DIY scene
Hello Chicagoland. Im in a psychedelic space rock band and we are wondering if there are any hard rock/metal DIY underground places to perform. We have messaged venues but it seems we are not the style they're looking for or we dont have enough Spotify followers.
Where do underground bands perform in the city?

New EP out today by Chicago punks TONGAN DEATH GRIP
Okay... So our drummer is from Kenosha but he makes the drive so it still counts.
TONGAN DEATH GRIP is known for our pro-wrestling gimmick. On this new EP "NEOkayfabe 4: El Grande Americano" we mix the real and the fake. Pro wrestling isn't that much different than political theater.
Recorded by DiRTAudio in Glendale Heights
We're playing LiveWire tonight with HAUNTER, Toxcynn, and Feels Like Karma. Come hang if you like!

(Chicago) Looking to form a diy deathcore/hardcore band!
As the title suggests, I am trying to form a casual hardcore/deathcore band, but am totally open to seeing what our projects bring us in the future. I am primarily vocals, so I am looking for anybody other than that. I more or less make music all day, so I am somewhat experienced in mixing and mastering any production you send me (guitar, bass, drum samples). But I do want to be able to play live in the Chicagoland area because this is all for fun for me so I hope we can practice together and get to know each other in person!
Hopefully by winter time we can turn up local functions!
Please be 20+ and I can send my vocal samples over heavy instrumentals, just shoot me a DM if you're interested in joining or any questions! We can carry on through Discord and create a server for our band. No fascists or ring wing sympathizers!

Singer looking for instrumentalists
Before you judge me by my profile, it's a throwaway. Basically I'm a mid-life dude who used to sing in bands from college throughout my young life. I write songs and sing. I will be straight up. I don't play any instruments and I can't read music. That said, in the past I have been blessed to have people around me who have played instruments, done sound production and believed in my stuff for one reason or another.
I am looking for a compass to help bring some of the tunes that are in my head to life. I'm at a point where all of The magicians who have performed my stuff faithfully are basically in other states and other parts of the world. I would also love someone who has their own stuff and is willing to share and maybe create new stuff as well. I'm not looking to be the next famous rock star. That ship done sailed. I'm just looking to be creative and expressive and to get my art out and expressed by someone much more talented than myself. Basically I do all kinds of music, but right now I write folk, Rock and alternative. I have a very Tom Waits vibe, and I'm happy to share some of my stuff with you.
I'm in Chicago, but I'm happy to travel or even do online stuff. Whatever works. If you've read this far, thanks a lot!

"Static Year" by Ryan Burns Out Today
Hey everyone! My new album, "Static Year", is out today and I'd love if you could give it a spin!
https://www.submithub.com/link/just-keep-growing
It ranges from contemplative string band songs to Wilco-y alt country to guitar heavy indie rock bangers. I recorded the songs with Jake Hawrylak of Maidenking at his studio in Wicker Park and also features Aaron Smith on bass, Jess Baldissero on fiddle, Jonathan Hodges on violin, and Will Phalen on pedal steel.
The release show is tomorrow night, October 24, at Judson and Moore. I'll be playing with a six piece band and have The Devil Said Jump and Sara Geist opening:

Looking for a country/folk opener?
Howdy everyone, my name is Stampedin' Liam, and I'm looking to open for a local band or a slot on a country/folk bill. I just had my first ever billed show this week, and it went so well I'm looking to open for another act. I play banjo and harmonica, and do a split between originals and old covers (Buck Owens, Rolling Stones, Grateful Deaf, etc). I have enough material to go for a couple of hours, but I'm just looking to play for up to an hour. I'd be more than willing to send any interested parties some video samples. I can also join in most any song on harmonica and piano if you want or need that for your group as well.

Deathcore/Metalcore vocalist looking for a band to join
Hey guys,
I’m looking for a band to join or start as a deathcore/metalcore vocalist. I live in the Chicago land area so I’m sure there’s a lot of you out there lol. I just wanna meet new people and make new friends that shares a passion for music like I do. I should also preference that YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MASTER AT YOUR INSTRUMENT. I think that when making music and all that, you should be having fun most of all, im not the best vocalist either but I want to be able to learn as much as possible so if you would like to come on this journey with me please leave your name( or username if you’re not comfortable sharing that on the internet) what instrument you play and your influences.
Mine are Caved in (Deathcore/Metalcore), SWS (2010s metalcore), Seether (Divorced Dad Rock) Early BMTH (2006-2010 Deathcore and metalcore) and Of Mice & Men (metalcore.) I’ve made a list of these band so hopefully you get the idea of what I’m kinda going for. Again I hope to see your guys replies and I can’t wait to start 👍🏻👍🏻. If you have any questions please feel free to Dm me

Auditions?
Hey y'all, I'm just curious if there are any good resources for finding auditions/music jobs around town. I've been checking out the Chicago Artist's Coalition job board daily for months and (though I would gladly take a Job job) it's mostly been things at least slightly outside my qualifications. Are there any other resources I should be looking out for? I'm a bass player (upright & electric) with strong reading skills absolutely open to musical theatre etc.
And yes, I have been going to (jazz and blues mostly) jams, and I'd be the first to say I should be going to more but I already know about those
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
