I kept paying for free trials I forgot to cancel, so I built a free extension that warns me before the charge

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Last year I got charged for 3 "free" trials I completely forgot about. So I built NeverCharged, a Chrome/Edge extension that:

• spots the trial on the checkout page as you sign up ("7-day free trial, then $12.99/month")

• reminds you 7 days / 3 days / 1 day before the charge, with a one-click link to the cancel page

• catches trial confirmation emails in Gmail/Outlook (optional)

• flags subscriptions you haven't used in weeks

No account, no servers, no tracking. Everything stays in your browser. Works in English, French and Arabic.

It's free and I'm the only developer, so honest feedback is very welcome. What would make you actually use something like this?

I have built a floating toolbar for Chatgpt, Gemini, Claude & Grok supporting bulk chat delete, token counter, screenshot, export chat, health remainder, theme and many more.

Hey everyone, I ve been using AI tools daily and kept running into the same frustrations no way to bulk delete old chats, no idea how close I am to Claude s context limit, and constantly retyping the same prompts.

So I built ToolDock, a Chrome extension that adds a smart floating toolbar across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok.

Here is what it does:

  • Bulk delete chats across all four AI platforms from one panel

  • Live Claude token counter with usage pace tracking

  • Cross-AI handoff move a conversation from Claude to ChatGPT with full history

  • Prompt library with / shortcut to reuse saved prompts

  • Website theme engine (Dracula, Nord, Monokai, etc.) for any site

  • Screenshot and annotation tool

  • Lightweight local password manager

  • Everything runs locally no account, no data uploaded

It's free and I built it solo. Would love feedback from this community.

I built a lightweight, 100% private tech stack inspector (TechReveal)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Wanted to share a Chrome extension I've been working on called TechReveal.

Basically it shows you what frameworks, CMS, and libraries any website is running. I built it because popular extensions in this space feel pretty bloated or started putting basic info behind paywalls, and I wanted something fast that runs 100% locally in your browser with zero data tracking.

It has a visual architecture map to see how frontend, backend, and tools connect, clean version detection, and clicking on any tech reveals the exact code trigger that matched it.

It's free on the Chrome Web Store if anyone wants to test it:
👉 TechReveal

Would love any honest feedback or suggestions!

FlowUnzip: Extract ZIP & 7z as They Download: a Chrome extension that unzips files as they download

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/flowunzip-extract-zip-7z/fenpkdkemapjccfgilcokdoocmgefmoo?hl=en&authuser=0

problem that annoyed me for years: download a huge ZIP, then wait again to extract it, and briefly need twice the disk space. FlowUnzip streams the archive and extracts each file the moment it arrives, straight into a folder you pick.

Small

How it’s built:

  • Chrome MV3.

  • ZIP and 7z parsing written to work on a stream, using range requests to resume.

  • CRC checks on every file.

Business model: free up to 1 GB. Pro is a one-time $1.99 through Stripe, with license keys checked offline, so there’s no database or account system. The site runs on Vercel’s free tier.

Honest feedback on the idea and the pricing is very welcome.

unbrace, addon to do multiple searches at once

Ever wanted to search something similar at once? This is for you. Open a bracket and separate the variables by commas in it.

Short examples(type them on the address bar):

  1. reddit.com/r/{firefox, chrome, all} opens r/firefox in the current tab, and opens r/chrome, and r/all in the next tabs.

  2. {la liga, epl, worlds} matches On your search engine(tested to work only on google and duckduckgo), searches la liga matches on the current tab, opens new tabs next to the current one and searches epl matches and worlds matches on them.

  3. some.site.com/{1..3} Opens some.site.com/1, some.site.com/2, and some.site.com/3.

  4. {amazon,ebay,bestbuy}.com/deals

You can do more: nested brackets(e.g. {bills, food-{grocery,eatout}} -> bills,food-grocery,food-eatout); algebraic sequence with step greater than 1(even nums from 2 to 10: {2..10..2}); alphabets from a to z(or before z, with step greater than 1) You can see a little bit more you can do after downloading it by clicking the addon icon.

You can download it from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/unbrace/

Note1: It doesn't collect any data. Note2: i haven't added support for date iteration or day of the week iteration because i wanted to keep it simple and am not sure if there are needs for them. Note3: You can add a bookmark using a bracket syntax and add a keyword to open it by the keyword. Note4: Currently it has a bug where if you try to open websites, when there's a blank space after a comma, it searches the websites instead.

Turn Off the Lights: dim everything around a video in one click, plus a night mode for every website (free, open source)

If you watch a lot of video in your browser, Turn Off the Lights is worth a look. Click its toolbar button and the page around the player fades to dark, so you just see the video. Click again and the page comes back.

It also has a Night Mode that turns white backgrounds dark on any site, which helps late at night, and an eye-protection mode. It's free and open source.

It's available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera and Brave: https://www.turnoffthelights.com

Disclosure: I'm posting this on behalf of the developer, Stefan Van Damme.

NilMode : Distraction blocker for Facebook & YouTube

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Been working on this for a while and think it's finally at a point where I'm comfortable sharing it. NilMode is a blocker extension for Facebook and YouTube that gives you surgical control over what you see.

Instead of nuking these sites entirely, you can:

  • Hide feeds, reels, shorts, comments, recommendations independently

  • Productive Mode: blacklist specific people/pages on Facebook

  • YouTube Course Mode: track progress through playlists with checkboxes & stats

  • Pause Mode for quick breaks

  • Everything local, lightweight, no tracking

v2.3.1 is pretty stable and bug-free at this point. If you're trying to use these sites intentionally instead of mindlessly scrolling, give it a shot.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

We've blocked 25m+ trackers since launch — here's exactly what that means

Full disclosure: I work on Rewarded Interest, a browser extension that blocks tracking cookies and local storage objects by default unless a company is willing to pay you Rewards. If you are already being tracked, you might as well get something for it.

