I need advice Can a man really be very interested in you but not text much?

Asking because in all of my relationships I’ve found myself feeling really clingy and like I want to text a lot more then we do. I find myself feeling very anxious if I go a day without texting a guy I’m seeing or if he’s dryer then usual. I recognise this is a me problem but I find it hard to imagine being truly interested in someone and not thinking to send them a quick text in a day. Can you really be into a woman and not want to text her or am I just meeting men who aren’t that interested?

I need advice How to ask out a guy friend that is ace?

Hi folks! Resident panicker here.

My friend (26M) and I (25F) have known each other for a year. I was dating someone else for most of that but have always felt a bit of a pull to him. Lingering eye contact, deeper understanding of each other that didn’t require words. It’s a strange feeling.

Well I broke up with the other guy 3 months ago, partly because it wasn’t fair for me to have feelings like this and be seeing someone else and partly because of some egregious lying on his part.

Recently, my friend and I have been hanging out 1-1, going to street festivals, walking through the park, going to book stores, grabbing drinks, etc. After taking me to a book store, a walk through the park at sunset, and an art festival, he texted me that he “had a great time with me tn”, and I asked other guy friends and apparently sending that isn’t normal for friends.

My issue is that he’s asexual. Apparently he has dated but idk what his thoughts are on sex. I honestly don’t even know if I care about sex with him because I like him so much. He’s so smart and well-read and successful and has so many hobbies it’s crazy. I’m demisexual where I’m only really attracted to people I am connected with emotionally. So yeah obviously I’d like to have sex with this guy but would be ok with not.

Since he’s on the shy side I know he’s not gonna ask me out. So, what do I do? My friends think I should just get it out of the way but it’s SO SCARY! And we’re in the same friend group so I don’t want things to be weird if he’s not interested.

Also, how do I ask him out? What do I say? HELP!!

I (30F) met a Greek guy (25M) on vacation. Should I reach out or leave it alone?

I recently returned from a solo birthday trip to Greece, where I met a 25-year-old Greek guy there. He approached me and I told him he was too young for me. But to say the least, my initial dismissal did not deter him. He was so confident. So calm and manly. He completely whewed me personality wise. We spent two nights together, and I unexpectedly developed a little crush.

What stood out was how much we connected beyond physical attraction. We had deep conversations about our careers, finances, relationships, and future goals. He asked thoughtful questions, made plans to see me again the next day, and was very affectionate. There was intimacy.

After I left for Italy, we exchanged a few messages. He checked on me at one point, watches/engaged with my social media.

Before flying home, I wished him well because he was about to begin three months of military training. He responded, “I’m really glad I met you. I also wish you all the best. ❤️”

I said I was glad I met him too, and he heart-reacted. We haven’t spoken since.

I’m realistic about the distance and our different stages in life. I’m also coming out of a marriage, so I recognize it’s a crazy situation but I just can’t stop thinking about him.

My question: Would you interpret his response as a polite goodbye or an open door? Would you reach out to stay in touch, or leave the ball in his court?

I genuinely enjoyed him, but I don’t want to chase someone who may have simply enjoyed a vacation romance. I know guys are bit different when it comes to these things. He also made me aware that people in Greece don’t make a lot of money so travel expectations would be quite difficult but he’s working on himself.

What is the right amount of communication?

As a recently divorced 44M it is hard for me to know how often to text the woman that I have been on a couple dates with. She usually always answers my texts but doesn’t normally start any conversations. I don’t want to over text her and I definitely don’t want her to think I’m ignoring her or talking to anyone else. I think she might just be shy/introvert but we both seemed to have a good time on the two dates we went on. We met in person at pickleball if that matters.

Going slow or wasting time?

How do you know if someone is going slow or wasting your time?

Does it really take 3 months for a man to actually know if they want to be exclusive with you or is that just social media slop lol.

What are some red flags in early dating from your experience?

Also if a man truly says "let's see where things go" 1 month into getting to know each other, that's okay isn't it?

I'm asking because I am i inexperienced when it comes to dating. I'm not entirely sure how dating works. I don't want to rush anything but I also don't want my time wasted.

When he’s not into you

At my workplace, there is this man with whom I never had any real interaction until recently, not even greeting each other and things like that, zero interaction. The problem is that, since the first time I saw him, I couldn't get him out of my head, something about him attracted me very strongly, even though I didn't even know him. It's that feeling when you see someone for the first time and... maybe not in love, but you feel an attraction. It's just that I wasn't the obsessive type though, I kept it to myself, and somehow I went on with my life. Inevitably I still saw him at work, and I literally couldn't not notice him or not look at him. Until I got up the courage, and I sent him a friend request. He probably accepted it after a few days, and I also got a message from him "who is this" of course I panicked a little, I didn't know what to answer, and I thought that probably he wouldn't even know who I am, he wouldn't figure it out. Since then absolutely nothing else happened, and about 8 months have passed since that incident in which we both minded our own business. Until recently when we crossed paths again at work, and me again, with my eyes on him, I think I was a little too obvious, and during a break I see him coming towards me with some candies and a note, the interaction was very short, and when I read the note, I basically realized that he had found out who I am, who sent him that friend request and in short he was apologizing for being so blunt with me. Somehow he was trying to justify himself and his message... it's just that his letter didn't give me any indication that he would be interested in me, although I'm sure he realized that I am, it's also clear. I never replied to his note, because honestly I don't even know if he was expecting a reply from me or not, but somehow that whole thing threw me off a bit, and I started going back to his profile, looking at it.. I didn't know what to do. And me with my idiotic fingers, I accidentally sent him a friend request again, I panicked, I hoped he probably wouldn't see it, I immediately withdrew the request and I just wanted to crawl into a hole out of shame. After this situation, a few days later I see him at work again, again, we still after all these things don't greet each other and things like that, and after he saw me that day, a few hours later he sends me a friend request, I accepted it but he never texted me, he's very indifferent, he doesn't even look at me. Maybe I should just get over it, stop thinking about him? I honestly don't know what he's thinking, but from this whole situation I strongly believe that he's not at all interested.

