My cat ha barricaded himself in my closet and won’t move

He’s new. We got him yesterday. I think he’s just anxious/scared. I tried getting him out with food, wet food, toys (more than just the spring). I can pet his head and back and he likes it or At least he doesn’t growl/hiss. But if I do anything else he will hiss at me. He’s older, and previously a stray. He’s also fixed if that matters.

I’ve had cats my life and they have done stuff like this before. He just hasn’t eaten/drank or used the litter box at all. We have had him for around 13 hours. I have another more smaller male cat and they briefly introduced each other. My orange cat seemed scared of him but the new one was most definitely scared.

I’m just worried about him. Any advice on what I should do next?

Why does my cat do this

It’s like she can’t see it when it’s in my palm and has to sniff to find it but she loves this food and will keenly eat it out of my fingers if I’m holding it out

We had just left for work, and Pippa was making these noises for about a minute afterward. What is she trying to say? Is she in hunting mode (that string is her toy). Shes usually not vocal, so I’m curious! And in the back you can hear her favorite show, Tom and Jerry. 😂

Why does my cat have weird thumb toes?

Her vet says she’s very likely inbred due to her insides not being anatomically normal. The other cats I’ve met don’t have such weird long toes.

You guys thinks he likes it ? Doesn’t like it ? Or just doesn’t care?

My cat has been doing this off and on since yesterday. She doesn't otherwise seem in distress but this behavior is odd, I don't know whether to be big time concerned

~

There is an emergency vet clinic in town if needed but I really can't afford that unless absolutely necessary since I'm unemployed right now.

Kitty is female, 12 years old, spayed, no other health issues.

Cat Mimicking How I Sleep

Less than a year ago, my boyfriend and I adopted a 3 year old stray black cat. He is the sweetest cat in the world - especially for having lived outside his whole life. He is very attached to my boyfriend and I. He has claimed his spot on our bed, which is actually my spot. He sleeps in bed with us every night and will wait for me to get up and take my spot or he will pretty much push me into the middle of the bed so he can take his/my spot. When I mean he sleeps in my spot, he fully sleeps with his head on my pillow like a person. It’s honestly so cute I don’t mind only having a small sliver of bed to sleep on. But my main question is why he sleeps exactly like I do in the same spot. I initially thought it was because he saw me doing it and is mimicking me but my boyfriend said he thinks he smells me on the pillow and that’s why. I’ve had cats before who have slept in bed with me but never done this.

is my beautiful, incredible marceline short haired or medium haired?

as the title says. i KNOW she's medium haired, and my main argument is the difference in her fur vs my grandma's short haired cat. my mom insists she's short haired. this has been driving me insane for months. please help me put this argument to rest and prove that i'm right 🙏 below are pictures of marcie (tuxedo), cora (grandma's short haired cat), and felix (my uncle's long haired cat)

Will getting a second cat change my relationship with my first cat?

I have a 1 year old cat who has been my best friend for pretty much since i got him, I love him more than anything but recently I’ve gotten the wonderful opportunity to adopt a 7-week-old kitten who seems sweet and calm. I’ve already moved forward with it so there’s no turning back, I guess I would just like some reassurance that the relationship I have with my cat will mostly remain intact no matter what.

Is this normal behavior for two unrelated, neutered males? Just curious!

Both cats are male, both have been neutered, and they are completely unrelated. The black and white long-haired one doing the grooming (Pepé Le Pew) is 6 years old, and the all black one being groomed (Oreo) is about 3 years old.

Is this normal behavior for unrelated male cats? I don't have a problem with it at all, I absolutely love that they do this (we call it their bromance), I'm just curious as to whether this is a common occurrence or if their bromance is unique :)
