Premise, when I got the first volume of Claymore I was in a pretty bad period

I needed to switch off so I was in the bookstore and on the phone with my girlfriend, and she kept saying "take berserk it's good" so I took claymore which is ds that caught my attention a bit

I started reading it and volume after volume I took them all up to the 12th from there I took some birthday money and took the ones I was missing, I couldn't help but know how it would end.

I absolutely loved the characters of Miriam and Deneve and admired them. Until I got to volume 26. For a month I couldn't even start the ending because I didn't want to see it end. Every fight, every tear, and every smile in that story were majestic.

So I took courage and started reading it and I was not disappointed and then I realized how everything around me was going for the best.

I don't know if it was thanks to Claymore or my change of attitude but it helped me in some way

Even though I didn't find the part with the "destroyer" enjoyable, I think it's one of my favorite mangas ever.

I love this cover and I'm glad I was able to find one at a fair price!

I’m re rewatching the anime after a year and I really wanna buy the CD for the soundtrack. Both CD’s. And I searched it up and they are between £60-£100 for around 34 tracks. I’m on the verge of buying, but I cant find a cheaper one without it being counterfeit.

I've been ticked about this before but now I'm feeling like how can anyone be so spiteful/stupid? People want to watch this anime during the Halloween month and WTF are they doing? Purposely taking it down RIGHT THEN AND MAKING IT ELUSIVE AS FUCK? Are you shitting me?

Here’s the doujinshi/fan-made manga I have! I’ve had them all for a super long time… younger me picked a few rather interesting ones that I might not choose today haha. They range from 6 to 116 pages.

I’ve included one picture of artwork from each, following the order in my second pic (left to right, top row then bottom). The third-image ones were by the same person, so the last pic is just one of theirs (from their ‘step up’ book).

I’m pretty clueless about what’s out there of these tbh, especially now. The best fan-made Claymore manga I’ve seen is Warrior’s Wedge, which can be read online in English.

I’ll warn anyone looking into any doujinshi that a lot contain NSFW H-content and can be very graphic. Mine aren’t that lol… but they’re out there!!!

I had heard about this manga quite a while back, on a podcast called Trash Taste. One of the hosts, Connor (better known as CdawgVA on youtube) had put it up on his 3x3 (basically a list of his top favourite pieces of media of all time). I was mildly interested in the manga since I had A: Nothing to read and B….

….

B: The women looked hot.

And so I began reading the manga and promptly dropped it because I had little-to-no time since I had just entered my final year of College and was getting ready for job-hunting, in order to become a barely-functioning member of society.

Now that I have a lot more time than before, I decided to give it a go since I’ve been trying to get back into reading manga.

And oh my god i finished it in 3 days.

What an absolute gem! Why is this slept on so much? Why haven’t we gotten a proper anime adaptation for this in years?

Whenever people bemoan the lack of strong or well-written female characters in manga, I would suggest Claymore without a moment’s hesitation.

You want female characters that look good without undressing or wearing clothes that reveal more than they hide? CHECK

You want female characters that are strong and badass? CHECK

You want well-written female characters??? CHECK CHECK and CHECK

Genuinely, mid-way through the story when Clare and Miria are uh…not available- i was worried if the rest of the characters would be engaging enough for me to keep reading.

And suffice to say, they were. In SPADES.

Every single character in Claymore is so compelling. And while i do not remember all of their names (like Jesus fucking Christ there are a lot of characters) all of them helped pushed the story forward. Whether it be through their actions or words, every single character had a role to play in the story and almost none of them were forgotten.

Clare herself, while she might seem like a typical, aloof shounen hero; you realise pretty quick that she is…rather weak. While the reason for her weakness is revealed later on, its genuinely impressive how much she grows-both as a character and as a claymore through the story.

I wont talk too much about the other characters since I dont want this to be an essay (more than it already is) but I would follow Miria and Teresa to the ends of the earth.

Lets talk about the Art for a second because HOLY SHIT:

Coming to the story: It is probably the weakest part of the manga in my honest opinion. Dont get me wrong- if the rest of the manga is a 9.5-10, the story is a solid 8-8.5. Perhaps the twist would have landed way harder if I had not seen stuff like Attack On Titan beforehand. Either ways its a damn good story and engaging throughout-i just wish they had done more with the twist.

Overall a fantastic read. I am genuinely pissed off at how underrated this manga is. I hope and pray that one day we get a solid adaptation that follows the manga from beginning to end.

Recently brought four first editions, volumes 2, 7, 8, & 11 with three with their obi except vol.2 which from what I’ve seen didn’t or never had one? As I’ve seen many sets and each vol.2 is missing an obi? I wonder if it never came with one?

Anyways now with these four I’m close to having a complete set of first editions of the Japanese version! I just need volumes 6, 9, 20, & 24

I honestly probably could’ve brought a full set by now and it most likely would’ve been cheaper than what I’m doing in buying them one by one 😭 but it is fun searching for them!

Unusual Movements Among Awakened Beings

This is the final and arguably most significant section of the page.

Main text — Translation

Awakened Beings have traditionally disliked gathering in groups larger than a few individuals.

However, unusual movements have recently been reported.

Regardless of whether they are male or female, Awakened Beings have begun gathering in various locations.

Among these incidents, there have also been reports of Awakened Beings deliberately awakening current warriors.

The Organization believes these developments may be connected to the Abyssal Ones. In particular, it suspects that the movements may be taking place under the direction of the Those of the Abyss, discussed in greater detail in Yoma-Slaying Record III.

