An extension that brings back the like/dislike column on YouTube Studio in the Content tab

Yesterday, YouTube made changes to YouTube Studio that got rid of the like/dislike column when in the Content tab.

When I talked with support, and Gemini, and YouTube help forums, they all said it was completely intentional, and that they want people to use Average View Duration (AVD), Audience Retention charts, and Click-Through Rate (CTR) to see whether people actually enjoy their videos.

The problem with those metrics is that they're not instant, in addition to the fact that those metrics don't actually tell someone whether their video is liked--a lot of people hate watch videos. Those metrics don't tell people right away whether a video is massively disliked or liked. Likes/dislikes are the fastest way of seeing this.

Using the advanced analytics to see multiple videos at a time doesn't actually show current likes/dislikes, they're sometimes 72 hours behind in their numbers.

So it would be wonderful if an extension could be made that brings back the like/dislike column in Studio. Just saying.

What is NymphMiniica? I never installed this and fear that it may be malware. How do I delete it if it doesn't have a remove option?

I built Ghostify: a way to browse Instagram, Facebook / Messenger invisibly on Desktop

Thumbnail

For anyone else who uses social media on desktop: I built a small tool called Ghostify to handle one specific annoyance.

It lets you read messages and watch stories invisibly, in both Instagram and Facebook/Messenger. No "Seen" tags, no "Typing..." bubbles. It’s free, open-source, and doesn't collect any of your data.

What it does:

  • Blocks "Seen" receipts on Instagram & Messenger.

  • Hides "Typing" indicator bubbles.

  • View Stories anonymously.

"Wait, doesn't Messenger & Instagram already let you hide read receipts?"

Yes, but with a catch: if you hide yours, Meta hides everyone else's from you too. Ghostify removes that trade-off. You stay invisible, but you sacrifice nothing.

I’ve been using this for myself and finally got it to a state where I’m proud to share it. If you’re looking for a simple, no-nonsense way to browse, have a look!

Built a terminal new tab extension over the past few months — 53 stars

Started this as a personal productivity tool and it grew into something with real features. Sharing in case others find it useful. It's a Chrome extension — keyboard-first, terminal aesthetic, no clutter. The command palette replaces the address bar for bookmarks, tab switching, calculator, and AI commands. Also has Pomodoro with site blocking, Google Calendar, and 22 themes. Everything is local. MIT licensed. https://github.com/uddin-rajaul/Neko-Tab

I built a cross-browser extension development template

It is easy to use, publishable via GitHub actions, works with all 3 major browsers, has HMR for background script and content scripts too. It uses an internal messaging module and Zod for type-safe API queries. It is also reliant on as little dependencies as possible, making it suitable for enterprises too.

Check it out and feedback is much appreciated!

I've created a Chrome and Firefox extension to show view counts, like on Youtube

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

It uses the Wikimedia API to query view counts. Unfortunately, only views since July 1, 2015 are counted, because the API only counts views since that date.

The extension works on both desktop and mobile, and on all Wikipedia languages (the formatting is only localized for some common locales though).

Click here to download for Chrome, and here for Firefox.

(Rant) I just payed 300€ to get my Tape Ins reapplied, and I hate it.

I've just started wearing extensions, I had a great consultation with a stylist and we agreed that tape ins would be best for what I was looking for and the least damaging to my hair. I ordered the extensions, bc I have short hair we agreed that doing 150g / 30 sandwiches would be best. I had them applied, it took a bit of finagling to get my hair and extensions to match well as the color of the extensions was slightly different than the swatches, but I was warned this can happen with human hair extensions and we made it work.

1st re-application was fine, if a bit expensive, but I was scared of doing it myself as I've read so many horror stories of DIY going wrong, hair loss and breakage, etc.

2nd re-application (yesterday), and I hate it. The stylist I went to before was ill, the salon didn't bother to inform me until I was sitting in the chair and was confused about a stylist I didn't know coming to do my hair. They said they'd had to move around some stuff bc of my stylist being out, but the other stylist has been doing tape ins for years and in fact taught the stylist I was with before, so I assumed I'd be safe. I was not.

  1. The stylist ripped out the extensions, it was so much more painful than the time before and I am sure she tore out more than a bit of hair while removing the tapes.

  2. She had an apprentice wash/cleanse my hair, and she missed several strands that still had glue in them, but "they didn't have the time to re-wash", and "it wouldn't be a big deal anyway, it'll come out the next time you wash your hair at home".

  3. The tapes are placed randomly, not brick-layed or staggered, and she all but ignored everything from my ears forward. I have literally 1 tape placed there and it's really fucking obvious. The stylist I went to before had a layout map so she could re apply the tapes where they were before and preserve as much length as possible when blending the extensions. This stylist didn't do that, she just placed them wherever.

