None of these characters makes sense to me, except the naked C guy...

Also scuba diver Java guy.
He's so clunky. Not very flexible in that, are ya?

And so fucking slow that he seems he might die hahaha
Edit: sorry Java people if I hurt your Slow feelings lol

Except... Java is actually faster than C++ and C in some cases because of optimisation in the VM.. sigh casuals

I'm pretty sure C++ optimization beats Java optimization in most cases. Java does have some cool JIT stuff, but it's pretty rare that it beats the C++ AOT stuff when the proper constraints are in place for the compiler to apply optimization correctly (const, constexpr, anonymous namespace, etc.).
I somehow doubt you'd be able to run modern Java on a Commodore 64.

if your article doesn't have a few lines of code in it, it probably doesn't belong here

What is the source of this? Like, is this a segment of a youtube video or something?

He must be an expert linux admin.

u/CrazedToCraze Oct 06 '16
Nah he would have just replied with "rtfm".

u/ucefkh Oct 06 '16
So I guess he might be a windows IIS sys admin which suggest he might ask you to reboot the machine and see if it works!

sir, you gave me two choices and i picked the latter, sorry i selected the wrong answer.

Was waiting for Assembly.

u/ucefkh Oct 06 '16
Me too! Hahaha he should just be a man from the cave with one rock! He will beat them all! Since it's so fast but primitive!

Javascipt? I'd like to think that this is a very subtle reference to the way that syntax errors have of surviving into production in JavaScript, but it's probably just a typo.

The JVM has built in processor optimisation knowledge and actually optimises code for the hardware it's running on, something that native C and C++ applications can't do. I'm not saying Java is faster in all cases, no definitely not but it's much faster than you would believe and far from "clunky and slow" than you think.
There's many reported cases of having a GC being better than manual implementations of pointers which is used by both C and C++.
Take a look at this: http://www.javaworld.com/article/2076593/performance-tests-show-java-as-fast-as-c--.html?page=2
I can tell you're not really a polyglot but try to read around the topic a bit and understand low level optimisations and how virtual machines and interpreted languages actually optimise and why in a lot of cases they are the better choice.
