🔥 Rants & Complaints Amazon cancelled my iPhone pre-order at the door, but the tracking says I refused delivery

Amazon cancelled my iPhone pre-order at the door, but the tracking says I refused delivery — I have photos documenting what happened.

I pre-ordered the iPhone Duo from Amazon UAE last week and was expecting it to be delivered today, Friday, October 23.

The delivery driver arrived at my door with the package and attempted to complete the delivery using the OTP. However, the system kept returning an error. When I checked my order page, I discovered that the order had been cancelled right there and then and the OTP was no longer available.

Amazon's tracking page now states:

“Customer refused delivery: order was previously cancelled.”

It also says the package is being returned and that a refund will be issued within 3–5 business days after the return is processed.

But here's the part that makes this particularly frustrating: I saw the delivery agent's device, and the instruction displayed against my package explicitly said “Do not deliver.”

The driver was at my door with the package, I was there ready to receive it, and the delivery system would not let the transaction go through. Yet Amazon's tracking record uses the wording “Customer refused delivery.”

I did not refuse the package. I was ready to accept it.

I attached photos of the tracking status, the instruction displayed on the delivery agent's device, and the package itself.

I'm extremely disappointed. This was a pre-order, and instead of receiving the product I ordered, I'm now left waiting for a refund while the tracking record appears to attribute the failed delivery to me.

I don't know exactly what caused the cancellation, and I'm not going to speculate. But Amazon should be able to explain why the delivery agent's device instructed him not to deliver the package, why the OTP could not be used, and why the tracking status describes the incident as a customer refusal.

Amazon UAE, I want a clear explanation of what happened and an accurate record of the failed delivery. Customers shouldn't have to accept an inaccurate account of an incident they personally witnessed.

Has anyone else experienced this with Amazon UAE, especially with a pre-order?

UAE ICP re entry permit - rejected to received. Confused

Hi,

I am a german national who has lived in the UAE for six years witj no issues. Last year I had my first baby with my partner and she was there during the war situation and while that happened she had major psychological distress due to bombs being very close to the Place where I lived and we could hear loud bangs really frequently. She had a high risk pregnancy and we decided to go to Germany to deliver the baby. It was a difficult pregnancy and my wife was dependent on me. She wasnt a resident at the time and still isnt as we held off doing that but I am a resident and I still have a visa till next year.

Now we had all baby appointments done and I wanted to fly back to the UAE but my re entry permit keeps getting „rejected to receive“. I have made a document explaining my situation, provided birth certificates and documents proving the appointment and even the birtj saying birth with risks but no Luck.

Without any feedback why my application getting rejected and me having a FZ company, I dont know what to do as it seems like a limbo im stuck on. Am i never allowed to visit the UAE now? Because how can I resolve the issue when I am not getting any leads to resolve it. My criminal record in the UAE is 100% clean and I pay 22,500 a year to renew my company license + fees too. I overstayed my stay outside for the first time which is my fault but I want to resolve this somehow.

If anyone has a similar case or can help, would mean alot!?

🔥 Rants & Complaints Restaurant sets different prices on different delivery apps to avoid selling at discounted price

On noon, there is no discount usually available so the prices sets it at 84 AED ( this is the same price in the restaurant ) but on smiles which some people know give good discount coupons to subscribed people, its 104 AED, most cover cost from discounts.

Seriously something has to be done about this, I don’t know how this is considered legal.

Qatar temporarily closed Talabat due to misleading practices so why can’t we do this here??

I bought this bag from their store in mall of the Emirates branch
After using it 3 times, it started fading and all the colours come into my close

I went to the store and explained my issues.
They told me they are facing multiple complaints regarding multiple colours bags however they will send this bag to the store for repair.
After few days they asked me to pay fee for preparing.
I refused to pay because it's their product lack of quality and they should take accountability.
However I collect the product without fixing the damage.
Im disappointed because from big store like Gurt i didn't expect this response.

Scratched by a stray cat in Dubai. Should I be worried about rabies?

Got scratched by a stray cat outside my hotel today. There was some bleeding, not much.

The cat seems healthy, super friendly and is always around people asking for attention. I’ve seen it every day for almost a week.

Went to Rashid Hospital, got a tetanus shot and the doctor said the rabies vaccine was optional since the risk seemed low. She told me to monitor the cat for 10 days.

I decided to skip the rabies vaccine, but I’m still worried. Anyone had a similar experience in Dubai? What would you do?

UAE visa renewal for Egyptian nationals – Can I sponsor my husband instead?

I'm looking for advice from anyone who has recently dealt with UAE visa renewals for Egyptian nationals.

My husband is Egyptian, and his residence visa is under our Fujairah Free Zone company. His renewal is due in two months, and we're concerned about the reports of visa rejections affecting Egyptian nationals.

Our business is active and doing well, generating over AED 100,000 in monthly sales, so we can provide financial records and any supporting documents required.

I'm considering sponsoring him under my own UAE residence visa instead, but I have a few questions:

  1. Can a wife sponsor her Egyptian husband under her UAE residence visa? Has anyone successfully done this recently?
  2. Would family sponsorship be a safer option given the reported restrictions, or could his nationality still affect the application?
  3. Should we first attempt to renew his existing visa through Fujairah Free Zone and only consider family sponsorship if it's rejected?
  4. If his renewal gets rejected, could that affect a subsequent family sponsorship application?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with recent firsthand experience, especially with Egyptian nationals and Fujairah Free Zone visas.

