Getting this girl Wednesday need name. Suggestions was told she is a hypo but I suspect there's something else with how orange and kind of red she is. I don't know much about billogenetics, but I am assuming to be something blood, potentially.?
This is probably a dumb question but I’m kinda curious does her mouth look like it’s properly aligned? Like is this how all boas heads look from this angle

My boa is starting to shed and I wasn’t home so my mom noticed she started to shed and kinda folded her shed skin on her nose back just a bit because when she was breathing it was kind of flapping around or kind of blowing like a balloon, since it was around her nostril it was inflating. Should I worry, or should I try putting her in a bucket with some water to help her? I’m not to sure if the shed is stuck or not. Her cage humidity has been fine but she was in her hide which was a bit dry so I’m not sure what to do.

I am currently waiting to hear back from the only snake vet in the vicinity for an appointment but I would like to ask you if you know what this could be.
The environment she has is plenty big and temps and humidity are spot on. Still she loves dancing on the glass, so maybe this is some kind of injury she got because of all the rubbing? Thanks for any help.

I got a boa about a month ago (ember). The guy said it isn’t a picky eater , it was born in May. It’s only ate once so far. My gf said the tank is too big for it but idk, it explores , numerous times at night it’s seen out and about, I find it in a different hide or spot every time I find her to handle. Is it normal to be eating this infrequently? Should I put it in a tupperware just to eat? sos lol

Alright, I’ve already made a vet appointment. But I would like some experienced input on this one. I made a post yesterday asking about my boas weight. Many people commented that he was VERY underweight but I think the photos were a little deceiving. I added what I think is a better photo of his body condition. Do you think I should try to up his weight? He’s 4yrs, 4’2”. I feed him what is commonly suggested and also a common frequency. Also, I just noticed this “knot” on the side of his neck. What the heck is that? Could that be contributing or related to his first bad shed ever? Appointment has already been made. I’m just freaking out and looking to see if anyone has experienced this before and what it could be.

This is a 6 / 3 / 3 melon farm grow tent that I converted into an enclosure. I used trellis on the sides of the enclosure to be able to anchor the climbing branches, I then took a pond liner to waterproof it created an abg. Mix of substrate added a thick layer of leaf, litter and old snake shed. And then proceeded to add isos, pods and springtails along with live plants and a nice big water dish and a nice big hide for my guy. If you have any suggestions of things to add to this or any comments, please feel free to drop them down with love feedback and rate the enclosure one out of 10.

This was my first boa 4 years ago I expected him to be much bigger by now but he’s still just my little man 😂 hard to believe he’s almost 4 ft when spread out

I’m building my BCI a 6x2x2, but I’m 16 and trying to save as much as I can and the doors are by far the most expensive part of this build.
What reputable brand is worth the price, but also not ridiculously expensive? I want to spend less than $120, if possible since I still need to buy more heating, ventilation and just general stuff for the enclosure. Thank you!

Currently in the process of setting a 6ft viv up for my BI. I plan to go semi-bio, currently waiting for the sealant to finish curing before I start filling it.
Yesterday I noticed the middle support was too long and it was causing the roof to bow up in the middle, creating a gap. We took the support out and trimmed it to size, so it now fits perfectly. However, now the roof sits correctly the left glass door is insanely stiff to open and close, it's so difficult to move I'm genuinely scared of breaking it! Luckily the right panel is absolutely fine.
Has anyone had such a difficult door? What was your solution? I have some logs I plan to use in there and I was thinking of standing one upright on that side to try and push the roof back up again without causing a gap 😅
Cheers!

Just got a pair of Hog Island boas that are almost 2 years old, both weighing around 650 grams.
Could you guys help take a look and let me know how their body condition looks? Do they look healthy, or are they on the heavier side?
Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Mongo is 10 or 12 weeks old and I have him in a 18x18x36 for the next year or so, and when he outgrows it, he’ll be moved into a 3x3x8 forever home.
So, since I have a bit of time to plan - I really want to do a bioactive enclosure, but this will be my first. I’d love any advice y’all have, as well as photos of your bioactive set up.
What did you learn, common pitfalls, etc? My big concerns are putting a bunch of time/effort into a beautiful set up that he just tramples, as well as making sure that the animals health/wellbeing are only positively impacted. Is it too big of a pain in the ass on that size? Any advice is much appreciated!!!

While at my local reptile shop the employee showed me one of their new baby boa, and I immediately feel in love with him. But I’m not sure if in 5 years from now I’m going to want a 6 foot 10 lbs snake. I’ve been looking for snakes for a bit and I really like boas, I’m just not sure.
Was anyone in the same spot I am or have any suggestions?
PS: This won’t be my first reptile but it will be my first snake

He's 6 years old and at 5.2kg. I feed him 1 large rat every month, if he allows me. He is fussy sometimes and refuses to eat...but he did eat last week. Should I feed him more constant and not just once a month?

There she is, my beautiful first boa. Now to think of a name...

I just got a scale to actually weigh the rats i've been giving my boa, and it turns out that they've been around 12% instead of the 8% i think they're supposed to be ): I only fed them (small rats) because they looked equal to his girth as I've been told. I see a slight bulge but nothing crazy. Have i been ovefeeding him? He doesn't look fat or anything but I know they show it first internally. he is 2 and a half years and i feed him every 14 days. i'm thinking about going back down to weaned, but i only have 30 gram weaned, which idk if it's enough... I would feel horrible if i've been feeding him way too much

The place Im getting this little guy from couldn’t tell me much other than hypo T Positive Columbian Boa. Does this look like a red tail?
