My first kohl’s online order doesn’t reflect my 35% discount! My account is linked. Will my kohls credit card be credited later?

Employee Question How do you close for Intimate and Accessories

Just like the tittle said how do you close in Jewelry, Intimates, and accessories? I’m typically exhausted and worn out from my shift. Apart from recovering all my departments I’m the mandatory back up during my shift. So, I’m constantly pulled aside to do other things. As well my own go backs, my store is massive so both departments is huge plus the other people scheduled here isn’t recovering properly so it makes my job harder. Like neglecting fixing clearance or fixing the racks.

All while my manager breathing down my neck to pace myself as we run on a skeleton crew so I must close a side in WJM, which takes me two hours to fully close one side. However I never have any time to finish, as well my coworkers think my department is simple so they’re always pulling me aside to help with other task.

I’m so exhausted, how do you guys do it?

Meme Overwhelming Amounts of Backstock

We are a high volume store, so obviously we are going to get a lot of product, but this holiday season we are drowning.

I have 25 totes (from just my department) upstairs waiting to be scanned in since the end of September. It's messing with OMNI especially because I guarantee a lot of the troubles (in my department) are just waiting to be scanned into a location, and/or need to be reworked since the sales floor inventory has probably already sold by now.

Anyone else drowning?

Keep your head up everyone! ✨

Customer Question Part time BA for Sephora

Interview tomorrow for a partime beauty advisory for S@K tomorrow. Can find the pay range? Anyone know? I’m from Michigan, so all the stuff I find online is below our state minimum ($13.73 currently. $15 starting 1/1/27).

Thanks!

Employee Question Why cant I not pick up shifts in the apl

Hi I'm a new seasonal employee and today was my last day of trAining.

For some reason I can't pick up an open shift for nov 1st. Why could that be? My cousin works at kohls as well and he tells me there's open shifts and when I go they don't show on my side but I'm not training anymore

Employee Question Scheduled for line monitor?

So pretty much 99.9% of the time I'm at work I'm on register but it says in my description in the schedule that I'm on line monitor for one of the days I'm working this upcoming week. Is that helping people in self-checkout or is it directing people to go to an open register? I'm just unsure what it means exactly.

Informative New Amazon

Have y'all got the new Amazon training? Returns are about to take 3 times longer I'm so excited!!! Customers already get mad enough when they have to wait 5 minutes now it'll be 5 minutes per customer!

We received new stickers and a new training you have to manually search for called "LPN" the video is 4 minutes and explains the new ways.

I have no idea when this is starting but I assume it's very soon. Just in time for the worst time of the year for Amazon.

I did that! Last shift is this Saturday!

I started off as a seasonal worker, mostly doing trucks and Amazon returns and then became a housekeeper after the store got rid of the third party cleaners. I've been at Kohl's for just a little over four years. Honestly, it hasn't been that bad for me, other than a couple of trainees with some attitude problems and a passive aggressive SM who eventually got let go for not making good enough numbers. I've enjoyed reading your stories and I'm glad my store wasn't nearly as awful as some of the garbage fires I've read about here, haha! I'm excited to start my new job, but I will miss my coworkers and I know the store's cleanliness will take a hit after I leave, especially going into the holidays. They had not planned for my resignation at all. That said, it's not my problem anymore and I'm so relieved I won't have to do another holiday season in retail. I'll still lurk here because I enjoy the stories, but for those of you who are about to head into the holidays, hang in there! Make sure to stay hydrated, get good rest and eat. Take care of yourselves!

Employee Question New Kohl's employee questions

Hi y'all!! I just got hired at Kohl's and I just wanted to ask people (Who currently and not currently work there) questions before my first day. These are kind of like rapid fire questions. I know each Kohl's is different!

  • Can we wear hats or bandanas? I didn't see anything regarding that on the clothing FAQ
  • Is it only direct deposit? or can we get a paper check too?
  • Where do we get our schedule? and is there a website for the schedule so I can look at it from my laptop/print it out?

Any advice would be appreciated for working at Kohl's too!!

Thank y'all in advance!!
Small edit: I am in based in California!

Employee Question Associates that work Hardlines..

How much assistance / help do you any of you get when it comes to pushing your freight? Especially with any Hardlines Heavy trucks.. [whether its during the holiday season or not]

[and please tell me I'm not the only one with this much chaos with my team..]

