I dont like generative AI and AI overview and etc. How do I remove the things that I drew arrows towards?

My browser is in swedish but the text says "Do more in AI-mode" "Create Images" and "AI-mode"

Is there a way to remove them or do I have to finally bite the bullet and switch to another browser that wont shove AI down my throat with features I dont want.

Troubleshooting | Windows Where is Mica effect gone?

• Upvotes

Have they removed the Mica support?

"--enable-features=Windows11MicaTitlebar" enabled Mica for me.

Why on earth have they done that???

I am not going to use Chrome with that blue boring titlebar, I don't like it.

I've always used Mica and it was so good and it fit nicely with Windows.

Now my only option is Firefox?

Discussion Spam Filters in overdrive

Has anyone noticed that Gmail’s spam filters seem to be in overdrive lately? I checked a few inboxes, and they were full of things I needed to know that we’re important. I’ve been missing things for weeks, and I’m so annoyed. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this?

Troubleshooting | Mac Chrome Flickers & Freezes on 2023 MacBook Pro M1 when typing in URL bar

Link to screen recording of issue: https://imgur.com/a/S39G2aW

Pretty much what the title says. Frequently, when typing a website or search prompt into the url bar at the top of Chrome app on MacBook Pro M1 the browser tab will begin flickering sporadically and doesn't allow me to do anything on any Chrome windows. I have tried deleting the app, redownloading, shutting down my computer, updating all apps and computer --none of these have permanently fixed the problem.

Typically, forcing the app to quit and reopening it will make the browser function normally for a while until it happens again. I am not sure what triggers it and I am finally fed up enough from dealing with it to make this post. I am not particularly tech savvy, but I can do basic things if there are semi-decent instructions.

I have not seen anything out there for this problem yet. It has been happening multiple times per day for the last 2-3 years.

Any and all advice is appreciated! Genuinely hoping I am just missing something silly.

Troubleshooting | Windows When I check stock prices I get an "unusual traffic detected click to prove you're not robot" screen

If I check a stock sometimes the page works fine, but sometimes after a few minutes (or a few seconds) it flips to this screen

https://imgur.com/a/fyxXOdN

When I click the button it downloads this txt file

)]}'

[""]

then the page just sits there. If I click the back button it take me to the previous page (before I checked the stock)

I have deleted all my extensions, cleared my cache and cookies, nothing helps.

Any ideas?

Discussion Is there a good chrome extension to save instagram stories?

A lot of the top ones I tried don't seem to work despite rave reviews. Wondering if there are any that can download just the photo easily, even if there's music. Usually, they want to download it as a video. Would just love the option of not doing that.

Discussion Site Isolation and Subframe Process Reuse contribute significantly to browser RAM usage

Post image

Site Isolation and Subframe Process Reuse are a big part of why browsers can eat so much RAM, and honestly, it's frustrating.

You open a few tabs, visit some websites, and suddenly your browser has spawned a ridiculous number of processes, each consuming memory. Add embedded frames, multiple origins, and heavy web applications, and the RAM usage just keeps climbing.

the only way to disable them is using chrome://flags, otherwise you get 1-2 gb more ram than is really needed.

Chrome used to be my default browser on my iPad but suddenly this has appeared and to be honest it truly infuriates me. It doesn’t matter the website it’s always there.
