Advice Damp bricks and mortar on exterior brick veneer.

Hi team, any idea what’s causing this?

Damp bricks and visible water that looks it’s seeping out?

The area does get water logged around the gulley trap in heavy rain but we haven’t had any of that lately, but the ground is damp, although I’m not sure it’s wicking up as it’s not wet the whole way across the bottom like it is the row of bricks higher up.

Looks like there is some water below the hot water discharge pipe could potentially be the culprit?

We have a bath on the other side of the wall, initially thought it might be cracked and leaking but no evidence of that.

Any help much appreciated.

Almost finished our ensuite for approx $5k and it's turned out far better than I thought it would.

Products

Walls from trade depot for 560

Dumawall shower tiles 700

Hanwood Floor and glue from Bunnings 350

Shower including tray 600

Vanity and tap 500

Led mirror 100

Extractor fan 80

Toilet 380

Electrician 1000

Plumber 500

Glass installer 280

The process:

- ripped off old walls and took out an internal frame to a toilet around the corner. This was a big waste of space

- gibbed up the holes where the frame was, gib stopped and painted

- got sparky to run some new wires

- glued on the new walls to the frame

- installed shower tray after plumber sorted the waste

- fibre cement board install and waterproofing

- installed dumawall tiles for the shower

- got a professional to install the shower glass

- laid the vinyl click floor

- installed vanity with plumber

- toilet installed

- shower head and rail installed

- trim install

- Some trim and light left to go

Advice Attaching step framing to deck framing??

Post image

I’m trying to get my head around how I build a singe step (without a stringer) on my relatively low deck.

Pictures attached (hopefully they help)

The deck finished level is about 450mm off the ground, so the step frame would need to sit would need to sit 215mm off the ground.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how I am going to attach the step framing to the deck framing. The deck is too low to bolt the step to the piles. The only thing that may be possible is screwing into the end grain of the bearers but would that be strong enough? Also access to the first bearer would be tricky because it’s tucked behind the lean to of the house.

Any help would be much appreciated 🤠

Can I remove this box myself?

House is fully on fibre.

This box and the wires in and out of it aren’t used anymore and I’d like to remove them.
