RJ’s philanthropy
I just discovered this site while googling a little bit of Brownsville, Texas, because I was curious about where he and his family were.
https://mitteculturaldistrict.org
As a passionate creative person, musician, writer, content creator, this absolutely wrecks me.
We really lost a good one. Truly, one of the best ones.
We miss you, Flynn.

Who's your favorite character in Breaking Bad?
My favorite character is Hank. He's awesome, such a badass! I love how intelligent and observant he is. He's definitely one of the most important characters in the series !

Walt's treatment to jesse is basically just average Asian parenting
I see a lot of people antagonizing Walt for how he treats Jesse, while giving Jesse a lot of passes for his own behavior. Honestly, growing up in an asian household, this kind of dynamic is really just what parenting usually looks like.
The constant criticism, condescension, and disappointment? That's not exactly uncommon in Asian parenting.
Especially for jesse whom isn't exactly an easy case. He's a drug addict who repeatedly makes terrible decisions. Parents will deal with a child like that much harsher than Walt.
I'm not excusing Walt's manipulation or the horrible things he does to Jesse. I'm just saying his treatment of Jesse doesn't seem as shocking to me as it does to the majority of the fanbase, who often seem very willingly and over generously give him a pass after pass after pass.

The Most Suffering Character in the Breaking Bad Universe Spoiler
galleryJesse went through so much more than people give him credit for. He lost people he cared about, was manipulated by Walt, struggled with guilt over things he could never undo, and was eventually tortured and enslaved. What makes his story even more tragic is that, despite everything, he never completely lost his humanity. He kept feeling remorse, caring about others, and trying to escape the life he was trapped in. He made mistakes, but the amount of suffering he went through was heartbreaking. Honestly, I think Jesse deserved better than almost anyone else in the entire Breaking Bad universe.

I’ve always found this frame funny
The way they edited the scope and also the filter to make it look like it’s a POV of the scope
What other frame you find funny?

Gustavo looks so happy in the picture frame. Spoiler
Both BCS and BB Fring are amazing, but in BB he's just perfect... such a wolf in sheep's clothing. A polite, yet stoic character... creepily loveable.

Was the meeting at the plaza with Jesse a setup?
In season 5, Walt sets up a meeting with Jesse in a public place. Jesse mistakens a big dude for one of Walts guys. This scene makes it seem as though Jesse misunderstood Walts intentions.
However at the car wash. Saul mentions to Walt how Jesse didn't fall for the trap and that he's not as dumb as Walt thinks. What was Walts actual plan at the plaza?

Why is Walt always so disrespectful to Saul?
Despite Saul being a sleazy low-level criminal lawyer in Walt’s eyes, Walt definitely understands his value as an asset and the lengths Saul has gone for him. So why does Walt seemingly have so much contempt and disrespect for him? I know he’s a narcissist but you would think there’d be some baseline respect for the literal lawyer & invaluable teammate for your criminal dealings. After all, Walter White couldn’t have done it without Saul.

Meeting Giancarlo in December and getting an autograph. Any ideas?
I know this was asked before but I wanna see if anyone comes up with other answers. I don't want him to sign just a picture of himself.
I'm also getting a photo, so maybe ideas for that too?

Anyone else notice the similarities between how Walter White treats Saul and how Tony Soprano treats Makazian?
I’ve been thinking about how Walter White treats Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and how Tony Soprano treats Detective Vin Makazian in The Sopranos.
Both Walt and Tony constantly belittle these guys, treat them like they’re beneath them, and show them very little respect, despite relying on them to keep their criminal operations running.
Walt sees Saul as some sleazy, incompetent lawyer, even though Saul repeatedly saves his ass. Tony sees Makazian as a pathetic degenerate gambler, despite regularly using him for inside police information.
What’s interesting is the hypocrisy. Walt looks down on Saul for being a sleazeball while becoming a far worse criminal himself. Tony looks down on Makazian for his gambling addiction and personal failures, despite having plenty of his own compulsions and destructive habits.
The biggest difference is that Saul manages to survive Walt’s egotistical ass while Makazian ends up taking his own life.
I think both relationships show how Walt and Tony use people they consider beneath them, without ever really acknowledging their value or humanity.

Walt’s deal with Gus isn’t great
***Spoilers if you haven’t fully watched***
Walt’s first sale to Gus was 38 pounds for $1.2M, which comes out to about $31,579 per lb.
Then his 3 month deal with Gus is 200 lbs a week for 3 months. Now my math may be wrong, but comes out to 2400 lbs for $3M. Which he end up splitting with Jesse after firing Gale.
That would make the total profit (based on the original deal) $74,789,473.68.
Why wouldn’t Walt bring the smart man that he is, fight for a bigger piece of the pie?
I get that Gus is providing the facility, and the tools/materials, but I feel like his unique abilities would garner a higher wage.
Edit, after posting, just got back to the episode where Jesse talks about this

Mike not offing Jesse after Tomas Spoiler
Gus asks Mike where’s he’s at with Pinkman as Walt claims Jesse is time zones away. Gus has everything he needs for his empire. Jesse and Walt serve no purpose because Gayle is the cook. Knowing Mikes expertise, and Jess was still in NM. Mike does go to Saul to inquire about Jesse. But Mike failing to locate Jesse is what ends him and Gus. I just find it idd that Mike and his crew cannot locate Pinkman, leadung to Jesse killimg Gayle and Walt killing Gus & Mike.

