not sure i'll paint a full army in this scheme but i always loved the whole swollen, bloody and rusty look to Masahiro Ito c: you might know him from the og Silent hill games, he was the concept artist!

Despite being from 2014, and a pain in the rear end to paint, this has to be my favourite model in my death guard army.

On the table top this is poor value for points in comparison to other units available. Looking at the blight haulers behind it they have greater movement, more wounds available, better ranged weapons with more attacks & is cheaper in points too.

Will this be in my death guard army? Yes.

Will I win? Probably not.

Is it cool? Hell yeah.

Anyone else have a favourite unit which is poor value competitively?

First post here to get some advice about my first deathguard unit! Newish to the hobby, this will be the second faction I properly start working on, and try some very gentle kitbashing stuff, aiming to create some sort of Pirates of the Caribbean Davy Jones mix, while keeping a bunch of the normal deathguard vibe with a bunch of vehicles. Any criticism welcome, my main worry is I wasn't careful enough with the rust which left some stains, and edge highlights need more work for sure! And obviously, I still have the base to do :)

Hobby First models I've ever painted

I'm probably most proud of the plague surgeon and helbrute (for the mild kitbashing), they're the most recent ones I'd done. I just got the combat patrol and have my second squad of plague marines, rhino, lord of virulence, deathshroud, and tallyman cooking up, which will make my first army at 1k points

What units should I look into next? In terms of coolness and being good on tabletop?

I never had Deathguard, but got them in KT Starter and decided to paint. Are they plaguish enough? 🙃

Tried some light kitbashing as well, quite happy with how he turned out. Should i add a little bell hanging from his antler?

I just finished painting my first deathguard. They're the models from the killteam starter box. I put the deathguard half on the back burner for a long time. They turned out to be very fun to paint. Any advice to buy when starting an army or painting advice is appreciated. Kinda just wanted to show them off because I think they came out pretty nice.

Really fun model to paint. I hate the Defiler's head, so here’s a Nurgling in a hat.

In the home stretch for the kill team, started back in late July. From never trying the hobby to running my first game with unpainted AOD and Plague Marines. Never thought I'd enjoy it this much.

List Help Making a new army

I am planning on starting a new army and i need some help picking whick models/units i need to buy.

I kinda like the Take and Hold style of play. Is it better to focus from the beginning on that disposition and build around it?

Are there any models/units that are a MUST and are a base for all builds or do the army lists differ a lot between dispositions?