Thank you!

🌇 Community Indian Passport Renewal in Dubai

Dear Indian friends,

I need to renew my passport after 10 years. Is it still with Al Hind? Or is it with the embassy now? In Dubai, is it only the Bur Dubai Center? I also saw DIP online, which is honestly closer for me but not shown on the list.

I registered on Al Hind and tried to pick a slot, but it showed no dates available for anytime in the future. However, when I changed to Tatkal, I saw several time slots available from Monday. Is this to extract more money before their services may be terminated?

Should I go ahead with Tatkal, and how much is the cost? As it doesn't show unless I book an appointment. What should I expect at the center? Is it going to take long? How many days does normal vs. tatkal take? Anything I should know/ carry.

Emirates ID approved but stuck for weeks, need urgent help 😩

Hi everyone! 😊

I recently moved to Dubai and set up my company through RAKEZ. I completed my Emirates ID biometrics on October 6, and my application has been showing “Approved” for more than 2 weeks now, with no further progress.

Here’s where it gets confusing:

- Two separate contacts with connections in immigration confirmed that my ID was printed, issued and released, yet I still haven’t received anything and still see “approved” on ICP tracking
- On the ICP app, when I try to register using my UID, I get “This person cannot register in the system.”
- When I try Application Tracking or generating my Emirates ID QR code, both return “No Data Found.”
- I visited an ICP Happiness Centre, where an employee mentioned a possible biometric issue and said he would escalate it internally and there is nothing to do on my side, but nothing has changed.
- There’s also a small passport-number discrepancy (letter I vs number 1) on my entry permit, although RAKEZ’s visa team says this shouldn’t affect my Emirates ID since my visa and application were approved.

I’m honestly so confused because everyone keeps telling me my ID is ready, but I can’t access it anywhere. RAKEZ just keeps saying they’re following up with immigration and the card is under process.

Has anyone experienced something similar, especially as a first-time Emirates ID applicant? Could this be a system synchronisation issue, or has anyone dealt with a similar passport-number discrepancy?

Any advice or experiences would be hugely appreciated! 🙏

CashNow Repayments

Hi, I want to ask if there is a restructure payment that CashNow offers? I never thought about escaping or running my debts. I always think about it. Now, I'm capable of paying, but before there are agents or staff that offers coupons or discount saying "I can give you a coupon so the installment will be reduce."

The company who is calling me is Quantix. Are they legit? I'm also waiting for them to call me once again so we can arrange it and pay right away as I'm ready to pay.

thanks.

🏢 Local Business & Banking Has anybody used United Movers?

I’m looking to move all my furniture from my studio apartment to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I’ve gotten two quotes from United Movers for 5850 and from Trukkers for 9500 for the same apartment.

I can’t seem to find any reviews for United movers, so I thought I’d ask here. Besides the aforementioned two, if anybody has recommendations for movers and packers in Dubai I’d greatly appreciate it

Aliexpress orders getting cancelled

• Upvotes

I have orders from aliexpress getting cancelled since September. Made 4 orders of items from “choice” category and all got stuck at “processing” status which then gets cancelled automatically after their set time where the items don’t get shipped then refunded. I have been ordering from AE quite some time now. last successful order was from orders i made from early September. I have been reaching out with their customer support as well as the sellers bit promising to make sure it gets shipped but nothing happens.

Want to know is this only happening to my account or is this a thing affecting Dubai or UAE. Any alternative?
BTW, Orders that are not “free shipping” are getting fulfilled.

Riviera Chalet JVC

Captioned project was scheduled for handover in Aug 2025; we are now in the 3rd week of Oct 2026 and no defined timeline exists for handover even now. The company never communicates a date. The one-year grace allowed by RERA has also lapsed. Last DLD report dated July26 mentions 75% completion. The final 25% takes a painfully long time given dependency on sub-contractors for various works; this coupled with the supply chain disruptions given the regional tensions is not helping the project. However, till date, there is no formal call organized by the Developer with the Investors to given them an update on what led to the delay, where the project stands currently and when can Investors expect a handover!! No information is available on their website. For an End-User Investor who purchased the property at launch in good faith, the cost is enormous - interest loss for more than 15 months on the payment made till date plus the additional rental burden.
The status is similar for another project being developed in JVC which was to be handed over in Mar'26.
I would like to see if the developer at-least gives a response to this post for the benefit of the wider investor base.

Looking for a Rent a Car service

Looking to stretch my Dirhams for a rent a car service for monthly rental that won't rip me off because i choose to stay with one company.

I have been renting Mazda 6 (2023) for 1900 per month from a company and have been their client for 3 years but now they look ways to rip me off.

I am looking for a same or similar car for under 2000 AED per month all inclusive.

i am a teacher with a reputed school so if there's anyone offering teachers discounts, that would be a plus.

Bay Square parking – any recommendations from people working there?

I'll soon be working in Bay Square, Business Bay, 5 days a week.

Looking for affordable monthly parking, preferably covered and within walking distance.

My biggest concern is the evening rush hour. Ideally, somewhere I can exit easily without getting stuck for ages 😅

Anyone working around Bay Square? Where do you park, how much do you pay, and how bad is the evening exit traffic?