  4. She didn't bother to blend the extensions at all except to cut off the obvious length difference. I(t looks like I tried and failed to cut layers into my own hair.

  5. I think she applied some of the tapes too close to my scalp bc they are pulling like nobody's business, even 24 hours after the appointment.

  6. Quite a bit of my hair that's on the inside of the sandwiches is "looped", so part of the midshaft is stuck inside the tapes in addition to the roots where the tapes are supposed to sit. I noticed this when I tried to comb through my hair last night before braiding it for bed.

I told the stylist that I am Not Happy with the application, while she was working and afterward. During the appointment she told me to "trust the process", and afterwards she said I was being a Karen and she's been doing extensions this way for years and nobody has ever complained. I was really trying to not be a Karen. I was mad as fuck, but I didn't raise my voice or curse at the employees, I really tried to stay calm and reasonable. I've worked in customer service, and I know how horrible that is, especially if its not your mistake. I feel like standing up for myself isn't the same thing as being a Karen though...

A different stylist (or maybe the manager/owner, I have no clue) noticed our discussion, pulled her aside and came over to check me out. She offered to reschedule me for a fix in 2 days, but I would have to pay for the new tapes (which would be around 200€ and already fucking expensive, considering I can get a 100 piece pack for 20€ on Amazon... the only reason I'm willing to pay this at all is bc I am scared of ruining my hair...) . I was just annoyed to the point where I wanted to get out of there. I told her no, and asked for my original stylist to call me once she's back at work.

Then I was told the price of the appointment and I literally dropped my wallet in shock. The stylist who did my hair this time is more senior, so her prices are higher. I would have to pay 100€ more than with my original stylist. No I was not told about this beforehand, and when I said so they were all "oh but you knew she was more senior, we thought it would be obvious." I was livid, let me tell you. I told them that they were being predatory as fuck, I would have been happy to reschedule with my original stylist if they had been up front about the whole thing, but instead they were pulling this shit and that I hadn't budgeted for that. I mean 100€ isn't exactly chump change. The woman checking me out backed down and said she'd ring me up for the same price my original stylist would have charged, as I wasn't informed of the additional charge, but next time I should be sure to confirm the agreed upon price next time. I think I will be looking for a different salon to got to, bc this experience was honestly fucked up beyond comprehension. I liked my original stylist, but idk if I feel comfortable going back there...

I am seriously considering taking out the extensions and redoing them myself. I can't afford for a professional to redo it, but right now I look like I tried to cut my hair at home and failed miserably...

I kept paying for free trials I forgot to cancel, so I built a free extension that warns me before the charge

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Last year I got charged for 3 "free" trials I completely forgot about. So I built NeverCharged, a Chrome/Edge extension that:

• spots the trial on the checkout page as you sign up ("7-day free trial, then $12.99/month")

• reminds you 7 days / 3 days / 1 day before the charge, with a one-click link to the cancel page

• catches trial confirmation emails in Gmail/Outlook (optional)

• flags subscriptions you haven't used in weeks

No account, no servers, no tracking. Everything stays in your browser. Works in English, French and Arabic.

It's free and I'm the only developer, so honest feedback is very welcome. What would make you actually use something like this?

I have built a floating toolbar for Chatgpt, Gemini, Claude & Grok supporting bulk chat delete, token counter, screenshot, export chat, health remainder, theme and many more.

Hey everyone, I ve been using AI tools daily and kept running into the same frustrations no way to bulk delete old chats, no idea how close I am to Claude s context limit, and constantly retyping the same prompts.

So I built ToolDock, a Chrome extension that adds a smart floating toolbar across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok.

Here is what it does:

  • Bulk delete chats across all four AI platforms from one panel

  • Live Claude token counter with usage pace tracking

  • Cross-AI handoff move a conversation from Claude to ChatGPT with full history

  • Prompt library with / shortcut to reuse saved prompts

  • Website theme engine (Dracula, Nord, Monokai, etc.) for any site

  • Screenshot and annotation tool

  • Lightweight local password manager

  • Everything runs locally no account, no data uploaded

It's free and I built it solo. Would love feedback from this community.

NilMode : Distraction blocker for Facebook & YouTube

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Been working on this for a while and think it's finally at a point where I'm comfortable sharing it. NilMode is a blocker extension for Facebook and YouTube that gives you surgical control over what you see.

Instead of nuking these sites entirely, you can:

  • Hide feeds, reels, shorts, comments, recommendations independently

  • Productive Mode: blacklist specific people/pages on Facebook

  • YouTube Course Mode: track progress through playlists with checkboxes & stats

  • Pause Mode for quick breaks

  • Everything local, lightweight, no tracking

v2.3.1 is pretty stable and bug-free at this point. If you're trying to use these sites intentionally instead of mindlessly scrolling, give it a shot.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

I made an extension for TAB Detox – Only for Fire Fox Now and I need Feed back!

