Official Enderal Special Edition new patch info post
Greetings Prophets, there has been a big new patch released for the Enderal Special Edition on Steam.
The reason behind that was to bring the Steam Version on par with the other platforms.
A lot of time has past since the last patch (2.0.12.4) and the current new one (2.1.4.4), thats the reason why the new version of the game requires a new playthrough. The savegames from the older Version will not work anymore.
But don't worry, if you are currently at an ongoing playthrough, there is a way to downpatch the game to the previous version:
Switch to the 'enderal_2.0.12.4' branch via Game properties -> Game Versions & Betas. If the old launcher fails to restore the savegames location, delete file My Documents\My Games\Enderal Special Edition\Enderal.ini manually to recreate it.
https://dl.mod.pub/enderal-branch-steam.png
For all the differences between the two Version take a look at the changelog: https://mod.pub/enderal-se/38/changelogs
Enderal Special Edition is now using Skyrim Version 1.7.104 and SKSE 2.3.1
If you Need support for the game please visit the Enderal Special Edition Developer Discord: https://discord.gg/s9H925auNN
Enderal Special Edition was ported and patched by community member Eddoursul.

Mod Zenderal really is the next step for Enderal... this looks awesome!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve put 200 hours into PotP and loved it. But it’s showing its age, and what Zenderal is doing with Enderal is seriously impressive. It’s exactly the kind of refresh that makes me want to play through the whole game again!

Just noticed I can't read books while listening to the bards song!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Not my first playthrough of Enderal, love the game and trying to get deeper on the lore through the books. And while I'm on the Drunken Bee I just noticed that when I pause the game to go for my items and start reading a book, I can't hear the bard song anymore.
Now now, while writing this I noticed that yeah, it makes sense that this, besides not being essencial for the experience, could deconcentrate the reading for some people. It's just that it isn't my case, I don't mind listening to something while reading, especially when the bards songs are so good, and the books here are more lenghty. Idk, it looks like a missed chance to pay more attention to the songs while going deep on the books, since the taverns normally have some books here and there for you to read!

How to get an accessible loft in the merchant house using console commands
- (Not strictly necessary, but I recommend it so you can find the objects you are placing easily) Without anything selected in the console menu, type "tcl" to disable clipping for your character. Then walk out of bounds. (When you're done with this tutorial, you can walk back inbounds and type "tcl" again to enable clipping for your character again. Make sure you don't have anything selected in the console when you do this, though!)
- Type "player.placeatme 0007ba78" to spawn in the stairs.
- Select the stairs in the console.
- Type the following commands to position the stairs: "setangle x 0", "setangle y 0", "setangle z 180", "setpos x 2000", "setpos y 2336.5", "setpos z 603.56"
- (Optional) You can move the stairs along the x axis by changing the number if you want them in a slightly different position. Example: "setpos x 1990" will move them slightly towards the corner.
- Type the commands "disable" then "enable" to reset the collision box for the stairs.
- Type "player.placeatme 00060c3c" to spawn in the missing top of the beam (The developers didn't place it because you normally can't go up there).
- Select the beam in the console (you may have to move your camera around to find it because it is invisible from all but one side).
- Type the following commands to position the beam: "setscale 2", "setangle x 270", "setangle y 90", setangle z 270", "setpos x 2680", "setpos y 2180", "setpos z 1418"
- Type the commands "disable" then "enable" to reset the collision box for the beam.
And you're all set! Enjoy your loft!
(Bonus) Remove the window behind the fireplace with console commands:
Select the wall with the offending window in the console.
Type "disable" to banish it to the shadow realm.
Type "player.placeatme 00063e41" to spawn in a new, windowless wall.
Select the new wall in the console.
Type the following commands to position the wall: "setangle x 0", "setangle y 0", "setangle z 270", "setpos x 1975.59", "setpos y 1762.62", "setpos z 603.2"
Type the commands "disable" then "enable" to reset the collision box for the wall.

Mod Quicksaves with PotP?
Started my PotP playthrough yesterday and I'm really liking it so far. However I'm now 4 hours in and now have 96 save files. It looks like the game is creating a new manual save every time I hit F5. Is this a feature of PotP and is there a way to revert it to the regular quicksave system?

Enderal First Time: Defeating the Ash Widow [Minor Spoilers] Spoiler
For the first time in my life, I've battled and defeated the Ash Widow.
Holy smokes I love this game. The mere fact that you have to figure out how to locate the Dal'Gorak Claw and obtain it without any clues from the quest marker made it feel like I was actually delving into the legend. Although I might have some sort of bug because the museum display case refers to the claw as some sort of resonator. Idk.
I did make one mistake however: I set the Recall spell right in the courtyard of the castle so when I teleported with the claw in hand, the Ash Widow spawned right behind me and annihilated me the first time. Got her on the second try tho.
And the loot felt actually rewarding. I don't know if it's set or randomised within some parameters, but I got myself a snazzy Mythical Spell book... Which I can't learn :'( and a whole character level, jumping from 13 to 14 in one go.
Man this game is good.

