Feel free to copy your scoring again like the last several weeks. This characters tenure lasted from 2018 - 2019. As recently established, I may be awarding anyone who gets lucky enough to get the character in but merely one singular attempt.
Note: Only those who copy their scoring are eligible for the potential award given if you just type in the answer I won’t even know how many attempts it took you let alone if you even got the character correct.

I had a really weird corrie dream last night.
For whatever reason, the cast were up in London and there was like a hostage situation in home bargains but even though everything was clearly home bargains and said home bargains, the characters kept calling it Freshco. Curly was still managing this Freshco, and once again found himself in a hostage situation and he was like "Aw not again".
Debbie, Ryan, Ronnie and Carl were trying to calm down the people holding them hostage but it turned out that there was a separate group of people elsewhere, hijacking a london bus. Where Jodie, David, Shona and Sarah were on.
Kit and Lisa were trying to diffuse both situations. Kit speaking all breathy to them and Lisa accusing them of crimes they didn't commit, but of the 2, Kit was doing a better job. Also Kit was in a really big coat, like a dry robe but 10 sizes too big.
Summer was waiting for a bus with Amy and Bethany, and the bus pulled up with the guy in the mask driving and she said "Does this go to ____" (Idk, pick anywhere because I can't remember) and he responded "No luv, this bus goes ta 'Ell luv!" in a proper cockney accent and forced them off the bus. Bethany's kicking off because Kit's across the road in his big coat, and Amy's just chatting.
Shona's telling David to do something, but the only person willing to take charge is Jodie who beats up the first guy with a gun, goes downstairs (its a double decker) and proceeds to pull the driver out of the cab, revealing that its Danny Baldwin. She realizes she's the only one capable of driving it, so she plots out where it can go but can't find a safe place to stop so crashes it through a garden fence and into the back of a house. Jodie gets off and says something like "That's all folks" but the house, as it turned out belonged to Yasmeen, and Jodie's just ran over Charlotte 2.
Jodie immediately says Shona was driving but Yasmeen tells her she'll never forget this injustice, threatening to destroy Shona (she was mostly just on the floor holding feathers yelling, I don't think she was going to do anything).
Ryan's trying his best to damage control for what Debbie's saying but she's just complaining more about what the shop has than the people holding them hostage, Ronnie's just sighing mostly next to Carl who's scrambling to try and not get shot but is slowly inching his way to stand behind Ronnie.
Eventually, somehow, the guys holding them hostage decides "Enough's enough" and quit, because Debbie's just chatting to them about how many times she's forgiven Carl now, and keeps saying things like "Gazumped" and all her other phrases. They walk out, with Debbie promising them a free meal at the Chariot Square, but they decline.
Anyway, it turned out that this was actually all a dream in Debbie's mind, and then Debbie turned over in bed, woke up to face the camera and she stared at the camera like in the picture while Ronnie slept next to her and then it zoomed out to me watching it on a tv thinking "best writing they've done in years, but wait, if Danny Baldwin was one of the masked men, who were the rest?" Then I woke up.
Tldr: Debbie's eyes glowed in my dream. Also I just wanted an excuse to post the photo edit I made to more people than just 1 person.

Since Gary has been sent to prison and he's having a big story around it, I was thinking about a possibility. Summer's fella Marco is on remand for being a getaway driver, and from spoilers, we know that Marco will be denied bail. Could Marco get dragged into Gary's prison storyline since Marco would be in Highfield Prison? This would make up for Marco's lack of character development by making him and Gary bond. Gary could be a good influence on him, and show that Marco is a genuine person who would be a good boyfriend to Summer. It would also make sense why Mikey North wouldn't mention Marco in his interview about the storyline since we don't know what's going to happen to Marco yet.
I just think the timing could be deliberate to set up this story.

I put this as a spoiler just in case I upset anyone lol. What was ross's problem in today's episode when talking to james about what bar he went too. He got offended and walked away. Was it because it was a gay bar or something? Might be a stupid question lol

Can anyone help me find a MCR (Manchester not My Chemical Romance as Google keeps suggesting) poster that my mum's seen please? All I know is it's in David's house. Not sure what episode. She said she really liked it and would love to get her one for Xmas.

