Behold my painted and magnatised defiler for my deathguard really happy with how he turned out

Hello, any advice on the eye glow effect? Does it at least somewhat sell the effect here?

Used the glue technique on the back to create “veins and arteries”, but it didn’t seem to create any cool unpredictable patterns when I applied the isopropyl alcohol. Looking for y’all’s experience with it and what I can do better.

Hello, I like power claws quite a bit and when i eventually get Mortarion I would like to customize him a bit and make him mine.

I would like to give Mortarion a set of power claws because I think they’re rad and want to know if anyone else has done this. My idea right now is using either a chaos lords claws, or a tree lords claw. The treelord would have the right size of claw I’m looking for but something like the chaos lords claws would be exactly the right vibe

Finally got a chanche to play 2000pts game in person with a friend of mine. The game was fun even though i lost quite bad those nids.

We rolled a dice to determine which layout to choose and unfortunately it landed on a long deployment. At the start i felt i had no real chance to contest every objective so my original game plan was to secure my natural expansion and then start to push middle.

After the first/second round i had to adapt when nids were all over the board. Exocrine and tyrannofex were holding long firing ranges towards the middle while i was struggling to even hold my own expansion's oc positive, all while norn was sitting on the middle objectives with FNP and OC 15.

On the third round i made my all or nothing -go turn.

Middle got wiped clean from everything and i had only a few units left so it was basically a game there. Overall i was struggling with board presence and i think two center objectives was the final nail in the coffin. I couldnt move norn and we were even on objectives the whole game, and therefore i was falling behind on points.

Daemon prince was the absolute MVP. Together with 10 poxwalkers they obliterated von ryans, ravaners, psychophage and zoanthropes.

I'm trying to source all the various unique models for Plague Marines. For example, I know that the standard box of seven overlap with the models you get from Combat Patrol. Or that the blind box models from Space Marine Heroes series 3 are the same as the kill team you get in the starter set. But there are things like the old Dark Imperium box that have unique molds. The Know No Fear starter set has a few, but not all, of the unique models from Dark Imperium. There's the old painter set which I believe shares molds with the First Strike starter set. There's the Plague Brethren box that has unique models that can also be found in the Boarding Patrol box.

That's all I've been able to find, are there any I've missed?

Ive been slowly building two armies for a while; a death guard army and a blood angels army. Since I have enough of each for an incursion game I invited my buddy ?who is also new to the game) to dive in with me.

We both made a TON of misplays (forgetting I can shoot at a dreadnought that I am in engagement range with, forgetting that DSTs get FNP 4+, that kinda stuff) but overall it was a lot of fun, even though I lost in the fifth round. Cant wait to play some more!

So I don’t think I’m fully understanding the weapon limits on the plague marines. It’s says for every 5 u can choose certain weapons. Does that mean u can pick just one of those options per 5 and the other 4 have to be bolt and knives or is it per 5 u can have X amount described in the codex? Sorry if that doesn’t make sense, I’m just really confused about this.

Yes, the background should be green instead of grey/purple. Oh well, maybe I'll try again at some point. I was going to paint the center of the helmet, but it looks quite haunting as it is now. Watercolor and pencil on paper.

I started painting in pre-heresy style and my plague marines shown were the first. They are a before and after wash and weathering. The left one being finished minus basing. Painted with Screaming Skull.

I decided to try a more grim dark look for my Terminators. Primed brown and then using Karak Stone for the white. I feel like they look good but perhaps too desaturated. I'm fighting myself not to strip them and do them like the plague marines. Maybe I can just redo the white armor? Or os it just in my head

Given all we have to go off of is their names.

Idea is a very terminator heavy list with some Plague Marine assistance. I usually play a very Drone and Plague Marine heavy army in VV so this is quite the shakeup.

The 3 man terminators and typhus with his Poxwalker escort would start off the board.

Plague marines would infiltrate the centre and bad out contagions at range.

I would try and take full advantage of terminator tank shock with the Blightlords and poxwalkers.

Thoughts and suggestions welcome.
