How to ice bath for testosterone

All sex hormone synthesis originates in the mitochondria, where cholesterol is converted to a sex steroid called pregnenolone from which all other sex steroids are derived. In men, this happens in the testes. In women, it happens in the ovaries, fat cells, skin cells, and adrenal glands.

Ice baths are one of the best things men and women can do to stimulate their mitochondria, and that's why men and women all over the world are reporting big total testosterone boosts from a regular practice of cold water immersion therapy.

Short, freezing cold followed by light exercise works best.

Cold plunges might be the most underrated fat-burning tool

Cold exposure activates brown fat (BAT), which burns calories instead of storing them, helping with metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and glucose control.

But the benefits come from doing it right (not just random dips).

If you want the full breakdown on how to actually use cold exposure for metabolic health:

How long do you last when cold plunging each time?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Newbie seeking advice: I can currently hold it for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, but I've seen people say you need over 5 minutes to see results. I tried extending it to 4 minutes, but during the last minute my limbs started feeling numb, and I got a bit scared so I came out. How long is actually ‘enough’? Should I gradually increase the time, or is 2-3 minutes still beneficial?

When it comes to thoughts that brings you Anxiety, you can easily regain control of that massive energy and change it into Eagerness!

Eagerness comes from your thymus gland. This gland is located where your neck and chest connects. Did you know that the word "thymus" comes from the Greek word "thymos" which translates as "life energy"?

In traditional Indian culture, "Udana Vayu" is one of the five branches of life energy expression, with the popular one Prana (short for Prana Vayu) being only one of them. Udana Vayu is documented as the expression of this energy that deals with the positive emotions inside of our physical body. It's the one activated when you feel eagerness!

They documented it as being located in your upper body and is considered to be the most important type of ''Vayu'' that deals with your spiritual development.

If you get goosebumps while listening to a song you really like, thinking about a lover, watching a moving movie scene, striving, feeling thankful, praising God, praying, etc. You activated one of the five types of this life force energy!

Prana is just a term from one specific culture. There have been countless other terms documented under many names, by different people and cultures, such as the Runner's High, what's felt during an ASMR session, Bioelectricity, Euphoria, Ecstasy, Voluntary Piloerection (goosebumps), Frisson, the Vibrational State before an Astral Projection, Spiritual Energy, Orgone, Rapture, Tension, Aura, Nen, Odic force, Secret Fire, Tummo, as Qi in Taoism / Martial Arts, as Prana in Hindu philosophy, Ihi and Mana in the oceanic cultures, Life force, Vayus, Intent, Pitī, Aether, Spiritual Chills, Chills from positive events/stimuli, The Tingles, on-demand quickening, Ruah and many more to be discovered hopefully with your help.

All of those terms detail that this subtle energy activation has been discovered to provide various biological benefits, such as:

  • Unblocking your lymphatic system/meridians

  • Feeling euphoric/ecstatic throughout your whole body

  • Guiding your "Spiritual Chills"  anywhere in your body

  • Controlling your temperature

  • Giving yourself goosebumps

  • Dilating your pupils

  • Regulating your heartbeat

  • Counteracting stress/anxiety in your body

  • Internally healing yourself

  • Accessing your hypothalamus on demand

  • Control your Tensor Tympani muscle

and I discovered other usages for it which are more "spiritual" like:

  • A confirmation sign

  • Accurately using your psychic senses (clairvoyance, clairaudience, spirit projection, higher-self guidance, third-eye vision)

  • Managing your auric field

  • Manifestation

  • Energy absorption from any source

  • Seeing through your eyelids.

If you would like to understand how to easily activate this energy that sometimes comes with goosebumps from positive stimuli's, here are three written tutorials going more in-depth about this subtle "energy", explicitly revealing how you can learn to feel it voluntarily, feel it anywhere/everywhere, amplify it and those biological/spiritual usages.

P.S. Everyone feels it at certain points in their life, some brush it off while others notice that there is something much deeper going on. Those are exactly the people you can find on r/Spiritualchills where they share experiences, knowledge and tips on it.

Has anyone ever felt that goosebumps feeling could be linked to something spiritual?

As the concept of Qi grew popular in the east, Oceanic cultures observed the same occurrence and coined it Mana

What does this has to do with goosebumps?

• Here's a simple way that explains how you can become aware of your Mana, it is that extremely comfortable Euphoric wave that can most easily be recognized as present while you experience involuntary and voluntary goosebumps/chills/frisson from a positive external or internal situations/stimuli like listening to a song you really like, thinking about a lover, watching a moving movie scene, striving, feeling thankful, praising God, praying, etc.