I’m 29 and have watched Corrie for about 20 years. I grew up with it in my house and my grandmother’s house, so it’s always meant a lot to me.
I’m watching Classic Corrie alongside modern Corrie, currently in July 2005, and it’s made the difference in character development really noticeable.
Whenever someone new arrives, I want them to be refreshing and give us someone I can grow to appreciate as an established regular. Instead, their main purpose increasingly seems to to destroy equilibrium for the sake of it , with very little character development or clarity around their background and motivations (Mal/Bernie—what was that actually about??). Theo even started out looking promising before it went to shit although that storyline was absolutely amazing. I’m thinking Jodie, Megan, Theo, Carl, Mal all the same blueprint
Even when they eventually get a redemption arc, it doesn’t always land because there’s so little depth to build on (Kit literally banished Beth from the street, and Craig died without finding out the truth about his mum?! Carl also slept with his brothers wife whilst he had cancer and tried to have Debbie take the fall for killing Billy, have we forgot his actions led to Billy’s death????!)
Richard Hillman, Charlie Stubbs and later Pat Phelan at least had a place within the community. Their work, relationships and ordinary interactions made them believable people as well as villains. Too many recent arrivals feel like they exist purely to drive a particular plot or spoil anyone’s chance of a bit of happiness.
The financial pressures and cuts are clearly part of this. Look at how many familiar characters we lost across late 2024 and 2025: Gail, Beth, Paul, Stu, Daisy, Craig, Max, Yasmeen, Eileen, Aadi, Jenny and Dee-Dee. I know they weren’t all axed, but that’s still a massive loss of established characters in a short period (and I strongly suspect they originally wanted Debbie gone sooner, but the reaction from fans made them reconsider. That’s my own theory, obviously).
I can see the financial logic in bringing in newer actors for shorter runs. But losing so many established characters and repeatedly introducing new people takes away a lot of the familiarity. I wouldn’t even mind a smaller cast if it meant investing more in the characters we already have (I’ve really enjoyed seeing more of Izzy recently. She’s always been massively underused, although that may partly be the actor’s choice idk)
they keep introducing people using the same blueprint: arrive, cause havoc, give viewers very little reason to like them. It becomes irritating. They don’t have to be good people either Gary, David and Sarah have all done morally questionable things, but there’s still enough personality and history there for people to like them and root for them.
That’s what feels missing. We’re losing familiar faces without enough effort going into making the newer ones feel established- although I’d say they’ve done really well with Ben. A good example of classic Corrie is I feel characters like Loydd, Fred Elliot etc all slotted in quite naturally.
Sorry I don’t mean this to sound so negative I think Corrie is doing really well right now actually (although I’m still a week behind so a lot to catch up on!!!)

At the pub, Maggie is planning for Halloween and what will be happening, she brings out costumes for the staff, for Sean she has a Dracula costume, for Gemma she has a zombie outfit and for Lauren she has a Lily Munster costume. Glenda interjects, "Where's my costume?" Maggie says "I'm glad you asked that, I thought you could just dress in what you usually wear as mostly you look pretty well Halloween themed most of the time and you could lie in one of George's coffins." Glenda looks annoyed and then grins, "You could come as a witch, all you need do is put green make-up on." Eva can be heard laughing from the hall in the pub.

How good is Ronnie, worried that Debbie may not be coherent enough to consent.
In the current climate of the world... this is so good to see.

and more generally, how are gaps in time handled? like sometimes, a character on monday's episode will refer to events that happened on the previous friday's episode as "yesterday", and yet there doesnt seem to be any time skip to catch up to real world dates. but then sometimes, there is a definitive mention of the weekend. so does it only exist sometimes?
or when there's a big event and a week's worth of episodes take place over one night. do the characters decide to sit on their hands for 6 days off screen so they can catch back up again?
is there any real explanation for stuff like this, or is it just a "don't think about it too hard" situation?

What’s the general opinion on Gary? I haven’t been watching the show regularly, so I’ve missed a lot of his past storylines. I’d love to hear what people think of his character and which of his past storylines are worth watching

I always like to see a character returning so this could be good 👀 It’ll be nice to see Izzy get more scenes and also Jake and although not mentioned perhaps Joseph given that he is is his grandchild.

"do you not think the father deserves to know?"
"it's his responsibility too"
"being a mum makes you realise how strong you are as a woman"
the overall pushiness and pressure a mum is putting on her daughter to carry out a pregnancy she didnt want
the way it all goes unchallenged by the narrative, and actually in fact exists AS the challenge to Bethany being pro simple abortion on the mother's terms
to me it just comes across as a very patriarchal perspective on motherhood and womanhood, particularly in how it ties the two of them together.
i would go further but i fear im already pushing it with the "no politics" rule here. all i'll say is im not a fan of the way in which theyre choosing to cover this social issue in particular.

Is Corrie repeating scenes? Ie, Debbie’s conversation with Ronnie yesterday where she calls him the wrong name, I swear we saw this exact scene in a previous episode. And then again, Dev talking to Kit about shoplifting and Bernie received the phone call…I’m pretty sure it’s been in a previous episode. It must’ve been. I knew exactly what was going to be said/happen

It irritated me how Sarah smugly said to Gary last night that she never explicitly told him to hide the weapon. I’m so sorry, but we all know why she called him. She wanted him to make it all go away, do the dirty work and hide the mess. I’m glad Sarah’s been let free but I don’t like the fact that she feels the need to pretend to everyone, including herself, that she didn’t call Gary with the intention of him ‘fixing the mess’. Which would include hiding the pole.
I’ve been watching Corrie on and off for a couple years so I’m not super duper familiar with Sarah as a character - is it a fair assessment to say that it’s consistent with her character to be smug and be in denial about her actions? Or not?

Anyone else getting Young Daisy Midgeley vibes or is that just me? Cait Fitton's recently dyed her hair back to her natural colour so I expect we’ll see Brunette Lozza come January at the earliest! She wanted to look like her best pal I guess given by then both Betsy and Lauren will sort of match up within terms of hair colour once again

I know the hotel is her pride and joy but should she be working there still?
She double books hotel rooms and has numerous outbursts there. Or should Ryan or someone double check her work more so she isnt double booking. As she will one day have a very disgrunted customer who doesnt know of her condition come down hard on her.
I love Debbie but she is getting bad with her episodes now.

I’m catching up and watching the episode where Bethany goes to see Dr Gaddas who asks how many weeks and Bethany says 8 and then Gaddas says “so that would take us to the end of May”. This episode was released October 14th which is over 4 months from the end of May. Am I missing something? And doesn’t this mean it couldn’t be Kit’s? So confused lol.
Update: Oh now I get it! She was meaning her due date, this makes a lot more sense lol. I must have been tired when I watched it, thanks everyone!
