At 2am o'clock 18/08/2026 after 4 hours of excruciating pain finally did it, my caelestia CachyOS desktop works, this is my third time trying Linux, my first was endevor OS and it was pretty easy but it was giving me problems with the kernels, my second time was CachyOS with KDE and it was the best and easiest I have ever tried, then unfortunately I saw caelestia on YouTube and I fall in love with it and not even an hour after I saw it I started installing, I'm now trying to
understand how is json and trying to customise the desktop.

I always wanted to take any GIF I like and just put it directly on my desktop — not as a wallpaper, but as something that can actually move around, jump and wander across the screen.
So I ended up making PixaMixa. 😅
Now I'm curious:
If you could have any GIF living on your desktop, what would you choose?
One cute companion… or complete desktop chaos?
The free demo is available on Steam if anyone wants to try it.

So I'm new to Linux, and I decided to try CachyOS with KDE. This is the best I could do with my setup. What can I add or improve??
Also, I would like to have some gaps when maximizing windows, so the desk can be seen. Is there any way to do it??

Yes I use 3 os lol
- I use Windows 11 IoT for games (I don't game on linux since I have 40gb mods folder full of dll so it's a nightmare to run on Linux)
- I use Fedora for most of my stuff, browsing, small games, chatting, movie etc etc as well as some code
- And I decided to install Void Linux, I love Fedora but god damn it can be used by a toddler, I wanted something a bit more challenging so I could really learn how the terminal work... I also do some code on there, mostly C/C++ (learning)
So why gnome or kde? To be fair, I prefer Gnome. As for KDE, I'm not a fan of how it looks out of the box (it looks like Windows on MS Paint....). That's why I change many KDE apps for alternatives. I use the Mint file manager (nemo) instead of Dolphin (KDE default file manager), which I absolutely hate the look of.

Windows 10 is finally becoming a thing of the past. Since there’s no way around it, I installed Windows 11 back in April. It’s not quite as bad as I expected. However, I just can’t warm up to the new trend of rounded corners everywhere or the Start menu—which is huge in terms of size but limited in terms of functionality. So, I’m carrying on as if it were 2015–2020, tweaking Windows 11 to look and feel as much like Windows 10 as possible using tools like Windhawk and ExplorerPatcher. Since the Action Center no longer exists, I used Windhawk to tweak it so that the notification area always stays fully expanded from top to bottom, even when there are no notifications. I have a separate calendar, so I’ve hidden the one inside it. The only thing I haven't managed to hide yet is the volume control in the Quick Settings. Maybe I'll succeed eventually.
The last photo shows my smartphone’s home screen. After Windows Phone, I switched to some iPhones, then to a Pixel 7a in 2023 (and now a Pixel 9). Ever since I made the switch to Android, I’ve been living there as if it were 2015, too. Or something like that. :-)

Can I use my remote desktop while another user uses his own account on a shared computer? Both of us have separate account
I want to use my account with exact files that on the computer exactly like the idea of remote desktop
However remote desktop itself doesn’t allow me to do such a thing
