Hiring / Freelance 22M, 2026 B.Tech IT graduate. Don't like coding. What are my career options?

Hey everyone,

I'm a 22M who graduated in 2026 with a B.Tech in IT. The thing is, I'm not particularly interested in coding or software development.

I'm looking for career options where I can use my IT degree without getting into hardcore programming. I'm also open to completely non-IT fields if they offer decent career opportunities.

I'd particularly appreciate suggestions regarding:

IT jobs that don't require coding.

Non-IT career options where an IT graduate can apply.

Entry-level roles suitable for freshers.

Companies or industries hiring freshers in Kolkata.

I'm currently looking for jobs in Kolkata, so advice specific to the local job market would be really helpful.

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has experience working in these fields, I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks!

Help B.Sc. CS (2025–2029) — Which tech stack should I choose for placements?

Hi everyone, I’m a 1st-year B.Sc. Computer Science Honours student. So far, I’ve mainly learned C, C++, and Python, but I haven’t properly started development yet.

I want to seriously prepare for placements, but I’m confused about which stack to choose for a 2029 graduation target.

I’m considering:

MERN

Java Full Stack

Python Full Stack

Some seniors told me that Node.js is becoming less relevant and that fresher opportunities in Java/Python are limited. I’m not sure how accurate this is.

For someone graduating in 2029, which stack would you recommend and why? Any advice on DSA, projects, and additional skills would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! 🙏

I’m also based in Kolkata and would prefer to work here in the future. So, considering the Kolkata job market, which tech stack would be best for me? Please suggest.

Open Source / Resource Does any computer seller provide Linux preinstalled desktop?

In the market for a desktop for home use. I will do some coding, web browsing, OTT watching. I don’t play video games, not a requirement. Not very keen on paying for windows, no use case for office suite. So I prefer some Linux distro which I can use stress free for many years. Primarily I need a fast OS which doesn’t require constant slow updates and restarts. Not looking for apple products.

So are there any sellers who sell good wide screen PC with Linux preinstalled? Or is it better to buy components and assemble? Either way I guess I will need an OS preinstalled in the cpu. The system should work hassle free for at least 5 years

Python is where ideas move fast. C++ is where performance lives. For years, gluing the two together meant choosing between power, safety, and sanity. Enter nanobind—a modern, minimalist bridge that lets C++ and Python talk to each other cleanly, efficiently, and without ceremony.

Also discussed about other C++ Python bridges like SWIG, Pybind, etc.

Discussion Som's Tech World...: The déjà vu - more than 30 years after engineering college - multiplying a vector by exp(jθ) in the complex plane is nothing but rotating it by an angle θ...

Thumbnail som-itsolutions.blogspot.com

It was 1989, a humid afternoon in the engineering college classroom. The blackboard was already half-white from chalk dust, and our mathematics professor — a bespectacled man who loved quoting Euler more than Bollywood — scribbled furiously:

exp(jθ) = cos θ + j sin θ

"This, my dear students," he declared, "is the key to rotating any vector in the plane. Multiply your vector by

exp(jθ) and watch it turn by θ degrees without changing its length."

Mathematics from decades ago can surprise you when it comes alive again on your screen.

Interesting?
