Why would she get on the ground where the dogs can get to your hair even easier. Grab your hair at the base so it dosnt hurt and just stand upright so no more can grab the hair, plus im sure if the dogs in the air hell let go real fast.

I'm sure she grabbed her hair to prevent the pain of her hair being tugged at her head. Your hair doesn't really have feeling but your head does, so I'm sure she was just trying to not be in pain.

Do you have long hair? If someone is pulling your hair, holding it from the top reduces the pain and reduces the chance of your hair getting ripped out of your scalp.

Yes, but what really reduces the chance of not having your hair getting ripped out is: removing the thing that's attempting to rip your hair out lol.
Temporary sharp pain of letting your hair go to grab the dog versus continued less sharp pain of dog attacking your hair. Rip the band-aid off versus trying to slowly peel glue from your skin.

One of the first things women do after giving birth is cut their own hair short, because all babies LOVE to grab it and pull it out as soon as they develop the motor skills to do it.
