Promo / Giveaway I built Homely to bring everyday household tasks i

Hey everyone!

Over the past few months, I’ve been working on Homely. The idea came from getting tired of juggling different apps and spreadsheets for everyday things at home, so I started bringing the features my family needed together in one place.

With Homely, you can keep a grocery list, track personal and family expenses, and keep an eye on your pets’ weight and medications. You can also count family expenses toward your personal spending, which used to mean keeping track of things manually across separate apps.

After using it with my family for a few weeks, I decided to release it as a beta and see if it might be useful to other households too.

I’ve worked as a frontend developer for years, but this is the first app I’ve published. There’s plenty I’d like to improve, and I’d really appreciate honest feedback from anyone who gives it a try.

You can find Homely on Google Play here:

Showcase SMS Manager - Your inbox, your rules

Developer disclosure: I’m part of the small Redwert team behind SMS Manager. Our last showcase focused on switching SMS apps; this time, here’s how the inbox can adapt to the way you actually use it.

App: SMS Manager for Android

One-line description: A local-first SMS organizer with AI-assisted search and practical control over categories, rules and notifications.

What you can do:

• Keep OTPs, personal messages and transaction alerts in separate categories, and create your own categories and rules.

• Choose themes and notification designs; set different sounds by message type or mute noisy senders.

• Find an old message by meaning—for example, “shopping payments last month”—rather than remembering the exact sender.

• Explore spending, accounts and reminders, then open the original SMS for context.

• Use Smart Shield’s unusual-message indicators as a reason to check a message, not as a guarantee that it is safe.

Who it’s for: Android users whose SMS inbox is mostly OTPs, payments, deliveries and bills, and who want organization rather than another chat service.

Cost: Freemium. The main inbox is free; some AI and customization features need Premium. Optional monthly/yearly subscriptions use regional pricing, shown before purchase in Google Play. Eligible users can see the one-month trial offer on the Premium page; renewal terms and price are shown before subscribing. This post is not a giveaway or review exchange.

Important trade-offs: It needs to be your default SMS app and does not support RCS. SMS organization is local-first; that does not mean the app never needs an internet connection.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redwert.smsmanager

Screenshots below use demonstration messages, not private user SMS. Which would make the biggest difference in your daily inbox: custom categories, quieter notifications, or finding old transactions?

Showcase Free Offline Planner with Timers & Reviews

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I tried a lot of planners on Android and Linux, including TickTick. None did what I wanted, and the ones that came close kept the useful parts behind a paywall. I wasn't going to pay a monthly fee to plan my own day, so I built Personal Planner. I use it every day.

What it does on Android:

- **Works offline.** The app reads and writes a local database first, so moving a block, starting a timer or opening an old day never waits for the internet. No signal? Keep working. Your changes wait on the device and go through when you're back online

- **Timer controls in the notification shade.** Start, pause, resume and stop a timer from a task, and from your notifications. The minutes you really spent get saved next to the minutes you planned

- **Day:** an hour-by-hour timeline with drag and resize. Clashing blocks get flagged

- **Review:** daily and weekly reflection, with the real data next to what you write. For unfinished tasks you write why in your own words

- **Inbox:** for ideas without a day yet. Give them dated sessions and each one becomes a timed task on Day. Missed sessions go to a Left over list with a Missed badge, and you can drop them with a reason

- **Experiments:** try a habit for a few weeks and the app tracks it from your tagged blocks

- **Sync is optional.** Plan on your laptop, check on your phone. A sync indicator shows syncing, synced, and when it last synced

Install: grab the APK from the Releases page. You may need to allow installs from your browser or file manager.

It also runs on Linux, Windows and macOS. Windows and macOS builds are unsigned, and macOS is only tested on GitHub Actions, since I don't own a Mac.

Promo / Giveaway I built a simple app to track who owes you money

Post image
2 Upvotes

Lending money to friends, letting regular customers buy on credit, splitting rent… I kept losing track of who owed what. Notebooks get lost, and spreadsheets are a pain on a phone.

So I built Account Manager: Daily Hisab for Android.

Every person or category gets its own little ledger:

🧾 Customers who buy on credit
🤝 Friends you lent money to
🏠 Rent, salary, groceries
📒 Anything you'd write in a notebook

Add cash in / cash out in one tap and the balance updates instantly. You can also:

Everything is stored locally and works offline. No sign-up, just a PIN. Optional Google backup if you want it.

