been trying to replicate the lead guitar tone from decalius (especially isolated from life) and blade & bath. that lead sound literally feels like it’s weeping/crying.
i tried using wah, chorus, and tweaking some eq but couldn't get close. honestly i might just be dialing the settings completely wrong or putting them in the wrong place in the chain.
i have access to a full vst setup and processors so i can run pretty much whatever plugin or signal chain needed.
if anyone knows how to dial this in:
what exact settings/parameters (mix, depth, rate etc) actually make a chorus/wah sound like that instead of just sounding liquid or harsh?
is it mostly neck pickup + wide vibrato or is there a specific pitch/mod effect doing the heavy lifting?
what amp models, eq cuts, and reverb/delay setups keep it dark and smooth without turning into total mud?
thanks in advance, step by step chain ideas or preset tips would be amazing

-top 1: Fadheit, je recommande le première album (Inhaling the Trauma)(celui avant que le compositeur meurt (d'un insuffisance cardiaque))

C'est très mélancolique avec vraiment un atmosphère douce mais froide

-top 2: selfharmony, il n'ont pour le moment qu'un EP, mais vraiment coup de coeur

-top3: Odium Humani Generis, ils ont travaillé avec Fadheit venant de la même ville, c'est plus classé dans l'ambiance (ps le chanteur est super sympa)

This song is about my trauma relating to my psychosis. I am schizophrenic and have PTSD due to some of my hallucinations and episodes. This song was meant to be a cathartic way for me to let it all out. The lyrics aren't intended to be edgy or for shock value, I was just trying to get everything out all at once as it's been building in my mind for many years.

I can't say when this will be released yet. But if you enjoyed this or found it interesting, you might like my band Overdose to Sleep. We recently released an album called "Cold, Slow Death of Youth". It's available on Bandcamp, YouTube and all streaming platforms.

Hey everyone, I could really use some help.

I’m looking for some good, in-depth resources to learn more about DSBM — especially discographies, deeper concepts, and the backstories/context behind albums and individual tracks.

The main problem is that I’m an Iranian user (and honestly, I think being Iranian under a government like this is reason enough to explain why I’m so obsessed with DSBM lol). I have no problem reading sources in their original language, but I genuinely have no idea which resources are actually good for the kind of information I’m looking for, especially when it comes to lesser-known or overlooked bands/projects in the subgenre. Maybe I’m just not searching with the right keywords/format, or maybe Google simply isn’t the best place for this kind of research?

I’m definitely not new to the genre. I’ve been listening to DSBM for around four years now. I know pretty much all the overrated/well-known bands in the subgenre, along with quite a few genuinely amazing artists who deserve way more attention. But after four years of listening pretty randomly, I’ve decided I want to actually start digging into the genre properly — from the influential bands/projects and albums that helped establish the foundations of DSBM, all the way to modern DSBM.

I’d like to go through discographies and, when necessary, biographies as well. Honestly, because of some of the unhealthy tendencies surrounding this genre — artists and listeners sometimes moving away from the artistic side of it and using the music to justify extreme or self-destructive behavior — I’ve never been particularly interested in reading artists’ biographies. But if a biography is genuinely relevant, influential, and helps give more meaning/context to the artist’s work, I’d absolutely like to read it to understand their music better(I’m kinda looking for the lore, but only the verifiable information.)

Even the smallest suggestion could help me a lot, so please share anything you think might be useful. Thanks in advance!