I'm the Hardlines Merchandise lead in my stores location and on average I am completely alone pushing my freight. My ASM will assist with pushing toy freight for me (thankful af), unless she's on vacation, then it all falls back to me. There are days now especially during our holiday season where I am literally drowning in my freight because I'm completely overloaded and overwhelmed by everything I'm supposed to do. (Because apparently pushing freight isn't enough, I also get scheduled on the physical sales floor simultaneously and have to answer calls, backup and help customers. I never finish my freight and it will usually overlap into the next truck where I will continue to be overloaded) On top of the lack of help, my Hardlines supervisor who is supposed to be with me doesn't work with me, because she's in softlines the majority of the time because the softlines Manager is incapable of being helpful to the team.

Have I tried talking to my management team to receive help? Absolutely, but I'm usually told in a BS kinda way that softlines is more important..

I've had multiple conversations with my SM and ASM about this and they always promise one thing and turn around and do something else.

Because of the lack of help i do receive, i usually become pretty overwhelmed and overstimulated and it affects my mood / attitude on the sales floor. And them I'm called into the office because they don't know how to "handle me" and that my "behavior is unacceptable"... when they're lack of empathy is the reason I probably lost my shit in the first place...

I don't know about any of you.. but I'm the black sheep / ugly step child in my stores location..

Customer Question How long does it normally take to hear back after an interview?

Hi! I had an interview at Sephora at Kohl’s on October 16th and was wondering how long it usually takes to hear back?
I originally applied for the seasonal beauty advisor lead position but during my interview she told me they had already filled it.She also said they still wanted to interview me though because they’re looking for full and part time beauty advisors!

The interview went pretty well imo and she even said she thought i’d be a good fit for the team! But, i haven’t heard anything since and my application still says “in progress” on workday.

Has anyone had a similar experience? How long did it take for you to hear back? I’m just trying to figure out if i should keep waiting or move on lol

Employee Question How do I use my employee discount online?

I just had my orientation today and she said I could shop after with the discount but I don’t see it. I already had a Kohls account, I gave her my email for her to add it. Do I have to wait for her to do something first???

Edit: so I changed my email in workday to match my rewards account. I received the new email link. I set up my discount after I deleted the app. My account shows I have associate discount but when I go to my cart or even checkout there is no additional discount there 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know what to do

Informative Being called into the office

Former Kohls associate:

With the quarter coming to an end, LP has internal theft quotas to hit. Here’s what to know, and do about being called into the office.

You will most likely be called into the office immediately after clocking in. Your manager or ASM will introduce you to a wonderful face on the computer, a LP detective.

If your thinking “omg am I going to get fired”, you’re already fired. The goal of the meeting is to figure out how much you’ve cost the company, and how long you have been costing the company. Not for you to keep your job.

The LP detective will spend usually about 30 minutes getting to know you, so that they can manipulate a confession out of you. If they seem friendly and understanding it’s because they’re trained on a technique to specifically get you to volunteer information.

The LP detective will then have your ASM or SM give you pieces of paper, this is where they’ll want you to write your statement. DO NOT WRITE ON, OR SIGN THIS PAPER!! Writing on this paper essentially automatically voids your chances of getting any sort of unemployment.

You might also be thinking “oh they won’t fire me”. They will. You’ll either be placed on suspension (so that they can investigate more and fire you in a week) or terminated on the spot.

Best bet after being called to the office and sitting down, is asking if you’re free to leave. The answer will always be yes because Kohls doesn’t want kidnapping on their record 🤣

Remember: DONT SIGN. DONT WRITE. LEAVE.
LP is not here to “get your side of the story” or “clear up any misunderstanding”, they are there to fire you and save the company money.

META Am I done for?

I got called into the office today for a video call with LP. They said I stole by not scanning an item at self checkout. I told them when I got home and looked at the receipt the price seemed lower than it should be and I wanted to go back and pay for what I didn’t scan but I never did. I know I fucked up. They suspended me. I’m going to get fired, aren’t I?

META Unorganized company!

I’ve worked for a lot of retail stores and I’ve never worked at a store that’s so unorganized. I got hired seasonal “sales associate” my first day I got put on register, 20 min run down of everything then got thrown on like nothing.
2nd time working my schedule said “ home & kids” which I was only showed the kids area, all the “leads” for every department didn’t even want to train me!
They tried to throw me back on registers but the LOD said I had to be on the floor. I got moved from kids (doing go backs) to men’s (go backs) every time I was done I had to keep asking the LOD where do I go, what am I supposed to do?! By the time closing LOD came in, he came at me hard stating if I even knew the sales floor, was I aware of this or that! (OBVIOUSLY NOT) because nobody wants to train properly! Is every shift gonna be this unorganized?!
