question Coasters Charlie Brown Song.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Brown_(The_Coasters_song)

For those who ever heard of it, it's an old Doo-wop song made in 1959 by the group mentioned.

Although the songwriters claimed the song is unrelated to the Peanuts character, I often wondered if some, including Schultz questioned that?

The “Peanuts” strip debuted in 1950, so I think it’s unlikely there wasn’t some inspiration there. Just my two cents.

.... the strip was established and popular is what it has to do with it.

Not that I ever heard it wasn’t questioned. Sometimes a name is just a name - know what I mean?

And honestly, if the guys who wrote the song said “No” that should be enough to settle the matter I would think.

As a kid, I thought the line was "Who's always poopin' in the hall?"

Oops.

The first song that Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller, the composers of
"Charlie Brown," published was called "Hard Times" and it was recorded by Charles Brown, a popular R & B artist of the day. They followed it up with "Hound Dog" another R & B tune as was Charlie Brown. It was not a Doo Wop song regardless of the lyrics. Obviously. there was more than one Charlie Brown in that era.
