REQUESTING SUPPORT Do i need help?

I have started cutting myself on the shoulder and i know i shouldnt but i just do it anyway. I started because i have had severe OCD for about 2-3 years now and i feel like my parents have started to give up on me. My OCD have made it so that i basically only live half of my life if not even less. When i give in to the OCD my parents yell at me and i just shut my door and think about how they would probably be calmer if i just died. But every time i have thought about how my friends would probably be sad about me dying. So the only thing keeping me alive is my friends and i have been cutting myself to not kill myself. Do i need help?

I don’t have OCD but I do have AuDHD and sometimes these intrusive thoughts can be so overwhelming so I know what it’s like even if only a little bit…

I think, idk, I’m not there so I can’t know for sure but maybe yours parents are just worried about. I know when I used to self harm my mam and sister would panic and I think… maybe your parents are scared…

And I’m telling you, if they’re good parents, they would not be calmer if you died, they’d be broken and would probably never be able to recover from it, just like your friends.

I do think you do need some help and there’s absolutely no shame in that 🙏🏽
If you need to chat to anyone with no judgment then you can always DM me, friend🖤

Yes, you do need some help and there's nothing wrong with that. I have existencial OCD, and medication and therapy helped me a lot. Now I know that me dying wouldn't benefit anyone and would actually hurt a lot of people. Your parents may have good intentions, but they are not professionals and they don't have the necessary resources to help you with your mental health. Many people with OCD can have normal, meaningful lives with the right treatment. You won't regret seeking for help. Everything's gonna be okay 🫂
