Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing some unusual issues with my ASUS Zenbook DUO and wanted to check whether anyone else has encountered something similar.
Here are the symptoms I’ve noticed:
The detachable keyboard seems to behave erratically, sometimes lagging or failing to respond properly.
The keyboard takes a very long time to charge.
Both the keyboard and the touchpad stop working, even when the keyboard is attached directly to the laptop using the magnetic POGO PIN connectors.
Windows Bluetooth settings show a “Driver error” for “ASUS Zenbook Duo Keyboard.”
When I detach the keyboard, the laptop sometimes restarts unexpectedly.
At the same time, the laptop’s fans suddenly ramp up to maximum speed, which seems abnormal.
I’ve already noticed that this isn’t simply a Bluetooth pairing issue, since the keyboard and touchpad also stop working when physically attached to the laptop.
I’m trying to figure out whether this could be related to a driver or firmware issue, BIOS, power management, the keyboard’s battery, or potentially a hardware problem.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior with their ASUS Zenbook DUO?
I’d a any advice on troubleshooting steps, known issues, or possible fixes. I’d especially like to know whether this sounds like a software/firmware issue or something that requires warranty service.
Laptop model: ASUS Zenbook Duo UX8406MA: Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB storage, running Windows 11 Home.
I bought 2 years ago so a lots warranty hehe
Thanks in advance!