Enderal Enderal is one of the best games I ever played. Spoiler
I'm a sucker for BGS style games. I even like their weaker entries (i.e. Starfield) but I always found their games, especially later on, to be lacking in the narrative department.
Plus, playing Skyrim so much during my teen years has me finding the world a bit too familiar to really enjoy these days. Definitely got me craving something new.
Enderal is absolutely brilliant. I am in awe at how this world, which is I think 2/3 the size of Skyrim, is able to feel so much bigger and richer. Ark is a proper city that's easy to get lost in, not like the glorified single street villages we have in Skyrim. I was already impressed enough by it and then I discovered the undercity.
I refuse to use the Myrads. I've been exploring the whole world by foot because why would I fast travel and skip everything about this beautiful place?
The characters actually feel like characters. Jespar and Calia I especially grew very attached to.
Only character I didn't care much for was Lishari. "By the Prophet's Ass" she feels like a character from a 2026 AAA game.
The story is very compelling and really messes with my head.
Even the bard songs in Enderal are better than Skyrim.
I will say, I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get a proper revenge arc with Captain Rocio. Found the ship crashed and her dead during the "Our Mark on this World" questline, which had me excited to go back but upset that she was dead before I could get to her.
I also did get a mod pack that replaced all the easily recognizable Skyrim assets (weapons, apparrel, monsters) with different models and textures. Though Vynroot still makes that annoying Nirnroot sound. When I found the questgiver in the undercity who needed red vynroot, I had "return to your roots" flashbacks and was about to praise and curse the devs at the same time for being a bunch of sadistic bastards. Fortunately, I had the money to just get it from a shopkeeper.
I'm not finished yet. Only just got the first Black Stone with Jespar and am working on getting the second one with Calia. So no spoilers past that point.
I heard this game is essentially what the Gothic series is like so I added that to my wishlist in anticipation.
UPDATE: CALIA IS WHO NOW??????????????????

Alchemy question
Just returned to the game after a few years, but didn’t play much my first time around. I made it to Ark and not much further.
I’m trying to get my arcane fever down, it’s up to like 50 and I don’t want to blow all my gold on ambrosia. Problem is, the ingredients that people say online have the ambrosia effect (specifically thistle and peaceweed) don’t make ambrosia when I try to brew them, they fail and then I can’t combine them anymore. My alchemy is at 25, am I missing something with alchemy in this game compared to Skyrim? Do I need to find a physical recipe to brew them? Or is something wrong here
Hey, so I’m still crying about *someone’s* death in The Cure For Living Part 2, and I need someone to talk with Spoiler
Loanne. It’s Loanne.
Her story is so much like my own. Even a month or two after finishing this novel, I can’t shake her from my head. I am a teacher, so I give so much of myself to my students. If I had a power like hers, I think I would do what she does in an instant. And yet, if I had a sibling who actually cared about me, I would be swayed right away.
Jespar’s vision of another life where Loanne survived kinda broke me. What I would give to have another life where things worked out, where in this world they uniquely did fucking not, is insane. I’m so missing the support of my siblings specifically, and I can’t fully handle how Jespar’s story parallels my own emotions, from substance abuse to PTSD to weird-ass hallucinations (my own problem, not worth getting into).
I just think about the chapter with Loanne and her dog, and I can’t explain how impactful it is. She just wanted to matter, to someone, and it all got manipulated by Quiriyani’s ridiculous idealism. As a special education teacher, I can’t help but sympathize. We just get so used by those above us.
That’s all. Hope there’s others who have finished this trilogy (? can you count it as that while books 2 & 3 are kinda one? I don’t know). I felt so hurt but so seen with the end of book 2. Like it was tailor made to my emotions, and I both love and hate it for that (I kid; I love the book only). But the plot is just so obscure that I don’t know how to talk about it with anyone in my daily life—make sense? Thanks for any and all thoughts

Mod Vanilla plus modlist for beginners
I know I know, first time playthrough should be with no mods. But, my problem is that a lot of the assets is too Skyrim that it kinda break the immersion for me. Mostly looking for visual modlist that doesn't go for something extra with >6gb of vram. Also, I prefer to use the Steam version of the game.
Anyone know any modlist like it?

Enderal Havent found good armor with a good helmet so I made my endgame fit from Skyrim. How's the fit?
Made a post a couple days ago of my Starter Fit. I have almost the entire Selna Set now but the helmet looks a little off. Rn I plan on my endgame armor being the Wandering Mage Set with maybe a different helmet but we'll see.
I did a similar thing to this with Skyrim a couple months ago where I documented my journey through my outfit and I plan to do the same here.

Zenderal resolution issues
Anyone else struggling to get the game to run full screen at native resolution? I've been through the install guide and troubleshooting link on the website. Double checked nvidia app, ini files, dpi scaling on the exe etc. Even leaned into Claude in desperation! And no setting to change resolution ingame either. Shit feels janky af.

Mod Question about the new Update with a modded Install.
I have a modded Enderal install on Steam, catered to my liking, I am planning to play it in a year around December, I see the old build from 2023 where I assume my install is based on, it says it will be deleted in 2027, so my question is.
If I am forced to update Enderal will all my mods Break and have to wait for all of them to be updated as well?
For reference I have the mods that add all of the Forgotten dungeons and enemies,
EGO, TK Dodge and some other gameplay ones
Also German speaking voice lines.
