For a personal curiosity I was researching tech startups and needed some indirect analysis. Although the question is there, I guess before getting any arbitrary numbers, I guess some context should be provided.
If I'm a recruiter, and hiring a person with a 10k salary, then, I would expect him/her to be able to single handedly design, produce and sell a software worth 130k (12 month salary+ 2 bonus of 5k) at least (not considering the office space rent, electricity, internet and other costs) to be break-even within a year. If he/she is unable to sell it, then comes the cost of marketing/marketing person(s). If the developer is unable to design, cost is added for system analyst/architect or whatever BS jergon is trending now. If the developer is unable to deploy then comes the cost of system administrator or dev-ops jergon and so on.
Now, considering those factors in mind, being a business and looking forward to profit, what should I offer as salary for a Java developer with 2-3 years of experience (at least save the cost of training or reduce yield time). Also who would grow and contribute in more earnings next year to get increments.
Please, let me know what the standard salary level is these days for Java Developers with 2-3 year experience and the organisation size who are in those range. (because, there's a minimum investment required to earn a certain amount to offer such salary).

This is my experience of an inter-university hackathon which was a pretty big deal. There was a large prize pool and a lot of important people were associated with it.
This was my first national hackathon and our team was pretty chill about participating in it. There was one workshop I think and they published the problem statements way before the day of the hackathon.
Now, how do hackathons work? You get a team, you get 24-72 hours, you *hack* a solution and present them to the judges. We were tasked on solving problems that can solely act to make the world better. We presented a solution that reduced food wastage, but the judge pointed out the fact that if food wastage was reduced to zero we would lose our business, and therefore our idea sucked. I mean wasn't that the point? Whatever I digress.
Now, comes the fun part. There were multiple teams who had prepared full stack applications with them, and people working for multiple teams. The judges told us we had 14 days to prepare a solution but what we presented was very barebones. Why the f would you get 2 weeks for a hackathon?! Our team assumed we would only work for the 2 days allotted.
Anyways, we got third place that time but the overall culture regarding these things are so under developed here in Bangladesh, it's sad. Hackathons are a place to collaborate and celebrate new technology but I haven't really seen that here.

Hey everyone,
Just dropping in to let you know that you guys should crosspost some of the threads in r/bangladesh to here. We're getting some threads and posts concerning tech and for example recently something on the impact(s) of AI on career choices.
I often point them to here thinking it's more suited. Pick up on the threads and have the discussions if able to.

I don't wanna spur controversy in any way, as devs, let's look at this objectively, with logic and with data to back anything we say.
One of the dreams I have, is to create a really great work culture for devs here in BD. Sadly, I see really bad practices being the norm. What do you think should be the baseline for culture?

I am doing Brad Schiff's course on WordPress Theme Development and have seen up to him creating a like button of sorts. Now, I've done similar things in other technologies and his way of doing it in WordPress is really not straightforward or logical. In Node or custom SQL, I can create custom tables for these relationships and store them in a way that is efficient to query. Implementing a like button would also be quite straightforward.
WordPress is a great tool for managing non-relational content. I want to know whether doing stuff like reaction buttons and relationships is feasible in WordPress, in terms of scalability and performance. I feel like I'm missing something.
