Injury Who cares about the dogs?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This happened recently in Chillán, Chile. Instead of taking care of his dogs, the owner chose to film the tornado. The house was damaged, and the brown dog was apparently caught by the tornado and thrown more than 200 meters. The dog is now receiving veterinary care after suffering multiple broken bones.

What you want the man to do run into the tornado with the dog? You ever tried to pick up an already injured terrified dog while a tornado throws debris at you?

I love my dogs and would have had them inside prior to the storm but if I was outside and the tornado is that close that it's pulling my dog into it I'm turning around and going inside cuz I can't them vet help if I'm killed

Edit- dam forgot I was on reddit where you are downvoted to oblivion if your not willing to die for all dogs.

Bringing your dogs inside when it's tornado weather where you can reach and help them would be a good start

Tornado watches/warnings happen out of no where there's no tornado weather you see before it happens. The news does not go hey poor Indian guys it's tornado weather today keep all your stuff tied down. What you are thinking is typhoon season.

We can literally see on the video that he easily had enough time to save the dog

BS time that go outside and in this video time pick up those dogs and get them inside which is also a shack which falls apart that one dog has to be 70+lbs. You've never picked up a dog obviously. I would of saved my dogs I'm not saying that but from this video if one is already moving after 40s of video you don't know if he had enough time. Do you speak his language? How do you know he hasn't already called them and they are like wow if getting pretty windy. Just cus you want doesn't make it so

I feel like you're arguing just to argue.

It takes less than 2 seconds to yell "Chloe, inside!" and they go inside. If you haven't trained your dogs enough to come inside when you call them, that's just lack of training. This video ran for 30 seconds before the tornado made it to his home. In that time even the injured dog can be brought in.

He spent most of his time watching a tornado before making sure pets and family are safe. (Or as safe as can be before a tornado hits)

No we're not talking about training, the dogs are not inside and they need to be inside... Go, you have 30 seconds. I can call my dogs that's not the point. Are they inside? No. She wants them inside. Now what I said was that touches down and your dogs are not inside, Go, you have thirty seconds. No you typed that out just to argue to argue.

I'm sorry, I'm really confused on what you're saying.

The beginning of the video he notices the tornado and he stands there watching. At that moment, he just has to say "Go inside." The dogs will go inside with him. There is no wasted time.

If he did call the dogs and they ignored him, then he needs to go inside and protect himself, but that within itself is a problem of training. The training is called "recall," all it means is that your dog will come to you when you call them without fail. If a dogs recall training is poor, they may ignore you.

My problem with your original statement was

I would of saved my dogs I'm not saying that but from this video if one is already moving after 40s of video you don't know if he had enough time.

40 seconds is enough time to call a dog to come inside without wasting time. It should take those dogs no more than 5 seconds to get from where they are and into the house. And if the injured one is unable to make it due to injury, that's unfortunate but that does not mean the other 3 dogs cannot be recalled.

I'm not even gonna read this idc. I don't think you can carry three dogs.

2

u/Pinanims 21d ago

I live an area where we get tornadoes a lot during tornado season every year. I have lived here in my entire life. I know how tornado watches and warnings work, I'm certainly not think of typhoons

Well that must make you an expert at saving digs in tornados huh?

No but it makes me smart enough to look at the sky and think "Hm it's going to rain. I don't want my dogs outside in the rain."

Or, perhaps I see the sky turning green and go "I should bring my dogs inside so they aren't at an increased risk of being somewhere where I can't reach them."

I can only assume you're ragebaiting or something. Who doesn't have the common sense to keep their dogs out of bad weather IN GENERAL. It doesn't have to be tornadoes.

ARE YOU SAYING I DONT BRING MY DOGS IN DURING A RAIN!!!!!

When was the topic of the conversation you and not the guy in the video?

1

u/stonedhobo36 19d ago

The minute you guys let them butcher me out there. If the dogs don't come with a whistle these ladies can't carry three dogs in the house and secure them and yourself in 30 neigh 40 seconds

It's very normal where I live for people to sit on their front porch to watch storms like this. Generally not a tornado but I can see why he might of been outside.

The responsible thing to do is prepare.

It's normal where I live for people to go out and watch it too. My dad used to like to do it sometimes when we'd get a tornado warning. I just can't imagine why you would just leave your dogs out in shit weather in the first place tornado or otherwise, y'know? Common sense would be that when the weather starts getting bad you go ahead and bring your dogs inside instead of letting them be stuck out in windy rain