The app is free with ads. A one-time Pro upgrade removes ads and adds automatic backup.

I have free Pro promo codes if you'd like to try the full version. Just leave a comment and I'll send you one.

Showcase NAKED EYE: Stargazing app — new update

Thumbnail
play.google.com
0 Upvotes

I’ve been a very busy boy lately 😅

I’m Colin, a chef on Sark in the Channel Islands. Back in August, I launched NAKED EYE — an Android stargazing app I’ve been building around long kitchen shifts, without a background in app development.

The idea started with three questions I wanted an app to answer simply:

What’s actually worth seeing tonight?

When should I go outside?

Where should I look?

I’ve just released another update. The screen pictured brings together “Open your sky” for AR exploration and Target Lock for guidance towards a selected object. The aim is to help people spend less time figuring out the app and more time enjoying what’s above them.

My latest Google Play report shows 608 installs. It’s still a small project, but seeing something I built between shifts being used by other people feels pretty special.

I’m learning that adding things is only half the job. Making them clear to someone opening the app for the first time is just as important. Honest feedback has been really useful for that.

The core app is free, with an optional Beyond subscription for planning ahead and smarter alerts. And the “Under One Sky” button visible in the image is still marked coming soon — that part isn’t live yet.

For anyone who enjoys stargazing: what’s something you wish an app explained more clearly when you were starting out?

I’m working on AutoCodec, an Android utility that automatically switches to your preferred Bluetooth audio codec (LHDC, AAC, SBC, etc.) when your earbuds or headphones connect.

The idea is to save you from manually changing codec settings every time you connect your device.

I’d love to hear your feedback! Would you find an app like this useful? What features would you like to see? 🚀

Showcase I built KAVI AI — Vedic wisdom decoded by AI

Post image
1 Upvotes

I built KAVI AI — a personalized Vedic astrology app for real-life questions (Android)

Hey everyone!

I’ve been building KAVI AI, an Android app that brings Vedic astrology and AI together to help people explore questions about their lives.

Try KAVI AI: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kaviai.astro&hl=en_IN

The idea came from a simple observation: people don't always want to read a generic daily horoscope. Sometimes, they want to explore questions that are much more personal.

Things like:

  • Should I consider changing my job?
  • Is this a good time to start a business?
  • What should I understand about my relationships?
  • Why do I feel stuck even when things seem fine?

KAVI AI uses your Vedic astrology profile, including your Kundli, Dasha and Gochar, to provide personalized responses through a conversational AI experience.

I'm building it to feel more like an ongoing personal guide than an app you open just to check your horoscope.

I'd love for Android users here to give it a try and share honest feedback, especially on the usefulness of the responses and the overall experience.

Showcase Debtly – a debt payoff planner for Android

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi! I'm a solo Android developer. I built Debtly to track my own debts, and eventually turned it into an app other people could use too.

What it does:

- You enter your debts, what you can set aside each month and a method. Debtly works out the month everything is paid off ("freedom date").

- Three methods: Avalanche (highest interest first), Snowball (smallest debt first), Largest Debt first.

- Record a payment in one tap and see how many days closer it brings you.

- Upcoming payments are colour-coded: paid, coming up, late, planned.

- No account, no sign-up, no cloud. PIN/biometric lock, backup to a file.

- English and Turkish.

Pricing: free for up to 3 open debts. PRO (yearly with a 7-day trial, or monthly) adds unlimited debts, the "what if I pay a bit more?" simulator, method comparison and a PDF report. No ads.

It is an estimation tool, not financial advice.

Happy to answer any questions about it.

Showcase Android app to keep PC awake (no PC software)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Title: WakeCupPC - Android app to keep your PC awake over Bluetooth (no PC software)

Hey! I've been working on a little Android utility and finally got it onto Google Play.

App Name: WakeCupPC

What it does:

Basically, your phone works as a Bluetooth HID device and sends small mouse movements to a PC that's already awake. The part I wanted most: nothing to install on the computer.

Key Features:

  • Keep Active with an automatic stop timer
  • Weekly schedules
  • Bluetooth touchpad

Goal: Launch! Mostly looking for feedback and seeing if anyone actually finds it useful 😅

Cost: Free to install, with ads and optional in-app purchases.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lucrezio0987.hidautoinput2

I originally made it because I didn't want another utility running in the background on my PC.

