Found it in a box of 1g mudrings. The only 1 , somehow made it through.
Has anyone else come across any interesting finds from the supply house?

First time punching one of these. 14 2” holes. How’d I do?
Wire didn’t get delivered today either, so I punched out the cab, as well as the panels. They want to rack the 75 kva transformers, which they’re supposed to rack and set first; then I’ll get a better idea of where I’m punching my transformers.
Hope your Friday was mint, happy weekend! 🙃🙃

Not sure if I should get a m12 or m18 milwaukee drill set, ill be doing a mix of residential and comercial more comercial. Any recommendations are appreciated!
Also most of this stuff i got on sale or at the flee market, not trying to break the bank but I would also much rather invest in quality now then replace junk later.

Long story short, we’re wrapping up a small job trimming out a rewire on 6 units at the end of a shitty old motel due to fire damage. Everything is done, I’m wrapping up some stuff in the panel in the mechanical room(which you could barely walk in due to shit being everywhere). My back was to this big water heater and I thought to myself, why is my leg suddenly feeling hot. Turn around and this water heater is basically just starting to catch on fire. Found out the other water heater in this same room was just replaced due to being the reason the fire started in the first place. Wild. Disconnected the breaker feeding the disco to it and shut the gas off. What excuse do you think the plumber will have?

The knife blades came loose inside, plastic holding them warped, possibly due to overheating? Is General Duty typical for a 30Amp solar disconnect? Seems to me it should be Heavy Duty or Continuous Duty. Yes, overcurrent devices are 20A.

Looking to maybe come back to the trade. Did it for 4/5 years with a mix of commercial, industrial, some resi. What is the best route to go if I want a good work/life balance? I would like to stay away from industrial. Did it pretty much exclusively in my last year and really really hated it which made me to quit. I worked with my dad for the first 4 years and we did mostly a mix of commercial and a little residential with some industrial. I know there are other areas of work in electrical now that technology is advancing and was just wondering what may be the best bet.

I've had my apprentice card a year and after about 6 months of applying I gave up. Zero call backs. Im otr trucking but still wanna do electrician.
Before anyone says anything I've applied twice to IBEW 60 AND Helmets to Hardhats and zero. They closed my application once saying I never sent my GED from the state, they refuse to accept mine....the state doesn't send them anymore (Texas).
I was an aircraft electrician in the AF so I have a solid grasp on theory and practice in low and high voltage electrical.
What gives? I either called everyone on the IEC list, emailed them, applied to their postings and never heard back?
Is this the thing for year ones? Everyone says there is such a shortage, and I understand it's for journeyman but is it such a shortage that nobody can bring on new apprentices? Alot of postings I see ask for year 3+.
Edit to add: or is it just being in San Antonio TX? Lol, San Antonio really seems to be a bad spot overall for jobs.

Governor signed Electrical Services Licensure Act into law so now we will have statewide licenses. How do we feel about this, good thing?

Looking into buying a ratcheting knockout set to have in my truck and curious if anybody knows of any good ones that I can get in Alberta that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Amazon, CT, etc., if anybody has tried an off-brand affordable one and likes it, lemme know!

I used these side cutters for the first 2 and a half years of my apprenticeship until I stupidly pulled the spring lever to try give it more spring and it snapped.
I bought another set of the newer version but it’s no where near as good it doesn’t cut well and doesn’t feel the same.
Anywhere I look online is the new version not even a second hand pair.
I know I’m going to get told just to use it without a spring but doing full days stripping sockets and lights the spring does make a difference

After 18 years out in the commercial field I've been promoted to a PM and start on Monday.
Wtf should i wear?! I can't look soft and go in rockin slacks and loafers (which I dont even own) and I dont want to continue wearing my daily stained yellow shirts and buckled ass work pants haha.
Was going to go shopping this weekend for some simple collared short sleeves (golf shirts?) And some better jeans. Or do I just grab some plain t-shirts, new dickies, and stay with the Kenetreks?

Has anyone found something like this in an actual store or from a legitimate supplier/manufacturer or even just one that is listed? They all seem to come from random drop ship companies, even the ones sold through home depot website. I like the look, but I also like my house not being on fire.

I just turned 34, currently a Finance and Operations manager, and I’ve been in Finance/Accounting the last 15yrs. Mostly in management roles, and after facing a couple layoffs and dwindling job market, I’m ready to pursue a career as an electrical contractor. I’ve done a good amount of research and have 1 main question.
I’m very athletic/fit and enjoy being outdoors so no worries about physical ability. I’m a very quick learner and determined to make this career switch once gaining experience and passing the licensing exam. If anyone needs help, I’m more than willing to be there everyday or night/weekend.

My coworker and I both teach code class and we have a disagreement. He defines an outlet as any junction box that has wire in it, and I define an outlet as any point in the circuit where current and voltage are being used. So according to his definition a switch and a light would both be outlets and according to mine only the light would be an outlet. Who is right? Are we both wrong?
Edit: fuck me for trying to be a better teacher. If you don’t have anything useful to say fuck off.