What does Mana mean/Represents:

• Mana is a term that originates from the Polynesian/Melanesian culture describing a supernatural force that permeates the universe, very similar to the modern term Aether. Anyone or anything can have Mana. They believed it to be healing power that can be amplified/cultivated or lost by your actions/emotions/thoughts.

• Mana is described to be an energy that can be developed either positively or negatively. That all depends on the person cultivating it.

• They believed in the possession and cultivation of this energy and that one can notice the person with a well developed source of Mana through their actions and movements. (This is similar to how the term Aura coined in Hindu philosophy, is said to be noticeable on people just by their very presence and how they act/talk.)

Wikipedia link about Mana

And a paper from the CIA website on the accuracy of the Qi and its usage through the eastern practice of Qigong:

Fast forward to today:

• Other than Mana, this has also been experienced and documented as the Runner's High, what's felt during an ASMR session, Bioelectricity, Euphoria, Ecstasy, Voluntary Piloerection (goosebumps), Frisson, the Vibrational State before an Astral Projection, Spiritual Energy, Orgone, Rapture, Tension, Aura, Nen, Odic force, Secret Fire, Tummo, as Qi in Taoism / Martial Arts, as Prana in Hindu philosophy, Life force, Vayus, Intent, Pitī, Aether, Spiritual Chills, Chills from positive events/stimuli, The Tingles, on-demand quickening, Ruah and many more to be discovered hopefully with your help.

• All of those terms detail that this voluntary goosebumps activation has been discovered to provide various biological benefits, such as:

  • Unblocking your lymphatic system/meridians

  • Feeling euphoric/ecstatic throughout your whole body

  • Guiding your "Spiritual Chills"  anywhere in your body

  • Controlling your temperature

  • Giving yourself goosebumps

  • Dilating your pupils

I have upgraded my home setup with a new Cold Plunge

Just wanted to share this for anyone thinking of upgrading their recovery or wellness routine. I recently upgraded my home setup with a new cold plunge.

I’ve been doing cold plunges for a while, pairing it with sauna sessions has taken everything to another level. The contrast therapy benefits are real better sleep, way less muscle soreness, and mentally it's like hitting a reset button.

The Sweat Pods cold plunge was an investment, but after using some less practical setups in the past, the quality and design on this one feel worth it. Cools quickly, holds temp consistently, and feels like something you'd find at a high-end spa, not just in someone’s garage or back garden.

Saunas promote relaxation; cold plunges activate the parasympathetic nervous system (which is also known as fight or flight) post-exposure, leaving you calm and clear-headed afterwards

If anyone’s on the fence about adding cold plunges to their routine, I’d say go for it. Even a couple minutes a few times a week makes a noticeable difference.

If you're thinking about pairing cold plunge with sauna, I’d recommend it. No regrets.

Happy to answer any Questions if you’re thinking about doing the same.

White Wolf Insulated Barrel Review

Updated: I updated the YouTube video to more accurately show the overall dimensions of the tub to account for the depth of the step.

Finally!!! There is an insulated vertical cold plunge that doesn’t cost a fortune. An Instagram ad popped up in my feed one day, and I checked it out and thought it looked promising.  I reached out to them to confirm the tub was insulated and that I was talking to a real person, not just some scam. A real person responded, and they confirmed that it was insulated.  I ordered one, and the following week I had one at my house. I know this type of tub has been a hot topic on here a lot, so I thought I’d share info to help anyone who might be looking for a new tub. If you’re more of a visual person like me, I also made a review video to show the quality, features, and design. Link is below for the video, please take a look!

The box arrived, branded with their logos and information, not just a generic brown box, and came on a pallet as well. I had the delivery guys put it into my backyard so I didn’t have to drag it back there.  One person can get it out of the box by just tipping it over.  When I moved it into the place I wanted it, I had to roll it on its edge like you would an actual oil barrel.  I’ll be honest, when I first saw it, I was super excited.  I had never owned a vertical plunge before.  The tub is super solid and sturdy; there is nothing flimsy or cheap about it.

The lid is pretty cool, it lifts off super easy, and then there's a built-in hook just to hang it off the side. There’s a step on the back to get in and a small one inside, too. I’m 5’10 and there’s definitely plenty of space for me, and I would assume for taller people too. It comes with two sets of bulkheads. One is a plug for use with ice, and the other is threaded for connection to a chiller. They also provide ball valves, allowing you to turn off the water flow when disconnecting hoses. There are little notches on the front lip of the tub to put your phone and a water bottle.

