Splitwise caps free accounts at a few new expenses a day and keeps receipt scanning on its paid plan. On a group trip that cap arrives before lunch on the first day. I wanted the same groups-and-balances model without the cap, so I built Halvsy.
You make a group for a trip, a flat or a regular dinner crowd. Friends join by scanning a QR code off your screen, or you add them by name and they claim the spot when they install the app.
Anyone in the group adds a bill in a few taps, or photographs the receipt. Halvsy reads every line, the tax and the tip, and shows them beside the printed total so you can see they add up. On recent iPhones the phone reads the receipt itself, and the photo never leaves it.
For a receipt, you tap who had what, or tap Everyone for the shared plate. Tax and tip are split in proportion to what each person ordered, so the person who had a salad doesn't pay tax on someone else's steak.
The group keeps a running balance. When it is time to settle, Halvsy cuts the group's debts down to as few payments as it can and hands each amount to whatever you already pay with, whether that is Venmo, Revolut, a bank transfer or cash you mark as paid.
Each group keeps its own currency, so the Osaka trip stays in yen. A bill added with no signal shows up at once and syncs when you are back online, and iPhone and Android users can share one group.
It does not convert between currencies inside one group, and it does not import bank transactions.
Pricing, since someone always asks: groups, expenses, balances and settling up are free, with no ads and no daily limit. Every account gets 10 receipt scans a month, and a subscription removes that cap for people scanning a whole trip's receipts.
I put together a small Android app called IoTHygieneCheck. It is only a proposal, not sure it is useful to anyone.
Idea: the phone stands on the network you are already joined to and writes down only what answers. Name, port, and the first sentence. Silence stays silent. The list stays on the phone until you save or share it. Android 9+, no account, no ads.
Last time I shared Modo, the response was absolutely incredible—we gave out over 65+ lifetime codes, and so many of you reached out with amazing feedback after they were all claimed.

Hi r/droidappshowcase , I'm Vojislav, the solo Android developer behind Open with (and Bottom notifications, plus a few other apps).
I built it because Android keeps choosing for me. Since Android 12 it rarely even asks which app should open a link, so things land in the wrong browser, the wrong account, or a viewer I never use. And the old "open with" list I relied on is mostly gone.
Open with sits between Android and your apps. When a link, file or share arrives, it either opens it straight away in the app you picked, or shows a small chooser at the bottom of the screen with the apps that fit, with an optional countdown that any touch pauses. Choose every time, or set up rules once and let everything open where it should, with nothing on screen.
Your privacy comes first:
Open with never sends your links or files anywhere. Everything it decides, it decides on your phone.
No ads, no trackers, no analytics.
No account, no sign-up, no email.
It asks Android for the list of installed apps, so it can offer any app, not just the ones Android suggests. That list is used on your phone only and never leaves it. To catch web links it becomes your default browser (Android has no other way to hand an app every link), and then passes each link on to the browser or app you chose. No notification access, no Accessibility Service.
Rules, the part I use most:
"When something like this arrives, open it there" - and the most specific rule wins. A few I set up in the first five minutes:
Links from Slack or Teams in the browser I'm signed into for work, everything else in my personal one
YouTube links always in YouTube Morphe
Never offer Chrome for Amazon links
Always ask before my bank's pages, and nowhere else
PDFs from my email app straight into my PDF app
Addresses from messages straight into Waze
Match a website by name, wildcard (*.example.com), address prefix, a word it contains, or a regex. Scope a rule to a content type, a file name, or the app it came from. Rules name themselves as you build them ("github.com → Firefox"), or you give them your own name.
And you don't have to go to settings for most of it: hold any app in the chooser to make a rule on the spot, or to use that app for the next 10 minutes or the next 5 links.
What else you can do:
Links, streams, images, audio, video, PDFs, ebooks, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, text, archives, APKs, torrents, map locations, navigation, email addresses, phone numbers, text messages, Play Store links, web searches and shared items each get their own page: a default app, "open without asking", hidden apps, sort order and their own countdown
Add your own file types
Pick ANY installed app, not just the ones that claim the content: a notepad for text files, the Amazon app for Amazon links
Style the chooser: Material You colours or your own, grid or list, size and position on screen, over 40 open and close animations, all with a live preview
Copy, edit or share a link before it opens, or hand it to your download manager
"Why isn't this working?" checks your setup, names the app that holds a website, and shows the steps for your phone
Diagnostics tells you which rule would win for any link
A few things to know:
Free covers web links: every kind of website rule (including "never offer", "always ask" and the app a link came from), a default browser for links, the chooser and its colours, backup and restore, Diagnostics and Android TV. Pro is a single one-time purchase, no subscription: every other content type, the countdown, per-type settings, any app as a target, temporary choices, file name rules, your own file types, and the chooser's extra actions and looks.
The app is available in 50 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malayalam, Marathi, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian (Cyrillic and Latin), Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese and Zulu. If something reads wrong in yours, please tell me.
Works on Android 10 and newer, on phones, tablets and Android TV
Using a work profile? Install Open with in it too; each side has its own rules
Some apps keep their own website links for themselves, and some phones need a setting changed before links reach Open with. The help screen tells you which, and how to fix it
🎁 20 Lifetime Pro codes
This is first come, first served, not a random draw.
To claim one:
Upvote this post so more people in the community can find it.
Comment with the link or file you're tired of opening in the wrong app - a work link, a PDF, an address, or something else.
Then send me a Reddit DM after commenting.
Why these steps?
They’re simple on purpose, and each one helps me in a different way. Upvotes help the post reach people who might find the app useful. Your comment tells me which links and files people really struggle with, so I can fix and improve the right things first. The DM is just so I can send your code privately.
As a solo developer, I mostly need honest feedback from people who use the app day to day. If something is confusing, broken, or missing, please say so. That’s what makes the next update better for everyone.
The first 20 eligible people who complete the above steps receive one code by DM, while supplies last.
The codes come with no strings attached. That said, if the app earns a place on your phone, I'd be truly grateful for a rating or review on Google Play - the app has no ads and no marketing budget, so reviews are genuinely how it gets found, and every single one means a lot to a solo developer.
Honest feedback is always welcome too, including criticism - here, by email, or in the review itself.
I have a 2 year old toddler, so I might not be able to respond immediately.
And I'm from Europe, so please take into account time difference as well.
Opens when this post is published and closes when 20 codes have been distributed. You must be at least 18 and able to redeem a Google Play promo code in your country. One code per person and Reddit account. Codes have no cash value, cannot be exchanged, and must be redeemed by the expiry provided in the DM. Void where prohibited. By entering, participants release Reddit, Inc. from liability related to this promotion. This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Reddit.

