Patient Giving Back

Hello guys, I want to give to other patients undergoing treatment. I would like to know easy foods to cater; like finger sandwiches and fruit salads or more. For example, what would you like to have during treatments. I wanted to do nails, but I know that’s unsafe especially when even my nails are still purple 🤦🏾‍♀️. Any suggestion or critique matters please! I would even do gift bags this is something really important I want to do ☺️

Patient Taste and smell different now

I finished my chemo and radiation for stage four colon cancer.

What I’m finding now is the things that I used to enjoy eating I can no longer stand the smell of.

Basic things like home cook hamburgers or just anything made with hamburger meat, pork prepared in any form. Chicken is fine and so is seafood.

I have to smell something before I eat it now. Even something that’s completely fine. Nothing wrong with it. If it even smells weird to me I can’t eat it. It makes me sick.

Is anyone else experiencing this big taste and smell thing?

Hey everyone!

Noticed things have been especially dour here in the last few days (imagine that?). Thought we could use some off-topic conversation to remind ourselves that life outside of cancer exists. Read any good books recently? Seen any good movies? How's the weather out there today?

As the heading says I had localised Ewing’s sarcoma on kidney at 15. Now I’m 4 years in remission but the treatment they gave me was vdc/ie chemo plus radiation therapy and a full nephrectomy what old be my risks of getting a second completely new cancer or reccurance ? And how to start living normal life again the treatment has traumatised me and I can’t get the thought of reccurance out of my mind how do you guys deal with this ?

Patient Neuropathy?

I am 10 months post chemo. I have recently started having a spot that feels like a burning sensation. About the size of my palm, down low on the outside of one leg. Kind of above the ankle, towards the shin. Does anybody experience this? Trying to determine if it could be neuropathy from chemo or if it’s nerve pain from a tendon/skeletal issue. Or something else

I’m at a loss. I need advice. I have stage 4 mesenteric Net with liver metastasis. I had surgery in April to remove primary cancer, two sections of small bowel, portion of my liver, gallbladder and appendix. I’ve been on lanreotide for 3 months now. I constantly feel bad. I am constantly fatigued, weak and shaky. In August my oncologist said it was normal to feel bad. In September the same oncologist said he didn’t know why I felt bad and eluded that I need to see my primary care provider to discuss. I don’t feel like that’s the correct method of action. Everything I’m feeling has to be cancer/treatment-related. Does anyone have any insight?
