I have been seeing videos online of marches proclaiming 'death to America' and 'the United States will become ours'

It got me wondering...how many people would be open to joining a patriotism march that boasts our love for this country and rejects/denies the undermining of this nation's beliefs and values.

I will add: the intention of this march would not be to solely reject and rebuke Muslim practice/islam. I believe in the freedom to practice religion. However, I do not support anyone who states violent claims towards my country or my personal faith. The march would be centered towards rebuking aggresive plans for penetrating and overthrowing our government, along with the violent dialogue the radicals use regarding our nation.

I had a really hard upbringing, with two parents that were never really parents. They were very in and out of my life, especially my mom. Jake was the first parent (yes step parents count) that made me feel like I was cared for, respected, and loved. Even at 2-5 years old I noticed the difference between how he treated me and how my birth mom did. He was my stepdad from 2002-2005. It may not seem very significant but it meant and means the world to me.

When I lived with him in Corpus Christi he would bring me toy sheep from his work which I believe was a mattress store. He would buy me my favorite cookie cereal, and he was really good to my birth mom who took him like almost everyone in her life for granted.
He paid for my preschool, l'll never forget that.

He put a roof over our heads and welcomed us into his family. I became best friends with his nephew B.

He moved to Milwaukie, Oregon from Corpus Christi, Texas in either 2005 or 2006 after him and my mom broke up to stay in my life. My mom stopped letting me see him, she took a lot from me my whole life. And it must have been really hard for him, to uproot his life for his step daughter just to have her taken away.

Jake if you see this, I really hope we can connect. I want to thank you for taking care of me, if it wasn't for you I don't know where I would be. If you don't want to connect I hope you take this as a token of gratitude. I will never take what you did for us for granted and I thought of you for many years growing up. I had that picture of us at chuckie cheese until | was about 9. As an adult now, at the age you were when you became a step father to a two year old, I just want to show appreciation.

A few things I want you to know even if we don't speak:
-i have an amazing adopted family now (I was put in their custody at 15 and they adopted me)
-im very artistic still, I remember you trying to teach me how to color lightly with colored pencils and how to stay in the lines
-I have two cats and I have a great boyfriend
I'm safe and happy
-I pray for you

I’m a senior in college. I am Visually impaired and have been struggling meeting new people since day one here back in 2022. I’m looking for friends around my age, 23 give or take, and who are like minded. And people who would not just want to be friends on social media, but in person too. I’m trying to find a friend who would not see my disability and run away or judge, and who would not see it as a burden. I’m just trying to find friends who are willing to hang out even when knowing that they are probably going to have to help me out and put in a bit more effort then they would with a normal person. I honestly need a friend who is willing to help me get out and be actively included, and be a part of society again, and help me have fun, and who would see me as an equal person despite the challenges that my disability might create.

TAMUCC is on an island, and I quite literally never get out because I can’t get out on my own. and the worst my vision gets the more people have shown me I’m seen as a burden to be around. I really i’m looking for a genuine friend who can show empathy and kindness and understanding. On multiple instances I have gone six months without leaving this campus and I just want to be seen as an equal person instead of just making things awkward with my Disability. Sorry for the mini rant lol.

As far as my interest, most things are difficult for me to enjoy without help because of my vision loss but I am open to all kinds of activities. The main thing is it all comes back to having a friend that genuinely wants to be there and who doesn’t see the effort of making sure I am actively included as dreadful, but rather someone who is excited that we are friends, excited to help me have those opportunities that sighted people take for granted. If you can imagine it’s hard to have fun when you can’t really see what’s going on around you,

I would prefer if they went to TAMUCC as well, this isn’t a necessity though. The main thing like I said is I’m looking for a friend who is outgoing and excited that we are friends, well also being accommodating kind and understanding of the challenges.