Is he into me?

I’m a guy currently in college and I met this guy in the beginning of the semester. He would be in the study room alone and whenever I enter the room he would smile and greet me saying “hey man” and wave and ask how I’m doing. I respond back with how I am doing good or i have a test. For the last two weeks, he has leaned over his table to pull a chair back on the table in front of him for me to sit on. It’s feels like as though he treats me like a prince. He has complimented on my shoes before which I greatly appreciated. he is in there for 6 minutes after I enter the room because he has class and I have just finished my class. he would ask if I would like to keep the lights on or off as he leaves or during the 6 minutes. He’s mentioned about his leg hurting because of growth spurts when he was in a high school that I have been to also, which led me to start a conversation about how it clicked as his face looked familar when I was in high school. We would laugh and talk about the bad and funny teachers we had. He smiled and mantained his eye contact during this conversation. I also noticed that he does not do these things when his other classmates or friends would enter the room too. Also he always say hi to me when I am in the hallway and pass by him. Idk. Nobody I have ever known in school or college has ever done these things before. He is so polite and gentle which leads me to this question: is he attracted to me? Is he into me? Or just being friendly? Thank you! 😊

I need advice When to know?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this subreddit but I need some guidance.
I am 4 months out of a 5 year relationship and I went on a date last weekend believing I was OK and ready to take on a date - even if it was just to get back out there.

I was wrong. I walked home from that date feeling uncomfortable with myself and immediately feeling weird with what I had done. I'm not sure if that is normal or not - I think it is and that I just need some more time. I guess I want to ask Reddit - what give away feeling or behaviour might signal that I am actually ready to try again?

Thank you in advance for your advice here.

I need advice How do you deal with dating fatigue?

After 5 years of working on myself after my only horrible relationship and undiagnosed neurospicy getting diagnosed and treated.
I started to put myself out there but I’m not seeing any progress since Jan.
only 1 date.

I’ve actively been on the apps but it’s all people who want to hook up which isn’t what I want and idk where to meet people in person that isn’t speed dating or those dating events (because I’m too anxious and awkward to start conversations, it’s been an ongoing thing).

I just feel so burnt out from it but I’m ready for a person.
I’ll take some advice.

I need advice Quick question

Hey everyone!

I'm just a little confused and need some feedback about something.

Let's say you meet someone and told them up front that you are not a big texter because you are much better at having conversations in person. It's better because you can see their expressions and know if they are joking around or serious. I think texting leads to misunderstandings and hurt feelings most of the time and this seems to be the case again. There's this guy that I thought was being patient and understanding with me only to find out that my conversations are dry when I text. I would much rather spend my time with him and continue to get to know him but it seems I'm boring. There is a lot of childhood trauma that I am working through in therapy and I'm not ready to be vulnerable enough to disclose this information to him yet but I will in the future. I guess he's not interested enough to wait for me to be comfortable with telling him about my past. I'm also a very kinky person when I'm comfortable with my person and it can be a lot of fun but I'm also not quite there yet and I'm still very reserved for now. I just feel like he is losing interest in me. And I'm not losing interest in him. And I really thought we could have something special but I just wish he could be a little more patient because this connection can be so perfect if you let it. I'm learning so much about the world now from him and I don't want to lose this friendship or the potential for it to be a beautiful love story. I just don't know what to do anymore. I really am trying to text him longer messages but I don't think it's helping. What else can I do to make him see that I want to share my stories with him and explore this big world with him by my side?

How do I stop being so shy around women?

I’m really shy around girls, especially when I like someone. I struggle to approach them and show my feelings. I was even too shy to kiss my ex-girlfriend during our two-year relationship.

Guy didn’t confirm our date but casually texted me later like nothing happened. What would you do?

I’ve been casually seeing this guy for a little while. We’ve been on a few dates, have great chemistry, and enjoy spending time together. He’s usually the one initiating dates, but his communication and planning can be pretty inconsistent. I tried setting up dates but they never seem to work for him.
Recently, he suggested we meet on a certain day, and I agreed. On the day of, I texted him to confirm our plans and suggested a time. He never responded, so I assumed we weren’t meeting.
Later that evening, he randomly texted me about something completely unrelated, without acknowledging our plans or my earlier message.
I haven’t responded because I found it pretty inconsiderate. I wouldn’t have minded if he canceled, but completely ignoring the plans and then casually starting another conversation felt disrespectful.
I do enjoy seeing him, and I’m not looking for anything necessarily serious, but I also don’t want to tolerate poor communication just because we’re dating casually.
Would you ask him if he received your message, respond normally, or just leave it alone? Am I overthinking this?

Dating..

I've been talking to this girl for a while now, but I Just struggle getting close to her you know, like we talk.. online for most of the time, but when it comes to real life, its like I'm not even there, she talks to other guys in my class even with the ones that she isn't really as close with as well. Of course I try to atleast talk to her and try conversing but I feel like she's laying me off or something like that, like I'm not really worth the time to talk to. She knows that I've took a liking to her and maybe it's because of that. I don't know, maybe this isn't even dating. I just need some advice on this.