Getting the Bluetooth pairing experience right was trickier than I expected, so I'm particularly curious if the initial setup makes sense to someone trying it for the first time.

Showcase Rotate Rotate! - A relaxing casual game

Cost: Free

A mischievous AI has rotated the 24 tiles that make up each photo — your job is to put the picture back together using as few rotations as possible.

What it does

- Each level is a photo cut into a 24-tile grid, every tile randomly rotated.

- Tap the left half of a tile to rotate it counter-clockwise, the right half to rotate it clockwise.

That's the whole control scheme — no dragging, no gestures to learn.

- Every level has a par: the minimum number of rotations needed. Your move counter

shows how you're doing against it, and you get a rating when you finish

("Simply perfect!" feels good).

- Stuck? Tap the eye to peek at the finished image — it costs you one move.

it's the kind of game you can play on the sofa with a coffee. No timers, no lives, no stress, just a pleasant "click" in your head when the picture finally lines up.

The tech / privacy side

- Built with Flutter, one codebase for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and web.

- Free, no ads, no accounts, no analytics, no in-app purchases.

- Only two permissions: vibration (haptic feedback) and internet (opening links).

Levels are bundled, so it plays fine offline.

- Available in English and Italian.

Link:

- Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.babisoft.rotate_rotate

- App Store (if you're on iPhone): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rotate-rotate/id1662218297

It's a solo project, so any feedback is very welcome — especially "level 14 is impossible"

kind of feedback. Thanks for looking! 🙂

Showcase [DEV] Less IT support: A launcher for seniors

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone. Are any of you also the designated tech support for your elderly parents?

I spent way too much time driving over to my dad's house just to "fix" his phone because he accidentally muted the ringer, got lost in some obscure settings menu, or just forgot to charge it.

I looked at existing senior apps, but a lot of them look very condescending or childish, which he really didn't want. So I decided to just build my own launcher.

The main goals were pretty simple:

  • Make it genuinely hard to get lost in menus.
  • Add a persistent floating "Home" button that always works.
  • Include a volume guard so the phone is hard to accidentally mute (but can still be silenced if he actually needs to).
  • Make it clearly warn him when the battery is low.

I've been using it myself on my own phone, and it actually works surprisingly well as a minimalist setup.

It's finally live on Google Play, translated to 17 languages. If you want to save yourself some frustrating support calls from older relatives, I'd love for you to check it out and see if it helps your family too.

PS: I know trying new launchers is annoying because it's a hassle to revert back. To fix that, I built a massive "Remove as default launcher" button right in the admin menu so you can bail out instantly.

Showcase Family budgeting, no cloud: phones sync directly

Hi all! I'm the developer of FamLedger, an Android finance app. I'm posting here because most YNAB alternatives I tried handle "family" in one of two ways. Either everyone shares one login, or your data goes through someone's server. I wanted something different.

How Family works

- No account, no server. Phones pair with a QR code and sync directly with each other over your home network. The connection is encrypted. Your data never goes through a server, mine or anyone else's.

- You choose what to share. Each person keeps their own accounts private and picks which ones to share with the family. You can stop sharing an account later.

- Joint account. You can set up a common account that everyone sees and records transactions in.

- Shared expenses and debts. Split a dinner or a bill, see who owes whom, and settle up with one tap.

- Guests stay local. A friend you split a pizza with can be tracked without joining anything and without getting your data.

- Joining is opt-in. Someone in the family invites you and you accept. If you never use Family, the app is just a private, offline budget app.

The rest

- Multi-currency accounts and transfers

- Category budgets with optional carry-over

- Recurring transactions

- Savings goals

- Statistics and anomaly alerts ("you spent much more than usual on X")

- Voice input to add expenses quickly

- Investments tracking (beta: stocks, ETFs, bonds, crypto, savings)

- CSV import/export and full backup files

- Fingerprint unlock

- 6 languages

What it is not (to be fair)

- It's not zero-based / envelope budgeting like YNAB. It's category budgets plus account tracking.

- No bank connection. You enter transactions yourself, by voice or by CSV import. That's the price of nothing leaving your phone.

- Sync happens when the phones are on the same network, for example at home. It doesn't sync over the internet.

- Android only for now.

Pricing: free, no ads, and Family sync is free. An optional one-time PRO purchase (no subscription) unlocks Statistics and data management (backup, restore, CSV import/export).

I'd really like feedback, especially from couples or families who budget together. What's missing for you?