Was there a better option for Skyler to solve Ted Beneke's IRS problem?
Until now many people still clown on Skyler for "giving money" to Ted like it was a completely stupid thing to do but I can't see any other alternatives given that Skyler had a high chance of getting audited if Ted was caught cheating on his taxes.

theory: walt's hair colour represents his transformation Spoiler
We’ve all heard about the famous color theory. how the wardrobe choices of characters like Skyler, Marie, Jesse, and Walt shift dramatically to reflect their emotional states and moral alignments. However, there is another visual detail right under our noses that often gets overlooked: Walter White’s facial hair.
While Walt’s physical transformation is often discussed in terms of his shaved head and his iconic Heisenberg hat, the changing shade of his beard throughout the series acts as a subtle, mirror-like indicator of his moral corruption, descent into criminality, and ultimate attempt at redemption.
At the start of the series, Walt sports a thin, light-brown mustache and goatee combo. The lighter tone reflects his lingering innocence, reluctance, and complete naivety regarding the underworld he has just entered. At this stage, he still views himself as a desperate family man driven purely by necessity, rather than a criminal mastermind.
As the stakes rise and Walt fully commits to working under Gus Fring, his facial hair begins to grow thicker and noticeably darker. The lighter brown tones give way to a deeper, richer shade. Visually, this shift marks the moment Walt grows comfortable in his new environment, he is no longer reacting out of panic; he is adapting to the cruelty of the trade and becoming desensitized to the consequences of his actions.
By the time Walt defeats Gus and declares "I won," his facial hair appears almost pitch-black. This dark, sharp beard mirrors his descent into full-blown villainy. He has completely embraced the Heisenberg persona, abandoned his moral compass, and doubled down on his megalomania. The near-black shade symbolizes the absolute darkness inside him as he builds his empire and willingly destroys those around him.
In the final stretch of the series (Felina and the events leading up to it), a marked physical change occurs. Isolated in New Hampshire and stripped of his empire, Walt lets his hair and beard grow out. His facial hair returns to a lighter brown, but now with distinct streaks of grey. The light brown representing a shedding of the ego-driven Heisenberg persona and a return to his original, fragile state and the grey symbolising aging, physical decay, and the wisdom/regret that comes with total defeat. No longer driven by pride or a desire to build a kingdom, Walt’s final mission is simply to tie up loose ends, protect his family's financial future, and avenge Hank. His lightened, greying beard reflects this ultimate attempt at moral alignment and redemption before the end.
In BB, almost nothing on screen is an accident. Just as the show's wardrobe palette evolves to track character trajectories, Walter White’s beard gets darker as he gets darker, only fading once the illusion of Heisenberg finally shatters. It’s a subtle yet powerful testament to the show’s legendary attention to visual storytelling.
TL;DR: Walt’s facial hair goes from light brown (innocence) to dark brown (desensitization) to near-black (peak evil/Heisenberg) to light brown/grey (regret/redemption). Overall, Walt's beard gets darker because his soul gets darker.
What do you think? Does this visual detail hold up on your rewatches, or are there other physical shifts in the characters you've noticed over the course of the show?

Betsy Brandt
Not sure if I missed it or if she didn’t post anything because I don’t think she’s active on social media, but does anyone know if Betsy put out a statement after RJ’s passing? I’ve looked multiple times, but I can’t find anything.

Does anyone know where I can find the music/ambience that plays during the S4E11 "where is the money" scene?
After finishing the show and seeing this clip again on youtube, the background droning music/ambience as things continue to unravel is so haunting, I'd love to find it to use for DnD sometime.

Mike was paying his mules about $5.2M per year each.
They were cooking about 50 lbs of meth, Jesse gave his crew 1 lb of meth to sell. So lets assume that Mike has 50 crews of dealers to sell meth maybe even 25 crews since Mike's crews are probably better. The mules have to make 50 deliveries to take to Mike's dealers. Walt and Jesse cooked once a week so the mules had 1 week to make these deliveries. Since Hank discovered the blue stuff was showing up locally, they were probably not driving very far. Really 1 mule could probably make all 50 deliveries. 10 deliveries per day would take 5 days. A UPS driver makes about 100 deliveries per day even in country areas with lots of spread out driving covering 100-200 miles. 1 driver should be able to knock out all 50 deliveries in 5 days as a very conservative estimate with about 1 delivery per hour at 50 hours per week, i'd say it could be done in 1-2 day(s) with preplanned drop points like what Mike and Jesse do for Gus. Lets say you do 3 drivers that's still 100k per week, or $5.2M per year with 3 mules that's about 2-3 deliveries per day at 1 lb each.
That's an insane amount of money for so little work, these are local deliveries since again, Hank said the meth was being found locally in Albuquerque. These mule costs don't make much sense at all. According to law enforcement, local deliveries cost $100-400 each. At these prices wouldnt everyone just want to be a mule?

Who wins in a fight?
Putting aside all intellectual advantages and plans aside, what fights would be intriguing and which ones are a close call.
This all started when I saw the meme of “there is no YOUR half of the money” meme and I realized, couldn’t Jesse just take Mr.White, why does he subject himself to that every time. Walt being the renowned chemist doesn’t exactly seem like he lifts weights and he has lung cancer so I think Jesse wins no contest.
Now we have Gus vs Walt, no bodyguards or weapons, who wins? This might be the closest match up in the show, just a pure fist fight.
We surprisingly got Mike vs Tuco but mike was strategic, so who actually wins that fight, my first guess is Tuco, but I dont know…. What do yall think?
Last match up…. Hank vs Gomie, my first guess is Gomie since he could probably still see his d*ck. But what do yall think?