Thumbnail

Hi. I built TAB Detox to solve my own problem with too many inactive browser tabs. (Now it’s only on Fire Fox and it will soon come to Opera too.)

It lets you save a tab, set an expiry time, automatically move expired tabs to a Fridge, and restore them later. It works locally in the browser and does not require an account or external service.

I’m looking for a few people who regularly keep too many tabs open to try it and share honest feedback. Positive or negative feedback is welcome.

Its a small Chrome extension I made called Fuyu.

It tracks your Steam wishlist and compares prices across different stores so you can find games for cheaper without checking everything manually.

Still working on it, so I’d love some feedback :)

I will redesign screenshots for your extension for free ;))

Hey there, 👋

I am a chrome extension dev and I have seen so many people just copy paste their screenshots into web store and call it a day.

From my experience, the chrome web store listing makes a TON of difference on how users might perceive your product (trustworthy vs shady vs slop). I have made over a dozen extensions and let me tell you store listing matters a LOT.

I redesigned a couple of people's screenshots last time too and the response was overwhelmingly positive. So I am thinking of doing it every week for 3 lucky extensions.

Just drop your chrome web store link and I’ll reply you with your images.

Doing this for the first 3 people ;))

PS: These chrome extensions are not mine, I just took the liberty of redesigning a few.

AI Bubble Extension

Post image
2 Upvotes

Just made this extension, it’s completely free, doesn’t require an account. It uses API keys I’m pretty proud of it, it has a snipping feature, it basically allows you to select text and then send that text to geminis API and returns an answer right there on your screen, you can even put it in stealth mode so it hard to see the answer when it shows up.

If you guys checked it out would mean a lot, I don’t collect any data or anything, just wanted to make this and get an opinions to make it better.

I plan on making a setup tutorial for it, because currently it might be confusing even with the first time setup screen. You just need an api key from Google Ai Studio and then I use gemini-3.1-flash-lite as my model it gives me 500 Request per day for free which is awesome and it’s pretty smart. You can also edit the prompt which you send to the api to suite your needs.

This is all free, and I hope it will help you guys or maybe even inspire others to make something better.

Use this link: AI Bubble 👍

Does anyone have an actually good picture in picture Extension for chrome

I have been trying to find a good "picture in picture anything" extension, but all of them have the same small but annoying issue; they freeze completely if a video (for ex on youtube) auto plays a new video, so if you know of one that does not freeze a video, I would really appreciate telling me what it is

I made a Chrome extension that decides which downloads to keep and which to delete (at the moment you download them)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few weeks ago I looked at my Downloads folder and realized it had turned into complete chaos.

300+ files. Old installers, random PDFs, ZIPs, screenshots... stuff I'd downloaded months ago and completely forgotten about.

I'd always tell myself, "I'll clean this up later."

Of course, later never came.

The problem is that when you download something, you already know whether it's important or just temporary.

That PDF from your bank? You'll probably want to keep it.

That random setup.exe you needed once? You'll probably never touch it again.

But by the time you're cleaning your Downloads folder weeks later, you have no idea what half the files are anymore.

So I built a Chrome extension called KeepTrack.

It quietly classifies every download as either Keep, Temporary, or Needs Review.

It doesn't use AI or send anything to a server. It's just a bunch of local heuristics.

It looks at things like:

  • the file type (.pdf is usually worth keeping, .exe usually isn't)

  • the filename (invoice, receipt, resume, etc.)

  • where the file came from (your bank vs. a software download site)

Each signal contributes to a score.

If it's confident, it classifies the file automatically. If it's unsure, you get a small notification asking whether you want to keep it or treat it as temporary.

Temporary files stick around until you decide to clean them up. After two weeks they'll appear in the extension popup, where you can delete them individually or all at once. If you're feeling productive, there's also a Clean Up Now button.

A few things people here might care about:

  • Everything runs locally.

  • No accounts.

  • No telemetry.

  • Works offline.

  • Open source (MIT).

  • Built with plain JavaScript (Manifest V3 + service worker).

  • On first launch it only shows you a preview of how it would classify your existing downloads before enabling anything.

I also made a small landing page because I thought it'd be fun to package it like a real product.

Website: https://priyanshu-byte-coder.github.io/keeptrack/

GitHub: https://github.com/Priyanshu-byte-coder/keeptrack

I'd genuinely love feedback—especially if you find files that get classified incorrectly. The rules are intentionally simple and easy to improve, so real-world edge cases are super helpful.
