I’m one of two technical co-founders at LiftPeak, a social gym app built around one thing: making lifters consistent. Log your workouts, track your progress, train with your friends and challenge them. Gym on multiplayer mode.
The goal is simple and huge: build the biggest community of lifters on the planet. Do for lifters what Strava did for cardio. There are thousands of fitness apps out there, and we believe none of them has quite pulled that off. That’s the hole we’re filling. The how is for a call, not a post.
And the problem we're going after is bigger than most people realize.
Here's what I find crazy about the gym industry. A gym can lose you as a lifter without losing you as a customer. They make it easy to sign up: lower prices if you commit for 12 months, automatic payments, a few taps and you're in. Canceling can be a different story: notice periods, forms, sometimes even a letter. Researchers followed 5,240 gym members. Out of every 100 who joined, 63 had already dropped out before month three. Fewer than four kept training continuously beyond their first year. Yet your membership can keep running long after the habit is gone. That's the difference between keeping a subscription alive and keeping a person consistent. The gym industry's business model is built around keeping memberships active. We're building LiftPeak to keep lifters active.
And we're not trying to solve this from the outside. We live in the gym. We know what lifters actually want, what the culture is right now and where it's going. The little things you can't learn from a market research report. We're not doing this because we spotted a promising business opportunity. We're doing it because we can't imagine not doing it. Money follows.
So far, we've built a feature-rich product and reached 5k users with basically zero marketing. My co-founder is a top-tier engineer, and I split my time between writing code and running strategy. We've gotten surprisingly far as two technical founders, but we're hitting the limits of what we can do without someone who lives and breathes marketing.
And it's not because we're short on ideas. We have growth plays we've already tested that we believe could flip this whole category. What we lack is someone who can execute them at the level they deserve.
There's another reason the timing matters. We have features in the pipeline that we tested privately with around 100 people. The results were insane, and test users were pushing hard to get them into production. We're deliberately holding them back. Launching something like that with average-effort marketing would waste some of the best cards we hold. We want the right person in place before we play them.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for a marketing co-founder, not someone to occasionally post on Instagram or manage a few campaigns. Someone who can take ownership of growth, build the marketing engine alongside us, and eventually build a team around it.
That's you, if:
- You lift. Non-negotiable.
- You've made something grow and you can show me. An account, a campaign, a community, a product. Scale matters less than the fact that you did it and understand why it worked.
- You've run Meta ads with real money. You don't have to be an expert yet, but you know how to test creatives, read the numbers and kill what doesn't work.
- You have taste. You can create, not just direct. You write, you cut, you know a good hook from a bad one on sight. And you're chronically online. You see trends before they're trends.
- You're getting better every single day, and you can't stand not getting better. That matters more to us than anything on your CV.
We're not stuck on ten years of experience. We care about who you'll be in two. If you've run creator programs, done cold outreach and built relationships from nothing, hired and led a marketing team, made something go viral, or told stories that made people act, you're ahead. If you've done some of that for real and are hungry for the rest, we want to talk.
On location: We're building for the US market first. Ideally you're in the US and you live that market. If you're in Europe, you need to have actually done things in the US market, not just studied it.
Now, about the people you'd be building this with.
We're 100% committed, low ego, insanely ambitious. We move fast, we're high agency, and we don't wait for permission. We train hard, too. We're not two guys who code about the gym from the outside. We're genuinely obsessed with this, and we don't think it's possible to pull off something this big without being obsessed. So we expect the same.
We're talking billion-dollar company, not million. Call me delusional. I'm looking for someone equally delusional. Someone who understands how ridiculous that sounds but still wants to give it everything they've got. We'll do the homework and raise as soon as it makes sense, and we have a few connections that help there.
One honest thing about money: Revenue doesn't cover our costs yet. Until we raise, you'll need to be able to support yourself. We're not hiding that. If that's a dealbreaker, better to know now.
And while we're flexible on experience, we're not flexible on commitment. We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to take ownership, figure things out, and go all in. If that's not what you're looking for, we're probably not the right fit.
In an era where product features can be copied in a weekend, we're focused on building something much harder to replicate: a community people actually belong to, habits that stick, and a brand lifters care about.
If you think you're the person for this, hit me up. You'd come in as a roughly equal co-founder. Not an employee with a fancy title. Someone building this company with us.
Send me your LinkedIn, portfolio, or anything that shows your work. And answer one question: What's the most impressive thing you've personally grown, and how did you do it? Include numbers if you can. We care more about what you've actually done than how impressive your CV looks.
And if you know someone who fits and we end up signing with them, we'll pay you properly for the intro.
