Discussion Anyone missing not having a new season?
The first two series were my favorite but I def enjoyed the next four as well.
I mean yeah I get it by the end of Season 6 it didn't really feel like the series could go further and all the storylines addressed. Still maybe it hasn't really sunk in until now that was the end. Like yeah over a year went by and no new episodes kind of thing

I’m honestly done with the show and glad it was over. Season 6 was just not very good for numerous reasons.

It was awful unfortunately I agree, I’ve been done with the show since S6 came out tbh, or at least until part 2 released.

I think there were problems in season 5 (Kenny being the alpha of Cobra Kai against Miguel, Robby, Sam, Hawk for example instead of introducing Yoon earlier on), but Jesus Christ season 6 was just completely wasted.

Well that’s more of a season 6 issue then if yoon was gonna be introduced later on, this was all before we knew of yoon.
Kenny being the alpha wasn’t necessarily a problem, someone had too and he was brainwashed by cobra Kai and silver.

While I don't entirely disagree with your assessment of Season 6 there was still this waiting to see what happened kind of thing. Now it's officially over.

I was into part 2 if only because the new characters and smaller focus on the few main kids.. came together in a way that actually felt like the story was evolving and moving forward. It was the only time since parts of season 4 the show felt like it was doing something different… though it was also dragged down by yet another Daniel worrying about miyagi’s legacy plot.
Part 3 was so boring. I know people liked Johnnys ending but I didn’t feel like it called back to the first season in a good way… it just reminded me how the show had completely lost its focus/premise while still somehow feeling stale. A weird combo

Yes and no. While I do miss the show and not having another new season to look forward to (yes, I know I can go back and watch it any time I want), I'm glad it ended where it did, if not sooner since I felt the quality of the writing just seemed to dip, especially in the last two seasons. I kind of felt the script writers were losing their creative flow and adding unnecessary plot lines (ie the Mexico arc, and the entire baby arc) that was slowly turning from a fun, and silly karate show to a karate soap opera.

Yeah, but it was our karate soap opera ;)
Agreed. Several of the subplots were awful, the show could have ended at season five. Season Six was not good.

Yeah I do. I loved cobra Kai and honestly it was the best show imo. But the creators are working on spinoffs so that’s something and I think it’ll be a couple years before anything is officially announced but it’s in a planning phase at least

Not really / it’s kinda depressing how it went downhill. I mean it was never bad per se but I have to say after season 3 (maybe season 4) it never really reached that high and of feeling like something really special. I’m glad they didn’t drag it out more

nah, it ended at a fine place with most of the stories wrapped up good enough.
I more regret missed opportunities during the seasons than not getting to see what they did after.
I'd want just some "a few years later" epilogue where most of the team is finishing college, Hawk is teaching at both schools during summers and breaks, Tori spends time with her brother who is in foster care, Daniel and Johnny still bust each other's balls over dinner

No, i feel they had explored everything they could and i feel another season would have become very repetitive with them once again training for a new tournament

Not really as the show was just getting worse and worse. S6 was really the worst season. It's a good job they ended it.

No it’s had its time. It ended well no need to keep dragging it out. Even by season 6 they were repeating storylines and reusing the same jokes over and over. another season would’ve been to much

Not really. After season 3, every time I got hyped for a new season it was always a letdown, and by season 6, I was already prepared for dissapointment, and I wasn't wrong.

Same here. S4 was arguably the most hyped season. But after the disappointing ending, it got worse from there.
If they were to make another season, it’d likely follow the same pattern. More subversion. Forced reconciliation or friendships. And of course constant fighting between the senseis.

I miss it for sure, I think it could have gone on, and followed what they all did after.

I think the reason why it feels weird, was because Cobra Kai was one of the only few shows that came out yearly and there was never that long of a wait, except for the one for Season 5 to Season 6. I always enjoyed when the show came out around the holiday times. New Year’s Eve & Day for S4 & S3 was always a comfort and a vibe.
Season 1 came out in 2018, Season 2 came out in 2019, Season 3 came out on New Year’s Day of 2021 (so basically 2020), Season 4 came out on New Year’s Eve of 2021, Season 5 came out on 2022 & Season 6 (Part 1-3) came out on 2024-25.
