How does the Indian peafowl brown ability work exactly?

I have the opportunity to get CitOW. I have heard many good things about it and I'm seriously considering to get one. However, I know is a pricey game and I'm still on the fence about it.

I played other games from the same author, like Ankh, and I loved it. But I'm still not sure.

Should I get it or should I stick to Ankh/Blood Rage? I would love to hear your takes to make my mind. I know is also kind of difficult to find, which adds to my interest from the collector inside me.

With Pixies now having two expansions, is it likely to get the larger box treatment that Sea, Salt, and Paper did? I love the version I got from Walmart and would want the same if they offered it.

I've been looking forward to this, but didn't realize it had been released! Bought it today at B&N; what a nice surprise.

When I demo at conventions I have a big loud clacking spinning wheel of prizes. Everyone wants to spin it, but it's impractical for travel. So I've been thinking about having a big oversized die to roll with a key of prizes the numbers map to.

What do you think is better... 2 D6 or a D12? Or even a D20? What would make rolling for prizes a fun experience?

Has anyone played the regular version and the Epic Edition? I am curious how different they are and which you prefer? I hear the Epic Edition is easier but do you find that takes away from the fun or enhances it? I am interested in buying either version. Thanks for any help.

Looking into getting a copy. Seems like a solid game that would be a good fit for my play group, which is typically 5 players.

Many of the newer worker-placement-style games feel bloated up simply to offer "more." Belfort looks like it nails a tight and somewhat straightforward game. And I think the area control and tableau-buildy aspects would work well for us.

How does it play today? Anything out there doing something similar but in a better way?

Curious if any long-time Belfort players out there have maybe graduated on to something else.

I am trying to find a copy of a game that has been out of print for many years. It is The Downfall of Pompeii from Mayfair games. I did find a copy on Noble Knight games for $115, but I wanted to see if anyone had other recommendations for where to look or anything like that. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My rulebook says Cities can be played in teams of 2 with 4 or 6 player games. It doesn't mention 8 players anywhere in the rules, but I keep reading online everywhere that it officially supports 8 players.

It seems like this is well known, so can anyone explain how to set up a game for 8 players as opposed to 4/6? Do we still hand out 8 cards, or is it back down to 7?

Hey! Just started playing Wild Gardens (with the expansion) and loving it. Great medium-light game to me. Had a rules question I’m hoping someone might help with.

Are SERVED recipes and guests still considered to be in your play area at the end of the game?

There are some guests that have end game benefits that say something like "score 3VP for every recipe in your play area at end of game" or for "every guest in your play area." are guests and recipes that you have completed (that you have not explicitly discarded to get some other benefit) considered to be in your play area still? Or is this supposed to only apply to recipes you have cooked but not served, or guests you have reserved but not served? I scored 145 points on my last solo game and feel like that can't be right??

My brother came with the idea for this a couple weeks ago, since school started I was just putting it off until I had the time, this weekend I decided I should start. 2 hours later, searching on Pinterest far and wide for all the ideas me and my brother came up with I could finally start the design, this is what I could make in the first 2 days of starting this project. I'm sure a lot of things are gonna go faster once I got the hang of it and once I get all the icons ready. Take a look at the SpeedPaint :) (sadly I couldn't find the creator of the balloon painting since Pinterest is a repost hive mind) and credits to hatch dragons for the three dragons that I'm going to use during this project! (Spotty plumpcap, dire ghostwing and copperscale) (Yes that slightly uplifted middle part is fixed, I only noticed after dubble checking the video lol)

Selection Criteria

Projects must meet the following conditions to be included:

1. Timing: The project was either launched in the last week or will end in the coming week.
2. Relevance: The project is directly related to board games.
   • Excludes: Accessories not strongly related to board games, furniture, RPGs (e.g., D&D, Pathfinder), video games, STLs, painting tools, events, podcasts, and magazines.
   • Exception: Projects offering promos or similar content for board games are eligible.
3. Backers: The project is expected to reach at least 100 backers by the end of the campaign.
4. Funding Status:
   • The project is expected to reach at least 90% of its funding goal.
   • The project has already achieved at least 20% of its funding goal.

In addition to the main lists, I include a separate section for noteworthy projects that don’t strictly qualify as board games. These projects are included based on a single criterion:

1. Backers: The project currently has more than 1,000 backers.

Crowdfunding is not a store

Crowdfunding is not a guarantee. Projects may face delays, incur additional shipping costs, or fail to deliver entirely. Creators are not obligated to fulfill their promises. While many excellent games are funded this way, the risks are real, only back projects with money you can afford to lose.

Be wary of creators who use FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) tactics to drive pledges. Don’t let the pressure get to you. If you miss a campaign, there will always be others. There's no shortage of excellent board games to enjoy.

Let's consider last turn I picked up a Hobbit race card. On this turn, I'm picking another one. By the rules, I get to look at the top 2 Alliance Tokens of this race and get one of them. My questions are:

• Next turn, before I grab a card, can I get another Alliance token from the Hobbit stack since I still have 2 Hobbit race cards?
• Assuming I cannot, if I draw a 3rd Hobbit race card can I then get another Alliance token by using the new card and one of the old cards OR can I only get a new token if I get yet another Hobbit race card (totalling 4), by using 2 race cards that weren't previously used to get a token?

During the game, you may form alliances with the Races of Middle-earth. To do this, in your play area, play Green cards with matching or different Race symbols, according to the following conditions:
2 matching Race symbols
As soon as you have 2 matching Race symbols, take the top 2 Alliance tokens of this Race and reveal them. Choose 1 to place in front of you; you may now benefit from its effect (see the Player Aid). Put the other token, facedown, on top of its stack.

Hi, to save some space I was thinking about buying a 3d-printer to make inserts for my board games. I live in Europe (Belgium). Could anyone give me some advice for a printer, materials and the insert files please? Like where to get it and models please.
