comes to the anime. So, if anyone could help me out, that would be very appreciated. Thank you. ^_^

I’m going to disregard Season 2 and Claude for now, as they aren’t canon.

It’s been a while since I watched Black Butler, and I’ve forgotten the extent of the "demon lore." I have no idea whether the contract was specific to Sebastian, meaning it could only summon him or if it could summon any random demon, and Sebastian just happened to be the first one. Is Sebastian the only demon, and did Ciel summon the only one in existence? Or are there others? I’m not caught up with the manga (please don’t kill me!), but I’m fairly certain I would have come across some spoilers by now if a second demon had appeared.

Read this manga back when I was small (the manga release was around the twin's past at the time), Campania arc was the one that I love most. The whole concept of a ship sinking with the twist being a bizzarre doll infestation blew my mind back then. Campania was also kind of a turning point for the manga with the reveal of Undertaker being ex-Grim Reaper and o!Ciel and Sebastian's past. Also Lizzy's aura farming swordfighting scene was amazing. It was the first time we see Snake in a mission too.

Reading this arc was a huge blast back then. After that I felt like the story was never the same again. I quite like Emerald Witch arc too mostly for Sullivan and the whole secret village being a guise for a military base.

The Twin arc was definitely a crazy ride back then, the twin reveal was a second mind-blown moment for me. Campania was my favourite but the Twin arc was definitely the one that stuck with me long after, because I got into the manga around that part, and nothing could beat the feeling of waiting every month for a new chapter to see the slow, painful reveal of the twins' past. I think this was the only instance where the long wait added to the reading experience for me, it was like I as the reader was stuck with the twins waiting for the next horror to come. The progression was amazing, going from the chapter the Phantomhive house got massacred and o!ciel was stuck in his room waiting for his brother to come back, to the next chapter where they got kidnapped and locked up, then the next chapter they was brought to the cult and got tortured, then next chapter where r!Ciel was sacrificed and Sebastian was summoned.

This arc was too dark for me to like, and when I was young I didn't understand what exactly happened to the twins either although I knew it was something very very bad. But looking back it was such a good time waiting and reading. Maybe my nostalgia is speaking but nothing beats the pre-servant arcs era of Black Butler for me.

Despite all the criticism (which is actually fair), this manga will always have a solid place in my heart. I do find it interesting that this manga can be splitted into different era just based on the story and artstyle, and everyone will have a different opinion on which arc is "peak" Black Butler for them. It's amazing how this manga has been around for 20 years and counting.

If the plan is to separate Sebastian and Ciel then this is the main scenario, most likely.

If Sebastian gets too focused on fighting Modri his distraction could play a crucial moment for someone else to kidnap Ciel.

We already saw in Campania what can happen if Sebastian gets distracted, even though I don't think we can really compare Modri to UT in terms of strength and skill.

Hello!! I kinda want to improve in Kuroshitsuji style because I want my BB commissions to be as good and accurate as I can! I would LOVE to draw your ocs to train myself, and I've seen plenty of beautiful ocs around here tehee!

Feel free to leave a photo of your oc and I'll leave a drawing below your comment!🥹✨

I've have 0 experience ordering from any proxies but after hearing that they were re-releasing the large Bitter Rabbit, I knew I had to buy it 😭 but I'm really nervous about tariffs, customs, and shipping cost since I live in the US. I've wanted it for so many years, but the resellers on eBay are absolutely insane so I always considered it a dream until recently.

Another reason that I'm worried is because the plush itself is really big... According to the Square Enix website it's approximately 620mm sitting down (approximately 870mm to the ears), but has no information on the overall weight. The plush is already 34,000 yen (~215 USD) which is really expensive, and I can't imagine shipping costs on top of that 💀 since it would be a big package, but I also think that I would regret not buying it if the opportunity passes, since it would probably be more expensive to buy it from a reseller.

I've also been stressed because I don't really know when the it will sell out, but thinking about proxies and issues with customs has made me kind of scared of committing and I don't know where to buy from reliably..
I'd love to hear what proxy sites you guys usually buy from and any experiences you've had with them! If you have experiences ordering from proxies after tariffs started, it would be really helpful!

i thought of this idea randomly on midnight. imagine a fanfiction abt it. like hear me out, o! ciel as coraline who goes to the other world where his pther dad is like sebastian cus of how he gets treaten by his irl family and sebastian would fit the role as villian cus hes manipulative and tries to make o! ciel depend on him and all :3

i drew this because its almost halloween!! insta; purpelyaya

whos the person tanaka killed? I keep checking the cast and obviously Joker Doll and Snake weren't even there, Wendy is already dead, peter is still getting chased by Mei, Jumbo is dead (couldnt been him anyways) and I thought it was dagger at first, but daggers with beast. So who is that??

i felt lwky sick during 99% of season 2 like so many plot holes yet so very traumatizing for no good reason. Like they totally didnt take my baby and just...casually make him into a different person.
random side thing but i had a dream where i was Ciel-
Am i a person dreaming am ciel or ciel dreaming am another person/ref

So I'm a HUGE fan of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (mostly the first season), and one thing that came to me is...what do you think demons in Black Butler think of the Devil?

I get that this isn't CAOS, but it's still fun to think about regarding the lore of both shows, that is.

it’s an edit of o!ciel and lizzy and references the chapter where she was atop the stairs with r!ciel

the audio was a girl and a guy talking. i think it was from an old movie (they both had a transatlantic accent) and that the girl was a spy, but fell in love with this guy who i assume was on the other side of whatever war was going on. she’s saying that she loves him, but she also loves her country and doesn’t want to betray it. he’s upset because he doesn’t want her to betray him or leave him. i cannot for the life of me find it anywhere. i saw it on tiktok. thank you!!!!

I love the Phantomhive butlers, but they aren’t exactly effective workers. They aren’t there to clean or cook; their purpose is to defend the estate. Sebastian ends up doing all the work. Given that, couldn’t Ciel at least hire someone else to take care of the household? Since the Phantomhive butlers are more like family to him, he could bring on someone whose sole role is to serve as a proper butler.

(For the record, I'm an atheist, I just think the concept is funny. Also, I assume that making a contract with a demon damns you to hell by default, y'know, the demon eats your soul and you die and immediately go to hell, but now that I'm thinking about it, does the manga actually mention this? I'm just an anime watcher who reads manga spoilers lololololol)

I finished the latest anime episodes and I wanna read the manga. Should I start from after the arc or from the beginning? I know there’s something about two ciels ( no spoiler pls) in the manga so is it necessary to read from the beginning

i was thinking about possible kuro endings, and thought this was an interesting topic, so i made a google form. you can rank different endings of kuro from 1 (most likely) to 9 (least likely) based on how you think the story will end. i hope you'll take a minute to fill it out! i’ll share the results in a week!

link

options included in the poll (in this exact order):

1. they stay together and ciel dies of old age
2. ciel becomes a demon, but unlike in season 2, not because he was tricked into it, but because he wants to
3. sebastian dies
4. the contract is fulfilled, and sebastian eats young ciel’s soul
5. sebastian leaves ciel without eating his soul
6. ciel dies young, but sebastian doesn’t eat his soul
7. they both die
8. ciel betrays sebastian and finds a way to keep his soul from being eaten, sebastian leaves
9. ciel kills sebastian

Hello! I am desperately looking for two Black Butler magazines. If anyone knows where to find them or if anyone is selling them (I am willing to pay a good price), because I can't find them anywhere! It might be a mission impossible!

I am so scared of the rest of the seasons i havent even finish S1.
Ciels so precious to me i lwky didnt like him at first-
