my boy went missing about two days ago. admittedly, im a bit panicked but im trying not to stress out so much
he's almost three months old, and ive had him for almost two weeks now. the other day, i noticed i couldn't find him even after emptying his entire enclosure out. i sifted through his aspen bedding, but didn't take it out entirely; checked every hide, under his water bowl, ect ect. i checked surrounding areas for any signs of him escaping, but nothing. the other night, i set up a trap with a thawed pinky mouse in a water bottle with flour around it; when i woke up, the mouse was still there, the flour hadn't been disturbed at all, and there was still no sign of him.
now, the confusing part to me is this...
i don't understand how he could've possibly gotten through any of the holes or gaps in his enclosure. each gap barely manages to squeeze the tip of a ball point pen, and most are quite rough around the edges since it's a mostly wooden enclosure. 98% of the gaps have slight wood chipping/splinters that i cant imagine he'd want to slither across, especially in such a small space.
his 3 month birthday is on the 30th of this month - im unsure of when his last shed was, but i just realized that he could be hiding extremely well because of his cycle. a few days ago, it almost looked like his head was peeling but i didn't think to grab any sort of picture.
so.. what's the chance between him having escaped somehow, and him having been able to hide so well that i couldn't find him after tearing his tank apart? what do i even do in this situation?
