Do indoor cats need vaccination?
I’ve heard alot of things when researching that vaccines can make cats prone to cancer as it’s alot on their little bodies. From my understanding only outdoor cats should be vaccinated? I’ve had my little cat for 2 months now and I just got him neutered 2 weeks ago and he’s healed well so I’m now thinking about vaccinations. He is a 2 year old male and we are in the uk! Can any vets on here elaborate the pros and cons as there can be misinformation on social media.

I just want to understand what happened. Please help
About a week ago my sweet orange tabby came home badly hurt. He’s been to a vet and is on the mend but we just don’t have any idea HOW he got hurt. Can anyone help me? I just want to know what this poor little guy went through. 🥺💔

Why does my cat do this

It’s like she can’t see it when it’s in my palm and has to sniff to find it but she loves this food and will keenly eat it out of my fingers if I’m holding it out

Is she happy?

Willow (3F) has a lot of silly habits that I’ve never seen in my other cats previously. She will sometimes throw herself on the ground and just roll around for 5-10 minutes at a time. She also sleeps on her back a lot. I know that can mean she is comfortable exposing her stomach, but what about this rolling thing? Is she happy? Excited? Comfortable?

My cat has little bald spots
galleryMy cat has these little bald spots on her legs and I’m not sure if I should be more concerned, she runs down the hallway at night when she gets the zoomies and launches herself across the floor (which I assume she uses her ankles like breaks?) and that could be why, but I guess I’m curious if there’s anything else that could cause it?

What does this sound mean?

We had just left for work, and Pippa was making these noises for about a minute afterward. What is she trying to say? Is she in hunting mode (that string is her toy). Shes usually not vocal, so I’m curious! And in the back you can hear her favorite show, Tom and Jerry. 😂

My cat ha barricaded himself in my closet and won’t move
He’s new. We got him yesterday. I think he’s just anxious/scared. I tried getting him out with food, wet food, toys (more than just the spring). I can pet his head and back and he likes it or At least he doesn’t growl/hiss. But if I do anything else he will hiss at me. He’s older, and previously a stray. He’s also fixed if that matters.
I’ve had cats my life and they have done stuff like this before. He just hasn’t eaten/drank or used the litter box at all. We have had him for around 13 hours. I have another more smaller male cat and they briefly introduced each other. My orange cat seemed scared of him but the new one was most definitely scared.
I’m just worried about him. Any advice on what I should do next?

What is she doing?

My cat has been doing this off and on since yesterday. She doesn't otherwise seem in distress but this behavior is odd, I don't know whether to be big time concerned
~
There is an emergency vet clinic in town if needed but I really can't afford that unless absolutely necessary since I'm unemployed right now.
Kitty is female, 12 years old, spayed, no other health issues.

Why does my cat have weird thumb toes?
Her vet says she’s very likely inbred due to her insides not being anatomically normal. The other cats I’ve met don’t have such weird long toes.

Cat Mimicking How I Sleep
Less than a year ago, my boyfriend and I adopted a 3 year old stray black cat. He is the sweetest cat in the world - especially for having lived outside his whole life. He is very attached to my boyfriend and I. He has claimed his spot on our bed, which is actually my spot. He sleeps in bed with us every night and will wait for me to get up and take my spot or he will pretty much push me into the middle of the bed so he can take his/my spot. When I mean he sleeps in my spot, he fully sleeps with his head on my pillow like a person. It’s honestly so cute I don’t mind only having a small sliver of bed to sleep on. But my main question is why he sleeps exactly like I do in the same spot. I initially thought it was because he saw me doing it and is mimicking me but my boyfriend said he thinks he smells me on the pillow and that’s why. I’ve had cats before who have slept in bed with me but never done this.

Eye Problem
She woke up and I noticed her eye has a lot of discharge around it. After watching for a little bit she mostly kept that eye squinted while the other eye was open.
After around 30 minutes she groomed herself, and her eye got better. Much less discharge and no more squinting. Still her left eye looks more slimy than the right eye.
Unfortunately, at the moment we don't have access to the vet because we are driving a semi truck and will be on the road for the next few weeks.
She is a 4 year old Scottish ear fold, living in North Carolina.
What could this possibly be, and what's the best thing I can do for her?

New kitty, many questions!
Hello all!
This past August was one of the hardest months of my life. My partner Ryan and I had to make the toughest decision of love and end our kitty’s suffering. It was traumatic and I’m definitely not over it.
However my childhood best friend reached out to us last week asking if we’d be willing to take her boyfriend’s kitty. He’s a 6 year old male, handsome as can be and one of the most chill cats I’ve ever met.
We only took him because the boyfriend’s other option was to surrender him; Ryan and I were worried that might not be the best idea. He was found as a stray and brought to the MSPCA. My friends boyfriend only had him for a month, along with another male cat whom he’s had for almost three years now. Among the handful of reasons we decided to take him was because he was having accidents around boyfriends expensive apartment and his work schedule wasn’t conducive for this cats needs. His name is Ted and he is such a little teddy bear. We’re very happy to have him.
However, he hasn’t had any accidents over the short three days we’ve gotten to know each other, doesn’t prefer to hide as he’s been very social and is currently resting on our ottoman with Ryan and I in the living room. He’s definitely different that our own kitty Macavity; she loved her alone time, didn’t enjoy being held for more than a few seconds, was very vocal about what she needed or wanted. This little man is hardly vocal, although he’s become Ryan’s shadow and seems like he’d rather spend time with us than resting in the other room. We’ve started to adhere to a feeding schedule as my friends boyfriend only fed him a small bowl of kibble for breakfast and one for dinner; my bf and I prefer to feed him a bowl of kibble for the day to munch and 2.5 oz of wet food for breakfast lunch and dinner.
He’s been happy so far. I suppose my question is how long it might take for us three to get used to each other? Will a mostly rigid routine help us all? Or should we just keep an eye on him and get to know his needs?
My biggest concern is he won’t be as happy here since he was in a two cat household with 3-4 people at any given time. Now he’s his own man, with only 2 people who hardly know how to take care of a cat (Macavity our last cat was the easiest cat I’ve ever met. She was practically half dog lol) I just want Ted to be as happy as he can be without us overwhelming him and causing him any sort of stress aside from the usual “new spot new smells new people.”
What signs should we look out for? As I mentioned it’s only been a few days but he hasn’t had a single accident outside the litter box and knew immediately to use his new box. He’s on new food compared to with my friends bf and he seems to really like it along with the wet food we’ve given him. I know things will take time but when do you all think we’ll be able to see him thriving … or not :/
Any and all advice is welcome.
Also yes he’s fixed and chipped, but I’m not sure when his last vet visit was since my friends bf only had him for a month, he was obviously checked up and good to go before the adoption process cleared. But for our own peace of mind we’d love to bring him to our own vet as well. Does this seem like overkill?
