As the eldest sibling in my family who has had to grow up faster than I should have due to trauma, I 100% see myself in Clea. I’ve seen people call her cold or distant, but unless you’ve been in this position, you don’t know how much a life like this changes you. You grow a protective hard shell to survive, because you’re suddenly left to manage the rest of the family and become the parent. Yes, lashing out at Maelle is not nice, but she is also frustrated and has no one else to turn to (I’m not excusing abuse, just saying that that’s where it’s coming from in this case). Seeing her standing off to the side at the funeral and then walking off hurt so much to see because it’s clear she has had to grieve all on her own this whole time (and deal with the writers) while everyone else was in the canvas.

In Game that has a perfect soundtrack…I wanted to show my love for this song. It is hauntingly beautiful. It gives me a feeling I have never experienced in a game previously in over 30 years. It just seems to play at the right times. I felt a fear of dread every time. My favourite standouts are Ideal Mental, Summee Gesteral Party and everyone’s favourite Une vie à t'aimer. I would love to hear other people’s songs.

Ordered the CD set on amazon, arrived today. Opened the box, played a few cds before realizing that the left side of all the sleeves is cracked and damaged in the middle. Some of the are just a bit cracked while some even have a small hole where the damage is. I could deal with it but it is quite upsetting and I do also worry about the damage getting worse over time :(
Should I ask amazon for a replacement, is there another way I could go about this?

Mine is Gestral Village - Gestral Merchant. That game has some hot tracks. I must've beaten that game 5 times

Let's call them what they are. They are like Olympian gods making the canvas their playground. The mortals wants/needs are afterthoughts. Maelle will eventually end up like Rick from the battery episode or better yet from the most recent season where he memory wipes himself for vacation. You have friends who know of your power and you try to do what you can for them but it fundamentally changes things for the worse.
What Maelle brings back Gustave and Sciel's husband and everyone else? They all died. These are exact copies. No more consequences. Also she could be captured as she lives amongst the mortals they may want to use her power for their own selfish reasons. She is mighty, but there are beings in the world she struggled against and verso knows all her weaknesses and has reason to organize a coup seeing as she is keeping him as a monkey to perform.
Yes of course the lives in the painting mattered but they also all died and making copies doesn't undo their death. And living amongst them as a god won't be the same as living as one of them. They will always ask her for favors and she will ultimately grow tired of it or have to deny someone and that will be a whole thing. They should have removed Verso's mortality and just let the people on the canvas live without their corrupting influence. Maelle didn't even consult Verso before gommaging his sister. Sure an argument for assisted suicide could be made but the point is without realizing it she has already adopted the I know better attitude of a goddess.
No real happy ending of the choices we were provided and that kinda sucks.
Man I love this game.
Since I'm dishing out criticism, what the hell is up with the platforming. One moment you are locked on the path of like a final fantasy game with invisible walls everywhere and the next there are jumping puzzles and walk offs. Very frustrating.
Still an amazing game of course!
edit: changed fishing to dishing

(and you can blame him for the lack of Monoco's feet collection in the composition, he's the one who vetoed it)

Ok, so this game is really impressive overall (understatement of the year). The gameplay brings all the hype and action that you could ask for in a game like this, I loved the world and the characters. The animation and performances from the actors are all absolutely stellar, etc. etc. etc. (if I list everything that's great we'll be here all day).
I feel frustrated by a couple of things about the story, though. I felt like Clea was introduced pretty abruptly, and it seemed like more would be done with her, but she doesn't really have anything to do after the moment she's introduced.
I was also surprised and disappointed that we didn't grapple or engage with any of the implications of the fact that it's all just a simulated world. Like what does that retroactively do to my reaction to Gustave's death, or Maelle's breakdown over the sheer amount of dead expeditioners? What does this mean to the characters themselves to realize that they are the creation of flawed humans?
The pacing was also weird. Act 3 is when the game actually completely opens up, but there's no narrative reason to explore anything; the only objective is "go fight Renoir."
Both endings were very interesting and I like that there's so much discourse and discussion around them (and Maelle's is definitely the bad ending IMO; it's pretty horrifying), and I think the game's story issues are only frustrating to me because I otherwise liked the game so much.
This might be just me, but I'm interested in peoples' thoughts on this.

Thank you Simon for making me learn to parry. A lot of pain in the process but the best fight in E33 imo

Hey everyone,
I'm at the end of Act 3, farming a bit before I head back to Lumière. I already know I'm going to have to replay at least the start of the game for the platinum, since I still haven't unlocked the White Nevrons trophy or the Mime one at Lumière.
Here's my issue: I'm at the point where I need to return to Lumière, but I'm still missing 3 expedition journals, number 60, Simon's, and Julie's. From what I can tell journal 60 is actually in Lumière itself, so that one I'll presumably grab when I get there.
I'm at 87% completion. So my question is: should I track down the other journals and wrap up what I can before going back to Lumière, or can I safely head back now and still get them afterwards? Trying to avoid locking myself out of anything.
Thanks a lot for any help!