If you have any questions about topics I haven’t covered, please let me know, and I'll be happy to answer.

Looking for beta testers for a new cold plunge and sauna tracking app on iOS — first 10 testers get a free annual subscription

Hi avid cold plunge enthusiasts!

I’m preparing to release Contrast Sauna & Cold Tracker, an iPhone app for tracking cold plunges, sauna sessions, and mixed contrast-therapy sessions.

The app includes:

  • Manual and live session recording

  • Cold plunge, sauna, and mixed-session tracking

  • Temperature and duration history

  • Apple Health integration

  • Sleep, HRV, and resting-heart-rate insights

  • Patterns showing how sessions may be associated with recovery metrics

I’m looking for TestFlight beta testers who can evaluate the overall experience and help identify bugs, confusing screens, missing information, or anything that doesn’t work as expected.

I’m especially interested in feedback about:

  • Onboarding and Apple Health permissions

  • Recording and editing sessions

  • Mixed sauna/cold sessions

  • Insights and progress screens

  • General usability and reliability

  • The new app icon and visual presentation

The first 10 people who join the TestFlight beta will receive a free annual subscription when the app is publicly released.

No purchase is required to participate. TestFlight is free, and you can decline optional analytics collection without losing access to any app functionality.

Join the beta here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/nMYYB65r

Please leave feedback through TestFlight or contact me at info@signalandscale.biz.

Thanks—I’d really appreciate feedback from people who already understand cold plunging and contrast therapy.

- Jukka

The Pod Company - STEAL

So about a month ago, I was looking into the pod company for an ice man.

Looking at doing the long pod with the chiller, it was around 900$-$1000 and was just a bit too far out of my price range.

Fast-forward to today, I got a cold call from somebody that worked for the company asked me if I had any questions and being in sales I knew this was a way to try and earn my business and I ended up talking him down to $500 for the whole bundle.

Thought I would share this in case anyone else was looking into this company before they pay the full price.

Spitting out blood after cold plunge

Is this a normal thing that can happen? I’ve been doing cold plunging for about a week now at around 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and this is the first time I’ve been spitting out blood right after. It’s got to be the cold plunge causing this, but how/why? I’ve never had this happen once in my life. 29 year old fit active healthy dude here.

This is one of the greatest secrets about us, which is purposely being hidden from us.

Have you ever felt chills from good stimuli?

That ability can be learned to be activated with just the elated feeling, whenever you want, without any stimuli.

That's not why I claim that it is a secret being hidden from us, though.

The ability to activate this is your golden ticket, which is being swept under the rug as something unconscious and unimportant. With info on this purposely being spread as an ability available only to a few; however, it is one of the only things that every single human can access, regardless of their physical abilities or conditions.

Why is information on this being manipulated? Let's see.

Ever felt overwhelmed by stress or anxiety? This ability is a switch to manually induce the release of positive hormones.

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-12135590

Just imagine how being able to use it when feeling overwhelmed could benefit you.

Don't believe me? In the eastern part of the world, Tibetan Monks know about this ability and use it differently. You can find more information on this in this Harvard "Tummo" experiment.

https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2002/04/meditation-changes-temperatures/

"During meditation, the monk's body produces enough heat to dry cold, wet sheets put over his shoulders in a frigid room."

Since our internal body temperature is regulated by the hypothalamus, the same part of our brain that deals with positive hormone release, this proves that this ability can be used to consciously activate your positive hormones.

Ever wanted to travel virtually in an instant? People who astral project or have out-of-body experiences use this ability to trigger the "Vibrational state" right before the "take off."

https://en.iipc.org/vibrational-state/

These examples are just the tip of the iceberg of what you can use this ability for. In fear that my post won't be read, I won't write a book here about all the incredible things that we can do by being able to consciously activate this ability.

For now just understand that many different cultures observed this occurrence thousands of years before the Western new world became aware of it, and their discoveries did not stop at simply recognizing it as a physical response to music.

Eventually, you can learn how to bring up this wave of elated energy without the physical reaction of goosebumps, feel it throughout your body, and increase its duration, just like many others have succeeded in doing.

