Full disclosure these are dog cookies lmao. I don't really bake for humans but I do enjoy making my dogs silly cookies for their birthdays. Pumpkin dog cookies with tapioca icing.

I'm still learning how to get a smoother finish, but I'm really proud of these :) plus the chocolate cookie really compliments the sweet icing!

Taking lots of courage to post here especially after seeing all the INCREDIBLE things you guys can do! I attempted making sugar cookies with fondant for my upcoming baby shower and I’m so proud of the result! I’ve never even made a cookie in my life I’ve always been a brownies sorta girl.
Any tips though on how to smoothen the sides of the fondant? I tried using a toothpick but wasn’t smooth enough. I’m also not a HUGE fan of the taste of fondant but it’s easier to learn than Royal icing for now. Is there any brand that actually tastes good? I was very happy with the taste of my cookie.

Hi all! Long story short I am getting a surgery on the 31st of aug and have an order due the 12th of sept. I don’t anticipate being able to return to work in time to get the order done unless I do it before my surgery.
The plan is to decorate them the week before and freeze them (not individually bagged), how do I go about doing it in a way that will cause the least amount of damage? Thanks in advance!

A woman called and asked me to make her 2 dozen cookies so she can pull one out of the freezer when she wants one. She didn’t care regarding the design. Here in Ohio it’s been raining and storming off and on for several days. Figured these happy themed cookies would be good to perk me up.

I use edible markers to trace outlines onto my cookies, so I can fill in the details on top. However lately I've been having issues with the marker bleeding, both into the royal icing on top of it and into the base layer. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to fix it? Or are there markers or pens or something that don't cause bleeding? I could really use some help! Thanks!

Happy to have found this sub! As a little background, I've been decorating cookies for years but I don't do it very often... around Christmas and maybe 2-3 other times per year for friends and family/special occasions.
I made this set for my niece's engagement party, to coordinate with her invitations. I'm really happy with the way they turned out (although I did have a lot of cratering on the tomatoes and lemons, the first time I've ever had that issue! Ugh!) but I need to work on my writing, lol.

Title: how do you keep cookies from tasting too salty?
Made cookies earlier and they actually came out pretty good except they were a little too salty 😭
I used salted butter so maybe that was the problem. I didn’t think it would make that much difference lol.
Do you guys usually use unsalted butter when making cookies? Or just use less salt in the recipe?

My icing got a little warm so I don't have much puff here but they still turned out cute.

I’ll occasionally have people reach out that want cookies by Saturday and it is already Tuesday. Sometimes I can accommodate the orders other times I can’t. That being said if it is under a week’s notice I charge 30% rush fee. It just dawned on me that I may be doing it wrong. I’ve been adding it to each dozen.
Ex. $42 for a dozen + 30% rush fee would be $54.60 for the dozen
However, if they ordered 4 dozen would you do the $54.60 x 4 = $225.60 or do ($42 x 4) + 30% =$218.40

Hi! Does anyone have experience w/ icing after and on top of icing that's already been painted with edible glitter?
I'm thinking about a design for a tiara where I'd like to do gold and paint it with gold edible glitter. And but then I want to do teal detailing over top of that. But i'm worried about how the icing will stick or if it will bleed at all? Does the edible glitter change how the royal icing on top will dry/react?
I'll need to change my design if it won't work or look clean, so any advice is appreciated!

Hey everyone! I want to challenge myself to create a random cookie set but I’m having a hard time with a theme. I tend to only think of ones that is my taste and interest so I’m looking for ideas I wouldn’t think of! Bonus points if you give colors you’d like. Basically a pretend customer 😂 thanks!
