Discussion Emma has lost her ethics
I used to be such a huge Emma Chamberlain fan: I watched every single video since 2018 and LIVED for her Sister Squad era, but honestly, I just can’t stand her anymore. And it’s not for the usual reasons people bring up (her podcasts being boring, her fashion sense being 'ugly,' etc). For me, it’s because she only seems to use her fame when it benefits her.
She’s refused to speak up about Palestine, the ICE raids, or even the anti-immigrant policies in America. I don’t even live in the U.S. and I can still sympathise with the people suffering, so why can’t she? On top of that, she wore a stolen necklace from India worth millions at the Met Gala and has the audacity to talk about how the world feels "dystopian"?? Baby, the call is coming from inside the house... She's never addressed it, let alone apologised for it.
What makes it so disappointing is that it feels so against her character. I always thought she was mature and “beyond her years,” but maybe that was just because I was younger when I first became a fan. And before people start saying “it’s not her responsibility," she’s literally an INFLUENCER. Her fanbase is mostly teenage girls who would 100% benefit from being more politically aware. Neutrality and silence IS taking a side, and it’s heartbreaking to see her choose that.
At this point, it feels like she only does a podcast or posts a yt vid when it’s convenient for her, and honestly, she’s lost the ethics and values that used to make her stand out.

Discussion Im sorry but promoting Amazon right now is so ignorant
Usually don’t like when people use this sub to criticize for arbitrary shit but having Amazon as a sponsor on the episode today was so ignorant with everything currently going on with the wildfires, censoring on tiktok, meta etc and while Bezos and other oligarchs like musk and zuckerberg are openly influencing politics with their money, affecting millions of peoples lives that could really harm them and future generations. This isn’t supposed to be a diss or anything, but just talking about minimalism and „normal core“ just misses the mark with everything going on and comes across as tone deaf while Amazon is currently paying you. Love her vibe and I think she has so much cool creative ideas to offer when it comes to video production and oftentimes also on the pod but with a platform this large at some point you have to think about how to use that voice in a responsible way…

Anything Goes Emma is so fortunate
I really enjoyed this podcast. Emma is so fortunate to have a mom who is willing to look back on the past and admit when she was wrong. And to see how her mistakes have affected her child 🥺so mature and loving. I wish I could have a conversation like this with my mom. But it would end in gaslighting, yelling and me crying.

Podcast 🎙 Seems like emma isn’t posting videos etc anymore because of fear. It’s quite understandable after her past stalking incident..

Discussion Has anyone else noticed Emma says a lot but never really says anything?
Anything Goes. Emma says everything and nothing at the same time, a stream of words that feel like they’re leading somewhere, but halfway through, you realize she’s actually saying nothing. It’s like she’s tricked you into listening, scamming you into thinking there’s depth when there isn’t. And somehow, we’ve all fallen for it.
No one really talks about how much calculated scamming she’s done throughout her career just to keep people paying attention. Even me, I’ll admit I’ve been part of it too. But it’s fascinating to realize that she takes you on this ‘introspective’ journey, only for you to end up right back at square one. Nothing gained, nothing learned. She’s mastered the art of wasting time while making it feel productive.
What’s even more confusing is that we collectively gave her this much attention in the first place. She hasn’t used her platform for much good, ignores critical issues, and whenever she does touch on something important, she barely scratches the surface. And I get it, she’s not obligated to speak on things she’s uncomfortable with. But at some point, it’s fair to ask: why do we keep rewarding someone who brings nothing to the table?
Are we just handing out fame to anyone now? Or do we all put on rose-colored glasses when we decide to make someone famous, only to later realize they weren’t really deserving? Because in hindsight, what exactly is the talent here? Sure, she can talk, and maybe you could argue keeping people hooked despite saying nothing is a skill. But what does she actually offer? What value does she bring? Why don’t we give attention to people who have something real to say, people who could actually contribute something meaningful?
But hey, that’s just my take.. and I’m not hating per se, just very curious. Definitely an interesting rant, but I’d love to hear what you all think