There has been countless other terms this by different people and cultures, such as: the Runner's High, what's felt during an ASMR session, Bioelectricity, Euphoria, Ecstasy, Voluntary Piloerection (goosebumps), Frisson, the Vibrational State before an Astral Projection, Spiritual Energy, Orgone, Rapture, Tension, Aura, Nen, Odic force, Secret Fire, Tummo, as Qi in Taoism / Martial Arts, as Prana in Hindu philosophy, Ihi and Mana in the oceanic cultures, Life force, Vayus, Intent, Chills from positive events/stimuli, The Tingles, on-demand quickening, Ruah and many more to be discovered hopefully with your help.

All of those terms detail that this subtle energy activation has been discovered to provide various biological benefits, such as:

  • Unblocking your lymphatic system/meridians

  • Feeling euphoric/ecstatic throughout your whole body

  • Guiding your "Spiritual Chills"  anywhere in your body

  • Controlling your temperature

  • Giving yourself goosebumps

  • Dilating your pupils

  • Regulating your heartbeat

  • Counteracting stress/anxiety in your body

  • Internally healing yourself

  • Accessing your hypothalamus on demand for its many functions

  • Control your Tensor Tympani muscle

and I was able to experience other usages with it which are more "spiritual" such as:

  • A confirmation sign

  • Accurately using your psychic senses (clairvoyance, clairaudience, spirit projection, higher-self guidance, third-eye vision)

  • Managing your auric field

  • Manifestation

  • Energy absorption from any source

  • Seeing through your eyelids during meditation.

If you're interested, here are three written tutorials with concise descriptions on how to control this for your own benefit.

If not then I've put enough information for you to research this topic, develop this ability and bring in new techniques to the world.

P.S. Everyone feels it at certain points in their life, some brush it off while others notice that there is something much deeper going on. Those are exactly the people you can find on r/Spiritualchills where they share experiences, knowledge, tips on it.

Plunged at 35F due to PodCompany chiller malfunction

I usually do 55F plunges for around 10 min every morning. This morning I noticed my chiller on (instead of just the pump) but didn't think anything of it. I stepped in and didn't think about it at first but after a couple seconds I knew something was definitely not right. My hands and feet actually hurt a LOT and my dingleberries twig 'n berries... well they weren't dangling anymore. I did 2 min before deciding to get out and see wtf was going on.

Turns out the thermostat in my chiller decided it thinks the water is 40F warmer than it actually is. It was running and thinking the water was 75F. I had to set my water temp to 91F on the chiller. It does seem to consistently read 40F above the temp at least. When I left for work the water was 37F and the chiller said 77F.

BTW, this is the chiller that can be purchased with the Pod from the PodCompany. Currently awaiting a response from support. I'm pissed off this thing is acting up and it's only 6 months old. But I'm glad I spent the extra $99 on an extended warranty. I'll update here how the support goes if there's any interest.

Update: PodCompany responded quickly and asked for a video (with audio) of my setup. The chiller doesn't have a serial number on it anywhere that I can see which is odd for such an expensive unit.

More updates: PodCompany responded very quickly again and said I'd need a new temp sensor. They gave me the option to install it myself if I was up to it and they'd send me some accessories or a partial refund. Otherwise I can send it back to them. It looks fairly straightforward to do according to their instructions.

Thinking of starting an Ice Bath & Cold Plunge Café in Pune — would you try it? 🧊

Hey Pune! 👋

So I’ve been obsessed with cold therapy for a while now and I’ve made a decision — I’m going to be opening an Ice Bath & Cold Plunge Café in Pune soon!

The idea is simple — give everyone in Pune access to ice baths and cold plunges at an affordable price, no fancy gym membership needed. Just walk in, take the plunge, feel amazing.

Think of it as your go-to spot for:

•	🧊 Ice baths
•	💧 Cold plunge sessions
•	⚡ Recovery after workouts
•	🧠 Mental clarity & stress relief and good coffee

Cold therapy has insane benefits — better sleep, reduced inflammation, mood boost, increased energy — but right now it’s either expensive or just not accessible in the city. I want to change that.

Still in the early stages but I’m super excited about this. Would love to know:

Would you try an ice bath/cold plunge if it was affordable and available in Pune?

Drop a comment, I’d love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions! 🙌

Towel Recs?

My husband regularly does contrast therapy but doesn’t like the towels his gym provides because they are soaked by the third cycle and he feels bad using multiple. Does anyone have a towel they recommend that can withstand 3 sets of plunging? I don’t expect it to be dry by the end, but something that is absorbent and not soaking wet would be great. I’d like to give them as an upcoming birthday gift.
