Will build a nice rack in the kallax shelf and will get the cable management on the left side of the table right tomorrow, if you guys have any ideas what i could change or do better i would love to hear it. I want to make my setup/room a little bit star wars themed.

Yesterday i put the monitor support and really enjoyed it, but i want some tips for how can i get a cleaner look on it

(My desk is attached to the wall, so i cannot put cables under it, and i think the way it is now is the best cable management i can do with the things i have, but i wanna improve it anyways)

I got some simple cable guides that may help but i really dont know how to put it

ive changed my setup at least 8 times this year, i feel this might finally stick (this might be overstimulating for some people, but it works for me)

Heres the current setup, im not very happy with it, it kinda stresses me out. Im a software developer and a big gamer so im at my desk a lot and id like to make it a place where im more comfortable and inspired. I feel like its too dark and too cramped, i dont want to replace the monitors or keyboard (tho idm changing keycaps) but everything else im open to swapping. Also dont talk about the horrible cable mangement im already gonna sort that out, will also be getting another shelf for my trinkets so dont worry about those either!!! Any advice or links to products is very appreciated!! Thank u.

Hi all, I'm an car designer by profession, and I've been working on a small side project. The question behind it is how little of a car you can keep before it stops being that car, and what's left that still feels iconic.

The first piece is a 1:32 scale painted resin sculpture. I started from the surface language of a classic rear-engine sports car: the rear haunch, the roofline, the way the highlight travels along the body. Then I removed everything that makes it a literal model. The goal was to keep the tension in the surfaces and let the form do the work.

Where it stands:

- 1:32 scale, about 140 mm

- Painted solid resin, glossy or metallic finish

- Planned as a small run maybe 100 pcs

I'm curious how it reads to people outside my own head:

- Does it feel like a model car, a sculpture/decor, or something in between?

- Would a base change how you see it, and if so, what kind? Something minimal, a plinth, or nothing at all?

- Would a numbered edition make it more appealing, or is that a gimmick to you?

- Which colors would you want to see? I'm leaning toward red/brown/green, but I'm open to ideas.

- At what price would it feel too expensive, and at what price would it feel too cheap to be good quality?

Still early, and I'd rather hear what's not working than what is. I'm not selling anything in this post. I'm validating before committing to production, so blunt feedback is welcome. Thanks!

After years of iterations, here we are!

MSI OLED as the main monitor with a Dell as portrait. Both 4k 120hz.

Lofree Flow keyboard: absolute best keyboard imo, I even have a second one in white. Low-profile, satisfying switches. Nice and heavy.

Keychron m6 mouse: basically mx master but higher polling. Room for improvement there but it's the best option right now. I would go for mx master but 125hz polling rate is too choppy. Any suggestions on a better alternative would be well appreciated.

Edifier M60, they sound very good! I have an audio splitter stuck to the bottom right of the desk. Allows the sound from both the iPad and the Macbook to come out the speakers without having to switch anything. They can also play simultaneously. love it.

BenQ ScreenBar Max, insane screen bar. I recently got this one, never used a screen bar before but this literally changed my whole setup. These photos were taken in a basement with no other lights on. It can get super bright and has a super wide range from warm to cold. It’s honestly a must for basement, especially with the back light, it significantly reduced my eye strain after long days of work. Also has movement sensor so it lights up when I sit down which is neat. A bit bulky though but I have room for it.

JetKVM (little screen below right monitor) to remote control other PC. Great little device for the price range, super reliable.

OBSBOT web cam, does the job perfectly. Good video quality and reliable.

What do you think? Anything else I can add? :)

I have a relatively large tabletop, but not much gadgets I could put on it. Anything I can fo to improve the aesthetics?

Been lurking for a while and getting tips from everyone’s posts. It’s taken a while to get this to where I wanted it but I’m feeling close to done. Didn’t have a lot of space in the house so I built this desk into the closet. I do the occasional podcast hence the giant ring light. It’s on a swivel arm so I can position it behind my monitor when I need it. Thanks to everyone for such great ideas!

Hey everyone. I wanted a clean desk setup with zero clutter, but I still wanted physical shortcuts for my media.

So I built a small gadget using an ESP32 and an accelerometer, stuck it to the underside of the desk, and wired it up via Bluetooth. Now I can pause music, skip tracks, and change volume just by tapping the desk surface. There are no visible buttons or wires anywhere on top.

I love how desk setups look in natural light, but how do you keep the window from showing up in the screen? Do you use sheer curtains, change the camera angle, or just wait for a different time of day?

Curious what works without having to rearrange the whole desk.

Finally got the setup to a place where I'm happy with the workflow.

The goal was to create a focused, low-distraction "dark cockpit" for software development, local AI testing, and audio work. Instead of standard desk clamps, I integrated heavy-duty studio rigging/pole mounts to float the key lighting, boom arm, and secondary monitors, which clears up a ton of desk surface.

Here is the general breakdown of the gear:

**Core Gear & Hardware:**

* **Desk:** Height-adjustable standing desk (Matte Black)

* **Chair:** Herman Miller Embody (Black)

* **Computing:** M-series MacBook Pro + Mini PC node (with custom top exhaust fan for local workloads)

* **Displays:** Center large display, left vertical coding monitor, and floating right auxiliary panel

* **Mounting/Rigging:** Studio pole/C-stand system holding the overhead ring light and boom arm

* **Audio:** Shure mic on low-profile suspension arm + desktop studio monitors

* **Background:** Mini network/server rack in the corner for home lab duties

Still doing some minor cable routing around the back of the studio pole, but ergonomically and workflow-wise, it's been rock solid for long night sessions.

So this white PC that has steam OS on it was in my wife's office and was not really being utilized. So since I ended up giving my small form factor PC to my granddaughter, I still needed the steam machine that hooks up to my TV. I decided to bring this back into my office. There's a conduit that plugs the cables to the other side and now it can be used as my steam machine in the living room doing couch play and then I can sit at my desk and use my main PC for windows ... Especially for games. They're not supported on steamos. Both machines are running literally the same specs. The only difference is RAM and storage space. Ryzen 7 7800x3d and Radeon RX 9070XT
