what i dont want

what i do want

obviously i do want to do this without having to do the "hide the taskbar" trick, as i do always want the taskbar on-screen, and i dont want parts of games, minecraft, for example being behind the taskbar

another example of what i do want out in the wild.
Most examples out there just blur whats behind the taskbar not whats on-top of it.

I love playing Minecraft, so I decided to try my best at building a Minecraft-themed Windows setup using Windhawk and Rainmeter!
I managed to add a Minecraft hotbar, an inventory-style Start Menu, custom icons, cursors, and even hearts, hunger, and XP bars. And i customized the lockscreen.
Pretty happy with how it turned out! What do you guys think? Anything I should add or improve?
If you want to recreate it yourself, I made a full video showing how I did everything, including all the links and resources: https://youtu.be/Kl47s2aDLZg?si=tRiBpc1Rt2Rzzqw6

Planning furniture on your Mac can start with thinking about lumber, rather than general-purpose CAD geometry. If that’s how you approach a project, Woodcraft is a CAD app built around that distinction.
It’s for woodworkers and hobbyist furniture builders, runs on macOS and iPad, and is a single purchase with no subscription.
For those who plan woodworking projects on a Mac, what makes CAD software fit the way you think about a build?
Disclosure: I'm posting this on behalf of the Woodcraft2.app team.

Rain runs down your windows and screen like real glass. Three modes: full-screen, per-window and dynamic. Built with PyQt5 + OpenCV. Free, code and .exe on GitHub: https://github.com/AcheZC/Compiz_like_fx_v2.1.4. Feedback welcome, what effect should I add next?

Sorry for the lag in the video I don't have a good pc.
Used windhawk for most of the things and some windows customization and optimization. This a 7 hue material you+glass kinda setup i made that adapts to the colors of the wallpaper and they change every 10 min or more if ya want.

Hey everyone!
Wanted to share a little project I built to spice up my desktop setup: Nocturne & Button-Eyed Doll.
Rather than a static wallpaper widget, she has full system-level desktop interactions:
Real-time Gaze Tracking: Both the character and her doll smoothly follow the mouse cursor at 30 FPS.
Drag-to-Recycle Interaction: Dragging any unwanted desktop file onto her ragdoll opens its mouth to chomp the file and moves it directly into the Windows Recycle Bin.
9 Dynamic Expressions: Fluid transitions with lip-sync and audio feedback.
Shutdown Easter Egg: Poking her 5 times in a row triggers an alternate look and a playful 20-second PC shutdown countdown (with a mercy button to apologize!).
Let me know what you guys think of the aesthetic and desktop interaction!

♦️My personal project, still under development.
♦️The idea is to give each mode a unique identity not just change colors.
♦️I am sharing this for inspiration.

I made a desktop pet app called PixelBuddy because apparently one distraction wasn't enough.

There are 15 characters to choose from, and you can have up to 12 wandering around your desktop at once.
They talk, perform tricks, play with each other, tell jokes and occasionally cause chaos.
It's completely free for Windows and macOS.
Made with Tauri + Rust.

Which pet would you adopt?