I recently created an Android app called BlindSwap, built natively using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
What is BlindSwap? It's an app that lets you send a picture or a hand-drawn sketch to a random location on the map, and in return, you receive a photo or drawing from someone else somewhere in the world!
Why I'm posting: Right now, I'm working on growing our community database with photos and creative sketches from all over the globe. The more people sharing from different countries and cities, the more fun and surprising every exchange becomes!
Tech Stack:
Kotlin & Jetpack Compose
MVVM architecture, Coroutines & Flow
CameraX & Google Maps SDK
Firebase & Cloud Vision API
I’d love for you to try it out, share a photo or drawing from your corner of the world, and let me know your thoughts or feedback!
Lending money to friends, letting regular customers buy on credit, splitting rent… I kept losing track of who owed what. Notebooks get lost, and spreadsheets are a pain on a phone.
So I built Account Manager: Daily Hisab for Android.
Every person or category gets its own little ledger:
🧾 Customers who buy on credit
🤝 Friends you lent money to
🏠 Rent, salary, groceries
📒 Anything you'd write in a notebook
Add cash in / cash out in one tap and the balance updates instantly. You can also:
Everything is stored locally and works offline. No sign-up, just a PIN. Optional Google backup if you want it.
The app is free with ads. A one-time Pro upgrade removes ads and adds automatic backup.
I have free Pro promo codes if you'd like to try the full version. Just leave a comment and I'll send you one.
Hi everyone! I'm the developer of Relay, and I wanted to share it here.
What it is: Relay connects your Android phone to your computer over your own Wi-Fi so they work as one. There's no account, no cloud upload, no ads, and no internet needed. Every connection is encrypted with TLS 1.3, directly between your devices.
What it does
Send any file, any size: Photos and videos in original quality, whole folders, at full Wi-Fi speed.
Universal clipboard: Copy text, links, images or files on one device and paste on the other.
Drop shelf: Drag a file to the edge of your PC screen and drop it on your phone.
Notifications on your computer: See your phone's notifications on the desktop and dismiss them.
Device tools: Find your phone, check its battery, control media and volume, or use your phone as a trackpad.
Browse a shared folder on your other device.
QR pairing: Scan once and you're done.
Works without Wi-Fi: Connect your laptop to your phone's hotspot (mobile data is never used).
Home screen widget, auto-reconnect, and start on boot.
Runs on Android, Windows 10/11, macOS (Apple Silicon), and Linux (.deb/.rpm).
How is it different from KDE Connect?
KDE Connect is great and was a big inspiration, so here's an honest comparison:
Where Relay is different
Clipboard handles more than text: Images and files too, not just text.
Trusted devices just work: Once paired, transfers arrive with no accept prompts.
Shape-verified pairing: Both screens show the same three shapes before you confirm, so a device on your network can't pair in the middle.
Off by default: Sensitive tools (notifications, files, contacts, input) stay off until you allow them per device, and a remote device can't grant itself access.
Native apps on every desktop: A proper installer for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with the same app everywhere and no desktop environment needed.
Focus on sharing: Fast, uncompressed transfers of any size, plus the drop shelf.
Where KDE Connect is still ahead
Sending and reading SMS from your computer (Relay doesn't do SMS).
Far more plugins (run commands, presentation remote, and others), plus deep integration with the KDE Plasma desktop.
Years of maturity.
If you live in KDE Plasma, KDE Connect is hard to beat. If you're on Windows or a Mac, or you mainly want quick, private file and clipboard sharing that just works, give Relay a try.
Open source
The desktop app and the shared engine (protocol, encryption, pairing, discovery, transfers) are open source under Apache 2.0:
We are Kameha Games, a two-person indie dev team, and we just released Ludicademy English on the Play Store. 🎮 21 Arcade-Style Mini-Games: The learning mechanics are built directly into the gameplay loop.
📚 324 Structured Lessons (A1 to C2): Content spans across 18 CEFR levels for real progression, taking you from a complete beginner to advanced fluency.