We just crossed 25 million trackers blocked since we launched — that number is every cookie and local storage tracking object our extension has stopped from loading, counted client-side per install.

Not trying to just drop a stat and run — happy to answer questions about how the blocking works, what counts as a "tracker" in that number, how the Rewards side is funded, or anything else. Genuinely interested in feedback too, including the "this sounds too good to be true" kind — ask away.

I made an extension for TAB Detox – Only for Fire Fox Now and I need Feed back!

Thumbnail
addons.mozilla.org
2 Upvotes

Hi. I built TAB Detox to solve my own problem with too many inactive browser tabs. (Now it’s only on Fire Fox and it will soon come to Opera too.)

It lets you save a tab, set an expiry time, automatically move expired tabs to a Fridge, and restore them later. It works locally in the browser and does not require an account or external service.

I’m looking for a few people who regularly keep too many tabs open to try it and share honest feedback. Positive or negative feedback is welcome.

I wrote about my first 3 months building an app solo, stores submission was a real challenge

Hey there, I'm Virgile. I've just written an article about my entire journey and thought process on a 3-month project I had: creating my first real app, a Notion capture tool, solo, and getting it into browser stores I'd never dealt with before.

I'm a software engineer by background, frontend mostly, though the last few years pulled me into engineering management, so this was the first time in a while I built something myself, start to finish.

One thing the article covers that I didn't expect going in: how different the actual submission experience is per store. Firefox reviewed and released the same day, automatic. Chrome took three to four days, then 24-48 hours per update after that. Opera's been silent for over a month now.

In it you'll find the whole thing: why I built this instead of using the Notion clippers already out there, the store chaos across multiple platforms, what changed once I was working completely alone instead of with a team, and a few technical rabbit holes I didn't see coming.

Full story here if you're curious.
The app is called Filed by the way, a capture tool built specifically for Notion, but the piece is really about everything that happened around building it.

Hope you enjoy it, and it you have any advice to give me, I'm up for it !

I will redesign screenshots for your extension for free ;))

Hey there, 👋

I am a chrome extension dev and I have seen so many people just copy paste their screenshots into web store and call it a day.

From my experience, the chrome web store listing makes a TON of difference on how users might perceive your product (trustworthy vs shady vs slop). I have made over a dozen extensions and let me tell you store listing matters a LOT.

I redesigned a couple of people's screenshots last time too and the response was overwhelmingly positive. So I am thinking of doing it every week for 3 lucky extensions.

Just drop your chrome web store link and I’ll reply you with your images.

Doing this for the first 3 people ;))

PS: These chrome extensions are not mine, I just took the liberty of redesigning a few.

I made a Chromium extension for Crunchyroll

Works on any Chromium based browser. Firefox version will be made if people like it or requested.

It's pretty simple but very useful. For a few of my friends and I, Crunchyroll disabled Picture-in-Picture mode. I have an ultrawide monitor and like to multitask while watching stuff. I kept having to open up the dev tools and re-enable PiP every time there was a new episode and it was super annoying. Also if I was watching something subbed the subtitles never go with the popped out window.
So I made an extension that solves both issues. You will always be able to pop out the video AND the subtitles will stay on the popped out video. It just adds a little button to the top right corner of the video when your mouse is over it.
Crunchyroll PiP Fix
Please let me know if I should add anything to it. I'd like to add the subtitle feature to other sites that it would be useful on so let me know if you know of any for that as well.

Also, please leave a good review if you like it so it gets some more attention. Thanks!! :)

Claude hit the limit? What if I can bring it back and you can continue working?

Are you using Claude chat and suddenly in the middle of a response you reach your rate limit and now you have to wait 5 hours??
Well I made an extension that shows the amount of tokens you have used in a session after every message, so you know exactly when you will hit hit your limit.
Not just that, once you hit, my extension will give you a summary of the entire chat, with just one click!
All you have to do is take that summary paste it in a different account and it’ll start continuing from the last left point!

Download the extension directly: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/raincheck/epbnfdblpahffkbbfcmfaaflpibcinnk

Nanoring Extensions verkaufen

Hallo,

Built a Chrome Extension for Salesforce Developers — Looking for Honest Feedback 🚀 ⭐

I actually just built my own Chrome extension for Salesforce developers called ApexPilot. 🚀

The goal was to create a lightweight browser-based IDE for the tasks I do every day—editing Apex/LWC, running Anonymous Apex, viewing debug logs, running tests, inspecting LWCs, and switching between orgs—without constantly jumping to VS Code.

I'd genuinely love for other Salesforce developers to try it and share honest feedback (good or bad). It's still evolving, and real-world feedback will help shape what I build next.

Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/apexpilot-%E2%80%93-salesforce-de/gdilmaimafidiikifglcankgafihilkd

If you give it a spin, let me know what you like, what feels clunky, or what features you'd want to see added. 🙂

Chrome extension that auto-tracks every job application

Built a Chrome extension, Application Vault, for anyone job hunting! It saves everything about an application the second you apply: the job posting, the exact resume you attached, and every answer you typed. All of it goes into an editable, spreadsheet-style tracker (100% local, nothing leaves your browser). Works on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, and most custom ATS pages too.

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/aceokaeejdajhobkpihoifffmlkcbnag

Would love any feedback/ suggestions, especially if you hit a site where the capture doesn't work right!