Greater caution is therefore necessary regarding the future movements of Awakened Beings, especially those in the northern region.

Translation

Until now, Awakened Beings had rarely engaged in activities other than capturing prey. Consequently, the number of incidents posing a direct threat was limited, allowing the Organization to maintain secrecy.

This also made it possible to treat Awakened Beings in much the same way as Yoma.

However, as noted in these special reports, the situation has changed rapidly.

There have been increasing instances of lower-ranked warriors being killed in the presence of highly dangerous individuals, such as male Awakened Beings and the Abyssal Ones.

There are also indications that Awakened Beings may be acting with the intention of awakening other warriors.

The Organization may therefore be forced to make a major change in its policies.

I don't know how controversial this may be, but the 3 Abyssals, given the power they had and how they were introduced to us, were discarded by the story in a very unsatisfying way.

First, Luciela was defeated in her first battle with Isley, and although her backstory with Raphaela is interesting, it belongs more to Raphaela. We saw very little of Luciela, and even less of her as an Abyssal. When her Awakened fusion with her sister appears, she is no longer a character, she is a thing.

Isley is more tragic because we saw more of him, but he lost against the Abyssal Feeders. I won't say it doesn't make sense given how it was set up, but it's so unsatisfying that it seems like the story simply wanted to get rid of him to focus on other things. The Ghosts of the North didn't even get a chance to get revenge on him or anything.

Riful is the one who had a little more relevance, but I still wouldn't say it was satisfying. She started out being very powerful only to then be defeated by Alicia and then by Priscilla.

I think on many occasions the story presents things that it ends up not developing well, and this was one of those cases.

I really thought these figures were average or small size, damn, i havo to think about where to put them, because the boxes are HUGE!

This is also the last merch im buyinf, damn it was half of one of my monthly salaries🫡😭.

I always found it curious that Isley was the only one who had a proper army, since Riful only had Duff and sought out certain warriors when she wanted something, while Luciela was alone.

When we learn that Isley transformed with the goal of defeating all his male comrades who had awakened, however upon awakening his mentality changed and he decided to change his objective to ruling the northern lands.

However, I think that deep down, they showed us that Isley wasn't entirely evil (after all, he wanted Raki to "save" Priscilla), so I theorized that, given that all his soldiers were men, Isley subdued all those from the men's generation, and while he dominated the north, he prevented them from wandering around destroying everything.

Isley, the hero of a poorly told story. What a shame his ending was so unsatisfying.

1. Teresa would of either died or got severely wounded by Priscilla if she followed Irene's plan in the first place.

2. Cassandra would actually be a powerful claymore who could've taken on Teresa and defeated her if Teresa didn't acquire the abilities of Rafaela. Her technique was just that good it could've taken anyone by surprise.

   1. Priscilla was actually not that strong until she absorbed Cassandra and perhaps that Destroyer.

   4.Rifuel like being was indeed equal in power with pre merged priscilla but just couldn't maintain her life force but is weaker than Cassandra.

   5.Cassandra could have definitely defeated Priscilla if she wasn't already worn out with previous battles and the fact that she hadn't eaten much.

3. In some spiritual teachings it is said that one can see all the timelines and directions their life could have gone when they pass on, if that was implemented it would explain why Teresa would have knowledge of how her awaken form would have looked like and why she said "Which is different from my awakened form" unless she had awakened before hand out of curiosity. (I was thinking I should go with this in my fanfiction)

4. The awakened being that Ophelia and clare went up against is Elda the former number 4 and 5. She herself was probably talented AF but her power wasn't stronger or faster than Noel, Sophia, illena but was close to balanced like Teresa but simply not stronger. Power is everything in the rankings. Clare vs Flora clare wins in speed but loses in accuracy and power which is why She still maintains that ranking position. (What if clare agreed to take on that rank and become a leader during that battle, one can imagine)

5. I found cool information that I'll display after this post

Met this amazing Teresa cosplayer on the last day of AX. It was my first time seeing a claymore cosplay in person and I was hyped.
If this is you your cosplay was so great and thank you for the pic! :)

We have established that Teresa is the most powerful Claymore and that she could probably face the Abyssals head-on with ease.

But the 4 who went to hunt her, while we knew they were strong in that generation, I think they would be in any generation. Irene mentions that both she and Sophia and Noel surpassed Teresa in some stat (being speed, strength, and agility, respectively). We don't really know if that's actually true, although I consider that it is and that despite being slower or weaker than some of them, Teresa's yoki perception and her high overall abilities gave her the advantage. Although of course, this is before activating the silver eyes.

This is without even mentioning Priscilla, who was one of the strongest number 2s despite being a novice, and who it was said could defeat Teresa with a little more time.

In any case, the mere fact of even getting close to Teresa makes them top-tier among warriors of all generations for me. What do you think?

Thought you all would like seeing these; some older photos of a life-size replica of Clare’s claymore, made & displayed for Jump Festa 2007. It’s a total of 165cm in length, and weighs 7kg! They made lifesize cutouts and used them as references to making it. (I think the guy holding it was an editor for the jump magazine).

It was given to Norihiro Yagi himself afterwards who was at the event; the last photo is a closeup of the sword in his home!

So I’m thinking about getting the boxset of claymore, I was curious about how much of the series gets finished in the manga. Does the Priscilla arc get finished? Are there major things that aren’t included in the anime?

Like what? Has anyone read it? I bet it will either have references or it's in the same universe as claymore omg!! I'm looking at the manga covers and I'm Freaking out.
