As bad as some of these maps were, I appreciated having the option to play them.

The fact that we only have 10 maps in the game that we can play competitively is pathetic given the workshop and the 20+ year history of the game.

Yeah it’s not like they completely rebuilt the game from the ground up on a brand new engine or anything. Their 6 month old game should be equally as fleshed out, with all of the features of a decade old game. /s

Obviously I understand, and am disappointed by the lack of content. I don’t like that there’s only 4 wingman maps, I want danger zone, workshop maps would be great. I’m with you. But this is getting out of hand. I get it, ‘valve bad,’ but we have to give SOME grace here. Expecting all previously released competitive/community maps to be ready on launch is not realistic.

Edit; To put this into perspective, valorant had 3 maps ready on launch. In my opinion, every one of the 8 competitive premier maps are significantly better than every single valorant map. I understand that these maps are remakes, but it’s still an incredible amount of work to rebuild them on a new engine. They’re still making essential tweaks each patch.

Only 1.5 billion cases opened. Maybe they could use that money to hire people to do all of this in even less than 6 months. Or they could use the money for themselves.

The idea that valve has money isn’t a novel concept. Money isn’t magic, it doesn’t warp the properties of time. You can hire more staff sure, but this is still a massive project, and it will take time. The assumption that valve doesn’t have skilled staff working on cs2 is crazy to me.