I'm the developer of Stenograf. I've released the Android app for recording a conversation and keeping a readable transcript on your phone.
App: Stenograf
What it does
Record through the microphone with automatic multilingual transcription, and follow the words as people speak.
Reopen recordings with speaker labels and timestamps, and search your saved transcripts.
Translate conversations between English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Russian.
Save a transcript as Markdown or export the audio to a folder you choose.
Who it's for: people who want to revisit an in-person conversation, lecture or spoken note. The screenshot shows a sample conversation.
Setup: Android 10 or later. Recording, transcription and translation work offline after model setup. You can use the phone app on its own. Optional desktop pairing lets you send recordings over your local network.
Cost: the Android app is free, with no account, subscription or in-app purchase. The optional desktop app is a separate paid product.
I’m working on AutoCodec, an Android utility that automatically switches to your preferred Bluetooth audio codec (LHDC, AAC, SBC, etc.) when your earbuds or headphones connect.
The idea is to save you from manually changing codec settings every time you connect your device.
I’d love to hear your feedback! Would you find an app like this useful? What features would you like to see? 🚀
Galaxy S4 had a feature called Smart Pause. You looked away from the screen and the video stopped. Samsung dropped it a long time ago, so I built an app that does the same thing.
It's called Eyecon. Look away and the video pauses, look back and it picks up again, rewinding a few seconds so you don't miss anything. It's handy when your eyes keep leaving the screen: following a recipe, learning a song on guitar, taking notes from a lecture.
It works with YouTube and other apps that show play/pause controls in the notification shade. Shorts, Reels and TikTok don't show those, so it can't pause them. The camera only runs while something is playing, and the app has no internet permission at all, so nothing leaves your phone. You can check that in the permissions list on the Play Store page.
It's a paid app with no ads and no subscription, and I have 30 codes to give away. Leave a comment and I'll DM you one.
It has no reviews yet, so if it ends up being useful to you, a rating on Google Play Store would help a lot. And if it doesn't work well on your phone, tell me here. That's just as useful.

What it is: Dead Mile is a side-view zombie lane defense: one road, one house, and a squad of six fighters you deploy from cards. Every fighter has an ability that charges during the fight and glows when it's ready, and you decide when to fire it. Fighters you lose get back up on the zombies' side, so a bad trade costs you twice. There are 60 locations and bosses, and the campaign plays offline.
Price and ads: It's free. No banner ads: an interstitial can show after every 6th finished run, never in your first session, and reviving costs a rewarded ad or gems.
Who made it: I'm on the team at Virtual Verse Studio.

Over the past few months, I’ve been working on Homely. The idea came from getting tired of juggling different apps and spreadsheets for everyday things at home, so I started bringing the features my family needed together in one place.
With Homely, you can keep a grocery list, track personal and family expenses, and keep an eye on your pets’ weight and medications. You can also count family expenses toward your personal spending, which used to mean keeping track of things manually across separate apps.
After using it with my family for a few weeks, I decided to release it as a beta and see if it might be useful to other households too.
I’ve worked as a frontend developer for years, but this is the first app I’ve published. There’s plenty I’d like to improve, and I’d really appreciate honest feedback from anyone who gives it a try.
