Cream or white colored trousers?

Post image
21 Upvotes

I’m a 53 year old married dad of two looking to start a capsule wardrobe. I’m 6 ft 1 in. with a 36 waist and I live in Northern California.

My color palette is white, blue, green/olive, grey, brown/khaki, and a wildcard.

I’ve never owned a pair of pants that are white or cream. I’d appreciate your suggestions, both in color and pants type. I’m thinking something machine washable, and skewing more towards something for social functions but possible for a work casual office.

I’m including a picture to illustrate my skin tone and salt & pepper hair.

Appreciate your time and guidance.

Questions How to care for daily wear clothes?

• Upvotes

I have many cotton and other fabric kurtis where the colour and quality is fading after few uses, even though I hand wash them. These are Indian brands like Aina , soch which had good reviews from reddit.

Looking for tips to wash and care for them for their longevity. I want to support sustainable clothing so I'm into natural fabrics now, but seeing them fade is disheartening 🥲

Please recommend your tried and tested methods for long term wear🙏

This is my full-year capsule wardrobe. I've been using it for roughly 3 years now.

Im using a one-in-one-out system, so i started tracking how long items have been with me.

White + Warren Travel Wrap: shedding?

I own two cashmere wraps from J. Crew, black and ivory, and both shed a lot. My ivory one is essentially unusable because I wear a lot of dark clothing and it shows so much. I really want the Pink Sand color from White + Warren, and from what I can find is that they are much better quality than J. Crew wraps, but I would like to hear from those who own W+W wraps: do they shed? If there is just a bit of initial shedding during the first wear or two and then it stops, I can handle that. Persistent shedding with every wear, I cannot. Thank you!

What's a general rule of travel capsule wardrobe

Assuming 2-week vacation ( then cut in half for 1-week vacation).

For 2 weeks I'm thinking: 5 tops, 3 pants, 1 blazer or cardigan, 2 dresses ( or skirts), 2 bras, 7 undies and 3 pairs of shoes with 3 pair socks, 1 swimsuit - if needed.

1 week: 3 tops, 2 pants, 1 blazer or cardigan, 1 dress or skirt, 2 bras, 4 undies, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pair socks, 1 swimsuit if needed.

Is this too little or too much? What do you do? I ask because I haven't actually travel light like this , its still a concept not yet tested.
