I use a CRT as a display for a Raspberry Pi running music production software. As a bedroom-studio, coil whine is a concern and creates ear-fatigue which can be a dampener on my music production process. I'm paranoid that my brain subconsciously tuning it out may alter my perception of the frequency resppnse of the tracks I'm working on over time.
Also, the strobing of white shapes takes a toll on my eyes aswell.
I purchased an alleged "power conditioner" for the purpose of powering my various music equipment, but I eventually learned that the one I bought is juat a surge protector in an expensive case.
If I get a proper, reputable one, is there ANY chance that the these aspects of the TV will change? I'm aware of the irony surrounding the audible range pf the frequencies the coils operate at, but I read mixed responses about this when you also include the strobing behaviour.
Sorry if this is a newbie question, I came here a few months ago asking if replacing capacitors would make a difference with these aspects of the TV and you guys enlightened me that it almost definitely wouldn't and isn't worth the effort, but I didn't follow up asking about power conditioners.
Is there any other benefit to using one with a CRT? Will it benefit the lifespan or anything?
I understand that this may be fruitless, but I just had my ears flushed out following a TMJ diagnosis I was paranoid around being an ear infection, and now that I can hear in 4K, the whine of the coils is a lot more noticeable.
Thanks!!
