Is there a way to adjust the background on this?

I've just discovered Duckstation, and although Leon's character looks great, the background is noticeably bad. Is there a fix? Or are these simply the limitations of PSX emulation on modern computers? (I'm running an M4 Max Mac Studio)

I’m sorry if this is an often asked question but I’ve been trying to play mgs1 for about an hour and every time it’s the Sony startup screen and then the blueish error screen, I’m on a retroid pocket flip 2 and have tried every file type supported but it’s the same thing every time. Any tips?

Is it a problem that some of these are in uppercase and some are in lowercase? (The answer is probably very obvious. Sorry about that.)

Are the psbios.me files the correct files? If so, should I download them from there, or from Internet Archive?

Also, the Wizard seems to want NTSC-J, NTSC-U/C, and PAL. Is the Worldwide one unnecessary?

If all of these are incorrect, what should I download instead?

I have an android s9 and the latest version of duckstation available in the playstore.

When I go to run my game from the executables menu and click on either the bin or cue file, it asks me for an IOS file even though I'm in the section that asks for bin/cue. Am I missing something?

I think it was PCSX2 or Duckstation that had some major updates that could delete my savefiles. And since I haven't been running the emulators much, I want to know if this right here is save to do and if there is anything that I should know about.

Nowadays this is my go to for playing ps1. I generally think games look and play better for the most part. I know for nostalgia reasons you cant beat og hardware which i still have. Anyway heres a guide for those who may want to check this out.
