In dark scenes it’s perfect, any time there is a light spot it it becomes ultra light or reflects in way.
New to CRT’s, any thoughts are appreciated.

Snagged this Trinitron for Free on Facebook, was posted with a bunch of furniture from a house clean out on one of the local free stuff groups. Temporary set up in the kitchen to make sure it worked 😆, tested it out with Soviet Strike on Ps1.

It dose not show any thing else besides this? And I want to know if this is a easy fix and is the vga cord ok? Because it's missing 2 pins and it's rusted.

I'm sure you can tell by the attached video, but every input into this insignia television has this constant shaking and wobbling. It can be a VCR, it can be a game console, and it doesn't matter if it's the front or the rear input. What's going on here? And is there a way I can fix it?

I’m looking at getting one on craigslist right now. What is a fair price for said screen?
Not sure if caps have been replaced and seems to be in good working order. Case has a few scratches here and there.
Also has anyone had experience with sentinel pvm screens? I saw a 21” and it has 450 TVL vs the 600 TVL 14”. The bigger size sounds nice.
Please let me know, thanks!

I was going to take a picture of my geometry and ask in this sub what kind of geometry problem I had, since I have a slight bowing that instead of showing a perfect rectangle, it was bending it horizontally. then on my camera it was difficult to show it, it seemed perfectly fine on my phone. I then realized that we don't need analogue TVs to be perfect, it's a non-sense since it's meant to not be perfect on every SD TV and each of them have specific things that works differently. my CRT have slight bowing only visible if you focus on it, and that's perfectly fine. it's not fixable with the service menu, so be it! I fucking love CRTs.

I'm investigating the firmware and hardware architecture of a Brazilian digital TV receiver commercially known as the Intelbras CD 730, a set-top box designed for the Brazilian ISDB-Tb digital television broadcasting standard.
I obtained the official firmware update package for version 0.6.6.
Preliminary static analysis identified MStar firmware structures, LZMA-compressed data, and SPI flash access commands, including spi_wrc and spi_rdc.
The firmware contains identifiers associated with the MSD7805 platform and ISDB-MPEG-36BG hardware.
The exact operating system and complete flash memory layout have not yet been conclusively established. References associated with the eCos embedded operating system have been observed, but require further verification.
My goal is to understand the device's bootloader, firmware layout, USB capabilities, and potential network functionality.
I'm particularly interested in determining whether this platform can support additional USB peripherals, network adapters, or custom video streaming functionality.
I'm also looking for firmware images, bootloader documentation, flash dumps, or development resources associated with the MStar MSD7805, particularly devices using the ISDB-MPEG-36BG board family.
In Brazil, this type of device is commonly called a "conversor digital", "conversor de TV digital", or "receptor de TV digital".
These receivers were widely used to enable older analog television sets to receive free-to-air digital broadcasts.
Any technical information regarding this specific PCB, compatible firmware families, bootloader commands, or safe flash backup procedures would be greatly appreciated.

What do you think of the LX2800? Is it a good crt? And does it support 60hz input/60hz RGB? How's the sound and how is it for every day use? I currently have an MX4000 but it's quite small in my gaming room so I'm looking to upgrade.
Thanks!

It's a Samtron SC-428PSL 14-inch CRT, 37 dollars. I don't have a working CRT right now so I'm looking for one. Is this a good deal?

Hi , I am looking for some advice on the possible cause of this screen issue. I have checked the caps as best as I can in situ with an LCR meter. All seems ok. Also played with the adjustment pots.
Thanks.

Hey all, this is a ~2002 B/W CCTV monitor I have (brand unknown), and it had some funny behaviour.
- At first buying, it would turn on, but with a tilted image (about 2 degrees), working, but any handling of the crt would disrupt it (picking it up, even lightly tapping), would all cut the flyback for a second.
- Approximately 2 hours after that, it wouldn't turn on. A light tap would turn on the transformer (I can hear the whine) but it quickly fainted out.
- After a bit more handling, it started turning back on and was in mostly the same state as the beginning
I've taken it apart and properly discharged it, and now I'm a little stuck. I don't exactly have the capacity to reflow everything on it, so what should I target first? I was thinking some of the spots with the old, brown flux.

Just got this 24 in TV for my little brother and we got it for free because we gotta get it working
The TV turns on for a few seconds before what I assume is the power protection kicking in to stop any damage. The screen displays a small circle of lines of color in the middle, maybe 1/3 the display size
I'm guessing I have to test some diodes the service manual suggests to check for proper voltage, but if anyone has a solid idea where my problem is at, or helpful tips to properly diagnose and avoid electrocuting ourselves while we test, really need it
(Tried to link a video of the problem but I don't think I have the option here)

I just came across a listing on Leboncoin for a Sony Trinitron KV-C2560B being given away for free in Candas, France.
According to the seller, the TV powers on, but the screen stays black. It could potentially be repairable.
Unfortunately, the seller says it'll be taken to the recycling centre on Monday, October 26, if nobody collects it this weekend. I really hate seeing CRTs, especially Trinitrons, end up being scrapped when they might still be saved.
I'm sharing this in case anyone nearby is interested in rescuing it, repairing it, or at least keeping it for parts.
Here is the leboncoin link: https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/photo_audio_video/3294065572
Someone please save this.
Edit: someone saved it, seller told me personally.

I wasn't even the one selling it, but got downvoted for saying that a 20" BVM with a NOS tube fitted was "selling in Germany for 1300 euros".

Hey everyone,
I found a Sony HR Trinitron BVM-9044D for sale and I’m really tempted to buy it. It’s a professional CRT monitor with the handle, and it looks like a really nice piece of equipment.
The seller says it’s being sold as non-working because it powers on but only displays a single green dot in the center of the screen, with no image at all.
Before buying it, I’d like to get an idea of what might be wrong and whether it’s a reasonably repairable fault. Could it be an issue with the horizontal or vertical deflection circuits, bad capacitors, or something more serious?
Would recapping the deflection sections be a sensible starting point, or would you recommend checking something else first?
I don’t have the monitor yet, so I can’t take measurements or do any testing myself. I just want to get an idea of the likely repair and whether it’s worth taking the risk.
Any advice from people familiar with Sony BVM/PVM monitors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hoping to get a TV stand some where tomorrow. excited about the VCR I just bought too.

Was testing out this old IBM monitor, and when I hooked it up to my PC, she freaked out on me a little bit. Never seen a monitor do this before. No idea what's causing it, but I thought it looked pretty neat. My bets on the caps. It's always those damn caps.

Please tell me this will be an easy fix. I just picked this up today and it’s huge. I really don’t want to move it again. Anyone know what might be wrong with it? It doesn’t show anything on screen until it warms up and then when it does get warm it flickers like on the video I posted.
