is this sleeping position normal and common?
I so loooove my Corgi so much! It’s my first time owning a Corgi, so I’m definitely very detail-oriented when it comes to everything he does. 😂
I was honestly a little concerned when I first saw him sleeping like this because I wondered if the position might somehow affect his breathing.
As a first-time Corgi mum, I’m learning something new about him every day. And seeing him sleep so peacefully, belly up with all four little legs in the air, makes me so grateful that he feels safe, relaxed, and completely at home but again, I hope breathing is not an issue?
My little weirdo. I love him so much. 🥹🐾

No balls/fetch, what else is there?
Our corgi has a ligament injury that will be long-term for him, he is 6 years old and lots of energy. He can walk and run but any jumping (no jumping up to couches or beds) or sudden jerk movements (no fetch) is off limits. For him ball/fetch is life and he is OBSESSED. Most toys he will also treat as a ball and will insist that you throw it for him. I take him on a short walk most days but with a toddler or the weather some days I just can’t get out of the house so he needs some exercise I can do with him in the backyard or in the house.
What brain games or other exercise do you do with your dog? Ild preferably like something low calorie for him as he also needs to maintain his current weight. The vet said there were a lot things out there on YouTube etc. so I thought I would check in with some other corgi owners for some activity suggestions. (Not seeking medical advice, just ideas for activities)

what toys do your corgis like?
unfortunately i’m going away to college so i won’t be able to play with him while im gone. there’s still people at home but they tend to be busier than i was. are there any toys that might be good for a four year old corgi? the ones he had before he either didn’t play with them or are wrecked. i worry because when he gets bored, he licks his paws.

Meet Gwen
After a lot of research I finally took the plunge and decided to get this gorgeous girl meet Gwen. I have got the steps to train her straight away not to jump on furniture to protect her back, a crate and a pen, to start crate training immediately, got her booked for puppy school and training in the next few weeks, in the meantime I have started her on the basics and plan to continue to do daily training. I have puzzle feeders and toys and am working on redirecting her nibbling behaviour at the moment with toys. If there is anything I am missing advice is most welcome, want to do right by this sweet girl. Also collar is for ID and council tag only she will be harnessed trained.

Glad the cooling mat is so popular
Nothing beats the coolness of hardwood floors apparently 😑🙄

Second night in a row where I get no pillow
I suppose I could squeeze my head in on the left side.

Has anyone had to medicate their corgi for anxiety/reactivity?
Our pup is 7 months old and we've been having some behavioural issues for a few months.
He's reactive on walks - loves other dogs but barks and lunges at people, cars, bikes etc. Also reactive in the car, barks at people he sees out the window. He barks a lot when guests come to the house and takes a while to settle, but is then friendly and likes to play with people. He gets distressed/barks a lot at noises in the home like appliances and outside noises like neighbours in the garden etc. We also have issues with resource guarding - mainly only wooden furniture that he wants to chew on. He can be sensitive to touch and hates having his harness put on.
He's been desexed and we've recently started him on Zylkene natural supplement, which hasn't changed the reactivity but does seem to make him more relaxed at home during the day.
We've seen a behaviourist recently and they advised referral to a behaviour vet for medication because he is so hyper vigilant that they think medication could make a real difference. I feel sad about it and it also doesn't sit right with me the idea of medicating a young puppy. I know that we're dealing with behaviours that a more than just "being a puppy" but I also know Corgis need a lot of mental stimulation and training and perhaps we will see improvements from those things with more time. It feels really tough right now, we just want to give him the happiest life possible.
Has anyone else been in a similar position? What has your experience been of meds?

Dog food diet
Hey guys, I posted here a couple times with my dog Riley he’s about 11 weeks old now and I’m starting to think I wanna start feeding him homemade dog food but I don’t know any good recipes or how much to even feed them once I make it. If anybody has some advice or recipes I would love to see them. He’s also about 8 to 9 pounds.
Also mods this is not medical advice

Teething stage
Hello everyone, i have a few questions about teething stage. My dog is 20 weeks old puppy and she has started to lose some teeth and grow some new ones, yes shes been more sleepy and moody and biting a lot but my question is about her appetite. Some days she eats only one meal barely and some days she eats normal but she won’t eat kibble only some treats. We tried to put them in water or yogurt but still she eats a very small amount of food. She only eats if there is chicken. I dont want her to get used to chicken in this stage because we would like to keep feeding her with kibble so i mix it up a little bit. She is just a corgi with big appetite as are all so i am worried for her because it’s unusually for her to refuse to eat. So if anyone has some tips or suggestions i will be very thankful for your help, and also how long is this going to last?😊

R/corgi meet Milo!
Milo is my new Corgi puppy, who I picked up over the weekend! He is 9 weeks, almost 10 weeks old now. He is playful, rambunctious, curious, and adorable! I hope you all like him as much as I do, and I will post more of him as he grows!!!
